  • I know someone that kept a goldfish in a bowl for 29 years.

  • Um i keep my betta fish in a bowl and he and she is fine

  • Oh no, youtube text walls everywhere...

  • who the fuck are you to say this huh its not up to you and if you think your educating people your a fucking idiot stay the fuck off youtube and showing pictures of dead fish and blaming it on a tank your fucked you dont even know what your talking about

  • who the fuck are you to say this huh its not up to you and if you think your educating people your a fucking idiot stay the fuck off youtube and showing pictures of dead fish and blaming it on a tank your fucked

  • I'm thinking of getting fish and putting them in a big tanks. ^__^ but I don't know where I'm going to put the tank O.o

  • @emochick956 big tanks= lots of time to cycle the water and lots of maintance..

  • @Littleasiann21 Actually, big tanks take just as long to cycle as small tanks, and they actually require less maintenance.

  • hahaha dead gold fish, i feed the stupid things to my texas cichlid

  • Thanks I am getting fish soon and I have a rectangle tank and I Dont want them to die could you help. Me

  • is the 10dollar one bad because i have a betta in it

  • BOWL N WTF IS AMMONIA, NITRITE, NITRATE, AND THOSE OTHER SHIT I DONT EVEN FKIN DO THOSE SHT AND MY FISH IS STILL ALIVE FOR 1 YEAR HOES AND NO WATER CHANGES WEN I C TAT IT JUST MAKES ME THINK TAT U GUYS R STUPID OF DOING THOSE AND WASTING MONEY ON IT THE TRY AMMONIA IKIT IS $11!!!!

  • @TheSpiritSai Idiot Goldfish just happens to be very well surviving fish. Probably everything is wrong with your aquarium, but as very tough fish goldfish does not die easily. They can live over 10 years so the fact that you successfully tortured it for 1 year and it did not die proves nothing.

Just think it this way. You could live tens of years in 1x1 meter dark room as long as you got enough food and drink. But would you be happy? No.

  • oh and also fighting fish prefer very small tanks, from experience, putting them in a tank bigger than about a litre is very stressful for them, as they naturally live in cows footprints and things.

they will die in a moderate-large tank

  • @LaterzMcGhee Actually, that's a myth. I keep my bettas in no less than 5 gallon tanks, and they all do wonderful and all seem a lot happier and livelier.

  • @stephster575 i guess thats fine, in a 20gal tank they freak out and die

  • @LaterzMcGhee I don't know what kind of "bettas" you're keeping.

  • @LaterzMcGhee they actually dont "live" in "cows footprints and things" get ur facts straight b4 u post stupid shit like this... and "Betta's" that ur referring to, are like most fish, and need the proper size tanks, filtration, food, lighting, and temperature (for tropical fish)

  • @Rapter1985 oh, stupid shit? thanks. i guess you're better at googling than i am.

even if they dont live in cow prints it doesn't mean they dont like small/claustrophobic habitats or enjoy open spaces. but actually my fish might just have agoraphobia

  • @LaterzMcGhee Thats rubbish, in here Finland minimum recommendation aquarium size is 40 litres, and many people keep them in bigger ones too. Like said total myth with no facts behind it. And no they do not live in that small places in nature, but more like in small streams that are still way bigger than average aquarium tank.

Actually finnish animal law prevents keeping any fish in tank less than 40 litres... One of the few good things about Finland.

  • @Pvjinflight thats a great law, i guess you're right. If anything i think they'd just prefer a tank jam-packed with plants

  • @LaterzMcGhee LOOOOOL cows foot prints ? .. how dumb can some people get ..

  • @awhatzable show some Respect. theres no need to be cunt, and for all you know im fucking albert einstein.

maybe that information came from someone who actually found them in footprints after the floods or something. and can't u see i've discussed this with people and my idea changed anyway?

my turn to judge you on your comment: i bet you'll pick on anyone brave enough to say something unusual but are too afraid to express your own ideas; that's called insecurity, your comment just REEKS of it.

  • @LaterzMcGhee relax your fingers

  • @awhatzable good to know i got through to you.

  • @LaterzMcGhee i dont give a shit actually if they you are dumb for that .. that what i was trying to say i just rememeberd lol idioit

  • @awhatzable that sentence doesn't make sense braaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. i love you for how ironic you are. you're a source of entertainment for us all [who dont take your nonsense personally].

