Most men who have served in the military, and once we have matured some, we have respect for others that put themselves into harm's way. I served alongside 41 Commando, Royal Marines while being assigned to the 4th Marine Amphibious Brigade in 1976. I have never seen a more bad ass bunch of guys who I would hope would be on my flanks when the shit hit the fan. I have long admired the steadfastness of the Brits. God Save the Queen!

I am in no position to judge who does better in the battlefield. Wasnt trying to imply that the chinese are superior to the British, just my personal opinion. I am only with the Army Cadet Force so I cant really say "Oh this military is the best in the world!", I only have basic knowledge of militaries. Sorry about that.

No one thinks about the insane bastards that actually were Grenadiers throwing grenades in the front of a line of infantry.They were kind of like suicide bombers today I guess.Only that the grenades in the 18th and 19th century tended to explode as often within ones own ranks as well as between the enemy ranks.

"Grenadiers" was the term given to the designated 'assault' company within a Battalion, just like you had a Light Company specifically trained in skirmishing. The Grenadier company comprised of the toughest, biggest and strongest men within the Battalion who aimed at CQC, urban warfare and breach-assaults. By the 18/19th Century in fact grenades all-but disappeared.

Most men who have served in the military, and once we have matured some, we have respect for others that put themselves into harm's way. I served alongside 41 Commando, Royal Marines while being assigned to the 4th Marine Amphibious Brigade in 1976. I have never seen a more bad ass bunch of guys who I would hope would be on my flanks when the shit hit the fan. I have long admired the steadfastness of the Brits. God Save the Queen!
