  • Spent a day here in the mid 1990's. One of the most amazing and powerful experiences of my life. Glad I made the trek in a small plane from Cozumel.

  • Been there and 'El Castillo' still fills me with awe. For the earnest key-seeker: José Diaz Bolio has written imporant works on the Maya's, Kukulkan and more. Thanks for a great video.

  • Any Movie it´s comparable, like to be there and see the magnificent of that ancient city

  • Q BELLEZA LA CULTURA MAYA:)

  • #91

  • @Gabriela451 its called Yucatan -____-

  • I've been there and its awesome

  • eww just think how many dead bodies are in that well.... .:/

  • @theresxhope i went a few days ago and i think 95 bodies were found. and 80 of those bodies were young females, between the ages 8-14.

  • My family was there 23 years ago when I was ten. We had missed it by one day. :-( I really want to go back so I can see it.

  • @Jpeditor the Aztecs and mayans did do sacrifices in the hour of famine or drought but was done only at bad times so desperate measures were taken some sacrifices were voluntary cuz they believed to become godesses unlike The Germans who would attempt a holocaust amongst there habitants sacrifices are much more humane than wars I would say

  • I am really proud to be Mexican, my ancestors were amazing, and just because Mexico isn't so great today means that i can't be as remarkable as my ancestors.

  • It´s not only in that place. Also occurs other effects in the sun in Dzibilchaltun, Uxmal, Mayapan at least, but do not have the promotion that Chichen Itza has.

  • @tariztegui Very fascinating. I was trying to find something else while I stumbled upon this. I was looking for what might have been a Mayan or Aztec styled temple. It had serpent-like windows carved so that a number of illuminated serpents would appear on what looked like a hollow inside? Thanks alot if you respond to this.

  • why the equinox only on that place ?

  • I was there for the 2011 Equinox. It was cool because it started to rain just before the Equinox, but the sun came out at the last moment. We didn't think that it would.

  • HOY 21 DE MARZO DIA DEL EQUIOCCIO DE PRIMAVERA ESTE DIA TIENE LAS MISMAS HORAS DE NOCHE Y DE DIA, LA PIRAMIDE DE CHICHEN ITZA ES ESPECIAL PORQUE ES UNA REPRESETACION DEL CALENDARIO MAYA, DONDE DESCIEDE KUKULCAN E UN EFECTO CON EL SOL Y O OS OLVIDEMOS DEL NATALICIO DE BENITO JUAREZ, LA PRIMER PIRINOLA QUE DIO MEXICO!!

  • Doofen ze gaboofen, ja?

  • I'm not sure I understand your "question".

  • We went to cancun and this was my favorite part. I would have rather spent the week at the hotel here in Yucatan than in the resort we were at, i was so impressed with this and in complete awe.

  • I just got back from Chichen Itza, they had the base of the pyramid roped off so that you could no go within 20 ft of the base. Still an amazing place!

  • eran reptilianos o que.....

  • que bello lugar y enigmático.....

  • I feel very pround to have indigenous blood in main vains

  • Mexico and his great history

  • Great, very educational video!

  • its funny how whites kill 95% of the Native Americans and then talk about how much American they are more than the so called Mexicans....

  • @99cacahuate. I am mostly white but small percent blackfeet. I never like that you didn't see two indians together unless they were traveling together. I never though much about Latin Americans still being the same gene tree until traveling on the trip that brought me to chitzen itza. It's funny that you make your statement on this link.

  • @duckvenom who are the latin americans according to you?

  • Ive been here. the place freaked me out for good. Since my visit i have never not wondered why the ancients worshipped serpents and the sun. Guess i'll find out 1 day hey

  • SIMPLEMENTE EXELENTE

  • It´s so amazaing! there are so many places on earth our ancestors left behind and we just don´t see them - we forget them - I guess there are so many informations buried underneath that we just have to decipher and understand!

  • it met harvest time ....smart 365 stairs = 365 days calander pyramind can get better then that ...the kings are gone but the decentdants and pyraminds are still here ...

  • i saw this in science class!!!!!

  • @chink34 Before you make a comment it's imortant to research, to make sure, you don't sound like an ignotant

  • @chink34 idiotic asshole, research a bit.

Savages? Aztecs were the dominant empire on America, and they made the spainards have a rough time. Mayans were one of the most misterious and advanced civilizations since today.

    Olmecs were waaay before.

  • was für tolle Aufnahmen ! Super !

  • Revelation 12:9

And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Sounds like the serpent descending the steps of the pyramid.

  • who made this boring? japanese ? I wanna know good quailty documentary about this.

  • To see this in person is stunning. I was there during Easter week and really was impressed. By the way, the Mexicans are very nice people. Many of the people in that area of Mexico are Mayan. If you are light skinned like me then go in the morning when the Sun is not so oppressive. It gets very hot in the afternoon so protect yourself with serious sunscreen.

  • @chairde

I second this! The people there are so kind, especially the Mayans.

  • @chairde but mexico is losing much of its soul, today most mexicans have european names, specially of spanish origin and only few have a native mexican name ,and we know mexicans don't speak in their native language, again spanish influence is big and most talk in spanish ,poor mexico ,even when most mexicans are more native ,in mexican tv series most actors are european looking, mexico should be like korea,in korean dramas like "dream high" or "city hunter" the actors look from their country

  • @kyonsuzumiyakim History can be cruel sometimes. Still I have to stand in awe of a place like Chichen Itza. There is nothing to compare it to in my country, the USA. When I was there our guide who was half Mayan was very interested in the Mel Gibson movie because it was done in the Mayan language. So there must be some pride in their native language and culture. I think you are right about the Spanish influence in Mexico. The movie stars like Selma Hyak are more European looking.

  • @kyonsuzumiyakim i beg to differ, the stereotype of mexican isnt the only "real" one there is, it is true that there's a lot of race mixing in this country but that doesnt mean we're losing our soul, its actually quite the oposite, foreigners who come and live here end up becoming part of mexico in every way, even japanese and chinese people who are very proud of their country end up feeling the warm and cheer of being a part of this country during their life.

  • I stay there 1972

  • ""where R u From??""

    NORDERSTEDT :)

  • Germany ?

  • @xsotax

Yes, Germany, Norderstedt is a northern sububrg of Hamburg, in the North of Germany, but I Thought you would look it up on google maps. I think there is not a 2nd Norderstedt like there are is another Hamburg or another Rome in the USA. Do you recognise the German language when you see it? Dutch looks very similar like German, that's why it is easy for me to learn. BTW the HH is on the number plates of cars in Hamburg, but in Norderstedt, it is SE :o)

  • @xsotax

I am terribly sorry for giving you so much useless information!!!!

  • @54651951981919198 like it says its in chichen itza. maybe read next time?

  • WOW!!! que increible

    genial!!!!

  • i went there, it was amazing.

  • This is one of the most impressionant cultures of all history, not only of "mesoamerica", but human race... im gonna be in chichén itzá smoking some weed and practicing meditation... yeah! hail maya masters!

  • @lordbitterness smoke a big one Brother!! and ask for a better world!! have a great Weed Journey!!

  • If you will notice in the Angels and Demons, Vittoria cued a dialogue like this: "Prophet who predicted the annihilation of the Earth..." It is another clue to Dan Brown's next book, THE LOST SYMBOL.

  • I just visited this great pyramid 3 days ago and you need to visit it! I am still amazed at the precision the Mayans used to built it. I love the clapping demonstration. Como Amo a Mexico!

  • Como amo a mí país.