  • @LaterzMcGhee lols yes ur life is filled with entertainment anyways filled with fishes that came from cows foot prints .. and you coming out of your dads ass

  • @awhatzable and i still cant believe you thought fishes came out of a cows footprint !!! ive been stunned by someone that stupid still -.- literally

  • @awhatzable insecurity insecurity insecurity insecurity insecurity insecurity insecurity insecurity insecurity insecurity insecurity insecurity insecurity insecurity insecurity insecurity insecurity insecurity insecurity insecurity insecurity insecurity insecurity insecurity insecurity insecurity insecurity insecurity insecurity insecurity insecurity insecurity insecurity insecurity insecurity insecurity insecurity insecurity insecurity insecurity insecurity insecurity insecurity insecurity inse

  • @LaterzMcGhee wow spam because you got owned -.-

  • @awhatzable insecurity insecurity insechtf

  • I had to mute the video, for some reason i found myself coming closer and closer to converting my habitat-correct 20gallon tanks into fishbowls

  • @0204kat have you de-chlorinated you water yet? Have you cycled your tank for a week before you got the fish? Did you do your research? Do you know how to do water changes? Please buy a tank and do lots of research before buying

  • @bobcheese427 Thank you! :)

  • i have no topical heater or a filters hurry what am i spossed to do!!!!

  • im a bad parant on my fishy i use a bowl and i almost killed my fish what i do help me!!!!!!!!

  • "the bowl will get dirty" haha fukin clean it dum ass

  • lol, stupid fish

  • love the filter choice! I only use that brand except on my frog tank =( because it needs to be in the tank not hanging off or hell escape!

  • What a fitting song. :P

  • i have a bowl for my fish but it's a 3 gallon bowl it's really big for a bowl and i change all of the water twice a week for my betta. He does make a bubble nest so that's good right.

  • I hate it when people say 'oh, it will just grow into it's bowl' uhm, no it wont... it will get deformed. Do you like wearing shoes 3 sizes too small? Also, most fish like large numbers so don't get 1 of each species you like. and PLEASE go online for info, store clerks are nitwits who just want to make money (mostly). Just because they're small doesn't mean they don't have feelings. They should be treated like what people find normal for a dog or cat. love 'em, even though you can't pet them.

  • Goldfish grow up to 1ft and they stop growing in a bowl

  • 14$ yes,but by the time you buy all the equitment its 50-70 :(

  • My fish are a year and a half old and they are perfectly fine. Actually only my shark Is a year and a half, my other fish is two years.

  • i dont wish to disagree, but we used to keep beta's in glass vases with a live plant...the plant fed off the ammonia from the fish and the fish fed off the roots of the plant. had three betas that lived for 2-3 years and my grandmother has one that was 4 yrs old.

  • For a long time, up until very recently, it seems we've been in the dark ages of fish keeping. I think we're slowly coming out of those dark ages, though, at least I hope so. Hobbyists are really contributing a lot of information to the fish world in general. Fish aren't just the set-it-and-forget-it decorations that most people seem to think they are. Thank you for the video. I can't understand how people see fish as just... Pretty rocks in a tank, or something.

  • :) Finnaly a person who knows that fish can have pain to =]

  • I use my bowl for 1 guppy.

  • My betta lives in a heated ten gallon. ;)

  • i thought shark finning was the most inhumane thing you could do to a fish

  • thanx for showing some of those cruel people out there the truth!

  • I keep my fish in a very large bowl, but they're babies and small enough that keeping the water clean is easier than if they were matured. When they get bigger I'll put them in a tank, but I think bowls are alright in certain situations (like beta fish) and are not the root of all fish problems. That would be uneducated fish owners.

  • @JaysaLittle Actually betta's require warm water which means you need a heater and will show there best bahaviour and colours when they are in a clean tank that is large enough for them to be entertained. Just because they are beautiful doesnt mean they dont have feelings, they are intelligent fish and if you give them the chance youd be surprised how they act in the right conditions.

  • go hug a tree

  • Feeling bad about what I did to my fish as a 4-year old

  • I always put my fish in real aquariums, even if they're Betas, or Goldfish.

  • you left out the most important bit about the fact that there wouldnt be enough oxygen in the water for the fish to survive for long?

  • cmon dude, if you clean the bowl every week or so, it shouldn't be a problem. just because your fish died in a bowl doesn't mean every fish will die because of it.

  • bemer commercial was the bom hahaha som g ass ocean 11 shit hahahaa

  • Goldfish are pond fish plain and simple.

  • wait, who says you aren't a spy for the FISHES!

  • EDIT: 3 months. BUT STILL.

  • Lol are you stupid dude? GOLDFISH has a intention span of 2 minutes. After that they dont even know what just happend. they restart every 2 mins. thats why they are in a small tank.. Lmfao dude.

  • @OhMGeeFrogblast

actually it's been proven goldfish have long term memory. You are a fucktard.

  • 99% of the fish arent even in a fishbowl

  • then why do they sell bowls?

  • @SophieIsLeukHe Because to customers: It's cheap, looks easy to set up, maintain, and attractive to the eye, and to sellers: They sell a lot of them, and most pet stores could care less about an animal's well being. They should be banned though. :/

  • @SophieIsLeukHe the pet store is nothing more then someone that wants to have nothing more then money. If you ask them something about the animal they know almost nothing not until you tell them. And the animals they sell get no older then just a few years. And bowls for fish is also bad for the fish because the fish get physical disordered because of the bowl making things a lot bigger then they are.

  • 21 people don't like jordin sparks

  • i faved this vid cause your right and the vid is good, as also your music choise.

idk why but this music makes me think of the old times ;_)

  • you probably are in peta you fag

  • you are not the boss of me.I just got a goldfish today and he is fine in a bowl.I will clean it every week or when it gets dirty.

  • YOU DONT HAVE TO CLEAN THE TANK EACH DAY ITS ONCE A WEEK

  • YOU CLEAN THE TANK THERES NOTHING WRONG WITH A FISH IN A BOWL YOU CLEAN THE TANK NOT THAT HARD YOU KNOW

  • 2:15 in the background: SAY YES!!!

  • What absolute bullshit. You can prevent most of these problems by simply keeping the bowl clean. And FYI, there is no difference in clenliness between a bowl and a tank, just size. So in a tank, the water may be just as dirty but you don't see it as there is a larger surface area. To truly keep a bowl/tank clean 24/7, you'd need a tank cleaner, which is expensive and drains one's electricity bill. Lots of people can't afford that. You, my dear, are really quite stupid.

  • @PastaBakeMilkShake Couldnt agree with you more, I do a 20% water change every week put dechlorinater in there (the correct level needed for it) and I bought the top of the range heater and a hyprid bubble filter HOW DOES THE SHAPE OF A TANK EFFECT IT iv even got 2 moss balls in ther to keep nitrate levels down. My first fish died last week after being alive for 6 months and even then he was a guppy

  • I'm going to go get a goldfish right now and put it in a bowl

  • I bought one of those fish in a keychain things a looooooooong time ago, as soon as I got home I popped it open into my tank. :3

  • Wait No 0:19!

  • Thats Just Cruel 0:22

  • fukk fish i eat them get mad fags

  • people buy bowls because they dont want to spend so mush they can get a bowl and gravel under 10 dollars or buy an heater filter decor gravel plants 10 gallon tank under 60 dollars i obviously choose the ten gallon option 60 dollars i spend but was worth it

  • So true movie.. But confirm your facts... The goldfish on 0:57 have Flavobacterium columnare. I know this 'cause my carpers had.. Dont just random copy/past pics cause they bring the wrong info... its a different disease..

    But well done!

  • Really true, I saw a fish bowl for 23$ and a tank that was much bigger only costed 16$ which whould you pick?

  • @MrThunderSAMA ---I'm NOT trying to be the spelling police. However, the correct word is "cost." There is no such word as 'costed.'

    Peace!

  • you can keep them in bowls but the bowl needs to be very big with places to hide and with something new every day not a place with nothing in it that makes it feel trapped, the fish needs to feel welcome.

  • @TheMoviemakerjr I kept my betta in a two gallon bowl with silk plants and several small caves. It was horrible...I was cleaning that damn thing three times a week and constantly testing to keep the cycle in check. I switched her to a 2.5 gallon with a five gallon filter (There are snails and they make a mess, and can't see killing them off just cause they weren't her intended tankmates) She's also got a heater. I have never seen her colors so bright. Her white is platinum and her red is RED!!

  • i just bought a 50 gallon tank for my one beta fish and i looks so lonley. but you are compleatly right, it isnt fair

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH FORE THIS I WILL CHANGE NY FISH BOLE NOW RIGHT THIS VERY SECOND!!!!!!!!!!

  • i like the video but i have never EVER seen a 10 gallon tank for $14 in my life. I have a 5.5 gallon tank and i got that for $40!

  • its horrible that people win fish at fairs and do this to them . they dident deserve this .i keep my turquiose severum's in a 90 gallon even tho they only get 5 inches because i think of it this way. would you like to be kept in a jail cell with horrible conditions ? then why would you put one of god's creatures threw it then ? my chichlids have been living for over 4 years now .

  • @greenfiend42000 I put it this way, "would you wanna be locked in your bathroom with your own chilli farts for a week? And the only time you get fresh air is when you are let out for five minutes when your "keeper" has time to take care of you? Or would you rather have a house with central heating, and the ability to open a window now and then to air your farts out?"

  • sellers dont care about fish they care about MONEY

  • i have had a gold fish and clean its tank once a moth and i have had it for a year also i ad a betta and had that for 4 years

  • i agree but people might not have the space for a tank for a small goldfish

  • @allygator824 Then they don't need to be getting a fish. You shouldn't get an animal if you can't care for it properly. Don't get a dog if you cant walk it, don't get a cat if you can't clean a litter box, don't get a snake if you can't handle feeding it dead mammals, and you don't get a fish that could potential live for 25 years, and will easily be four or five inches, and sometime much much bigger. They are pond fish, meaning one day you will need a at least a 60 gallon tank.

  • @FiestyCat86 i agree with u if they cant take care of them they shouldnt have them . Im just sayin its their fault if they dont take care of them properly cuz they dont have space for a tank. if they dont have the space they shouldnt have them

  • This is so true. It took me an hour to clean a fish bowl . And when i got my 10g tank it takes me 10 m to vaccum gravel and put back the water.in big tanks your supposed to do 25% water changes weekly but in bowls several almost full water changes.

I got my 10 gallon tank from petco for 10$.

    Check my videos out.

    Ialso breed some

  • Get a plastic goldfish.do what ever the f... you want with it...

  • Yeah, I agree about some stupid things people do but Goldfish like cramped places (not so cramp that it can't move obviously) a proffesional said so

  • @Animal00Kaiser And you BELIEVED HIM? R you kidding me? Do you even know what a goldfish is? Its a modified carp, a RIVER fish, that lives in large rivers, lakes and ponds. No fish wants to live in cramped spaces especially a fish that's going to get to seven or eight inches by end of it twenty year life span. Lord a mercy, do you believe the toothfairy is real too? If I told you pit bulls enjoy fighting to the death, would you believe that? Hon please do some research.

  • @FiestyCat86 Jeez... Sorry dude..

  • @Animal00Kaiser No I'm sorry. That was really kinda harsh. I wasn't purposely attacking you, I was just kinda tweaked at the guy who told you that. There have been cases of larger goldfish living for fifteen years plus in small aquariums, but they were typically alone there whole lives and are never as active as their pond counterparts. There are alot of myths were goldfish are concerned, that you can debunk by looking up the info online. Again, I'm sorry I was so rude.

  • @FiestyCat86 I believed him because last time my goldfishes kinda liked the small pail I put them in (there were only two goldfish!) Too bad I had to leave them to the world! That was the only goldfish I knew that understood ENGLISH!

  • I cannot fucking believe that the Chinese dude just put a HUGE goldfish into a tiny keychain! Though cool, I would prefer a plastic goldfish instead of a live one... Cuz it might die it you walk to mush and the road for the fish is too bumpy

  • today i got my betta an octagon tank he loves it all he dose is swim back and forth all day ive had him for a month but i use to clean his bowl every 2 days

  • goodf**k

  • I keep mine in a 55 g tank

  • Diseases are common not only in bowls but tanks I love fish and I do keep some fish in a bowl my beta lived in a Gold fish bowl but Never she died sadly from a Disease but not something that is Rather common at all, Gill Rot I believe it was I was unaware of it entirely until when she died she had Moss like white substance she lived a Long life though =)

  • not really die of amonia as long as you change water regularly

  • @Mr12345yeo its still cruel

  • @RaffleReefer10 yes its cruel but if the fish are small enough it is a space big enough for them to grow and play and most of the diseases in your videos can happen to every fish no matter them being in circle bowls or tanks

  • Yeah kept my fish in a bowl and it jumped out... couldn't find it.. so I accused my best friend of breaking into my house and stealing my fish cuz she wanted it...

  • i really wanna go to long john silvers all of the sudden :/..

  • Thank you for sharing a new way to get rid of your unwanted fish, cheers

  • Or...

    SET THE FISHES FREEE!!!!! <3

  • I keep mine in a huge aquarium.

  • I've seen the bettas in a wall tank at my local Taco del Mar.

  • If ya got a plec or loach there is no problem with ammonia.

  • Was that a lightsaber as a heater? Must be one bad ass fish

  • 7 for my bowl with water cleaner filter rocks and a plant + Food and Bubbler that lights up. Neat thing I love it. I agree bowls are harder to keep I tried it failed to much work. So I bought more rocks and went to Walmart! and got a 10 gallon tank for 10 bucks and just moved everything there and guess what it looks even better with the light up bubbler now I added more bubbles with tubes in the tank to make it more bubbly and Cotten Candy loves it, she is a rescue Tattoo Molly with new babys

  • soo true. my dad laughed at me because i was worried about my platy when my old molly bullied her he goes "they're just fish" i said "well how you you feel if somebody kept biting at you and kept you from eating. fish have feelings" my sis wants a bowl for her betta and i'm talking her into getting the tank i have that'd be perfect for a betta

  • im a fisher man and i usedto have a bowl but now i have massive tank over a grand o spent on it

  • Fish: oo pretty bowl!

    Fish: oo pretty bowl!

    Fish: oo pretty bowl!

    Fish: oo pretty bowl!

  • This is how a fish feels in a bowl..

Fish:Why does the owner hate me??

    Owner:It looks beatiful and cool

    Fish: "dies" X|

Owner: I shouldn't have kept it in a bowl.. :(

  • i have a bunch of fish in my Fish bowl and they seem happy. they breed rapidly so there fine.

  • the only fish that can live in a bowl is a Betta. any other type of fish should be in a tank with a filter.

  • I knew it I wanted a tank for my zebra danio and mom says they cost to much and are hard to take care of so no now I have to watch the dirty bowl my mom is supposed to clean it but she never ever does mabey just ones ever 3 months or somehting she doesn't know about the fish care I told her the fish care and she does not belive me. Great song too

  • its $15 and it has a filter and a light its not a bowl, its a one gallon tank i have a goldfish in and unable to get a bigger tank so im going to stick with a small one for now

  • i got a big nice filtered tank and my fish still died and i did every thing right so now i just get a 5 dollar bowl and buy 27 cent fish so when they die i get new ones :)

  • @spaid95 Fish are stressed when they go into a new tank - so it is natural to lose a few. You may have not introduced them to the tank correctly, so you may need to read up on that.

Perhaps, if you are just thinking about money and treating them like some little decoration, don't get fish at all. Stick with a pet rock. When my fish die, I try to learn from my mistakes.

  • @oxShadowCatxo im not trying to save money its just i want to buy a cheap one so if does live then ill get more and a bigger tank but if it dies ill do what yous said, try and learn why.

  • @spaid95 But putting it in a cheap and inadequate bowl is just giving it a poorer standard of living - and more chances of dying. You should continue with the better tank, and then constantly learn from any mistakes there. Also, read books or look on the internet about getting fish, its habitat, its feeding habits and the water quality it needs. I can see what you are doing, but with living creatures it is better to invest a bit more time and money - instead of working from the bottom.

  • Just because the bowl looks cute, doesn't mean its ok to put your fish in!

  • bettas can be fine in a gallon ( NO SMALLER AT ALL) i have one in a gallon and he is so healthy and beautiful!!

  • My betta is in a large pickle jar with a few plants and pebbles... And he's swimming around happy as can be.

Besides, bowls are easier to clean.

  • i agree i have had fish in bowls when i started now all my fish are in tank

  • This is actually very contrversial. You SHOULD keep a Betta or small goldfish in a bowl or at least a gallon small tank. And Goldfish build ammonia more then any other fish. A Betta though prefer to live a bowl or gallon tank i mean unless you add a tetra or something like that. So its not INHUMANE by any means. As long as you do regular water changes your fish will be fine. And P.S. its informative so im not hating or trolling just stating the facts and P.S.S. I hate the song -_-

  • @BigDaddyGamer96

    no fish have a 3 second memory.........sigh

  • @melliott3707 actually they dont have a three second memory, everyone underestimates fish. fish are VERY smart. considering you can teach them tricks and they remember. what they remember is the food, just like cats or dogs. and btw, u dont have to be a know-it-all!

  • I kept my beta and goldfish in a bowl for my whole life and they have been fine.Just clean the bowls alot.

  • @LBBP26 i agree

  • @pippy903 aw i love you for that!

  • Thank you so much for posting this! I have an adorable little Betta fish, and when I first bought him I was horrified to get home and learn (from online forums) that everything they'd told me at the pet store was false! They said a 1 gallon tank or bowl was fine, never mentioned conditioning or cycling the water, and failed to say anything about a heater and lighting :(. I'm lucky that I happened to check.

  • ye this is so wrng....pet shops here in india say dat bettas can b kept in small bowls or evn disposable glasses...dats sch cruelty....bettas r d most bright n playful fish i hav evr seen n ppl r jst assholes keepin thm as decorations n show offs....i had a betta in a small bowl for abt an year wen i had no knowledge abt thm...bt wen i knew n got a 5gal for it...its so happy n playful nw...it evn jumps out of water to get d food.....luved d video...ty.......

  • I HAVE A BETTA IN A BOWL!! OH :-(, after the first day of having the bowl i thought that this was a bad idea!!! im going to walmart and buying a 5 gallon tank with a filter

  • i love this vidoe! that is completely true! i hate when people are cruel to fish and think they dont need to have a good life... (:

  • @Madday18 Thank you so much! :)

  • @stephster575 youre welcome so much!(:

  • Your welcommeeee! :D

  • wow! THIS IS SOO TRUE! thanks 4 the info and my goldfishhh r now big! CHECK MY CHANNEL PLZ

  • @chubbyhamsterpie Thanks! :)

  • Hey i have a questing. If i make a video to show wear my fish and the tank will you tell me if it a safe and good tank there in i sooo dont want them to die

  • @americangirl101020 Okay, I'll take a look.

  • @stephster575 nice to see your love for animals...wow...keep it up...nice to meet another animal lover :)

  • im going to make a video of a fish out of water till it takes its last gulp just to prove to you, you are a dumb cunt

  • @MrEricrsm Yes, I'm the dumb one.. trying to save animals from people like you and making the world a better place. Oh yeah, I'm definitely super dumb. I wish I was as smart as you.

  • @MrEricrsm Oh wow, It's people like yourself who are so arrogant that you can't even care about another living thing. Fish have LIVES TOO, And deserve the best we have to offer. NOT bowls, Or sick, Degrading people like you. Seriously, How would you like it if I stuck your head underwater, And not let you take your last ''gulp'' of air until you drowned? Does that sound fucked up? Yes. Yes, It IS a fish, And it deserves to be treated like a living being. NOT someones sick way of humour. Grow up!

  • @brennansheppard1994 Thank you.. Brennan is right.

  • @MrEricrsm And really? Swearing? That doesn't make you look stupid . . . . Much. :') And by suffercating a fish, What would you be proving? That sick, Twisted human beings actually do this to innocent animals? Yes, What a point you will be proving. I'm actually disgusted to be of the same species as you! A fish is an animal, And animal with rights. Stephster575 is 100% in her right to make a video to express her, And other people's opinion. And it's people like you we want to protect fish from.

  • @MrEricrsm We should hold you under water.... and see long it takes you? heartless bastard.

  • Comment removed

  • @MrEricrsm LOL!!! Are you kidding me? :') Writing such childish and low comments on my channel? :') It's too bad I approve them before they show up. :') Grow up kid, And maybe we'll help drown you? Made me chuckle. :') Thanks for that! :') Your too cowardly to back up your words? And not even comment back? I mean, You have nothing on your channel, So why the hell do people like you comment? Don't you actually have a life to live? Clearly not. :') Pathetic.
