  • As for guitars: Quite often George Martin told Paul to play a guitar solo because George (Harrison) couldn't do it right, as in Taxman, for example. That was Paul playing lead guitar. And it was not the only one. Drums: Paul very, very often showed Ringo how to play or - as in "Ballad" or "Back In The USSR" - played by himself. John said in an interview: "How could Ringo be the best drummer of the world when he is not the best drummer of the Beatles?" Nevertheless they were all great!!

  • The Beatles are all four and they all made the spirit of the band. But John and Paul are 80 percent of the music (as George Martin himself said). And they both are equally gifted and talented! A few days before his murder John said that the both most important persons in his life are Yoko and Paul! Paul always regretted the lose of John in his music.

  • Lovely feel in this tune Paul is playing. I like the idea that is melody bound. Cool.

  • a passage from The Liverpool Oratorio, in its infancy

  • it was accually recorded for the unreleased album "Return To Pepperland"

the idea was turned down by emi

  • isnt this the video of FINE LINE?

  • Where was this sourced from? Thank you.

  • Very Clever --- Enjoyed it Brillantly done Cheers from L.pool

  • fake!

strings part in taken form Liverpool Oratorio.

  • hey do you guys know where i can find a christian music that has a beat like what the black eyed peas does??

  • Paul is not a Christian. Paul repent and you will enter the heaven above when you

go. Not sure if George will be there or John. Sorry.....lol Ringo, repent too.

  • @jpsmart59 You don't have to be a Christian to make it into the kingdom of Christ, God does not hold you accountable for things you aren't aware of, I am a Christian, God died for him and even the angels who fell, if he accepts Christ, his salvation has already been made

  • awesome love it!

  • How do I get this version of this song? I love this! I do have the Liverpool Oratorio version but I really want this one. Thanks to anyone who knows how to get it :)

  • @Trevornator

This the section called "The wedding", from Liverpool Oratorio, is very beautiful with the whole orchestra, strings, totally classical, but with this tempo, It´s Beautiful

  • @kitroser1 yes I do know it is from the Liverpool Oratorio, I have it on my computer. But I am wondering where I can get this version from. Thanks anyways :)

  • @Trevornator

It seems to me (I did not hear this "pop version" neither), and I do not think it is in any album, maybe Paul just felt to improvise, and arranged it as pop. Remember that it was a Brad Davis/McCartney composition, and maybe he rewrote this particular track. But, I am wondering, who and why called it "Christian Pop"? it does not have anything to do with any part of Liverpool Oratorio, it is not a religious piece. End of the controversy. :)

  • @kitroser1 I know this is not called Christian Pop. and I know Paul didnt release it anywhere. I think someone got s bootleg of this version cus the person uploaded the song edited the video from "Fine LIne" so i was wondering where he got it from lol.

  • FAKE. THAT MUSIC IS NOT PM!!!

  • @riverdale999 It is Paul-this is an unreleased Paul track from the 80's but this video is edited from a different song-Fine Line

  • Comment removed

  • McCartney brilliance shining brightly! Excellent!

  • GEORGE WAS THE ALMIGHTY BEATLE!!!

  • crap

  • This is from the "Liverpool Oratorio" is called The Crypt!! Is so beautiful! Check it out in its final version .

  • if this doesn't put some spirituality in you....

  • I favour Paul with an orchestra..don't you?

  • he's good no matter who he plays with- some songs are good with orchestra-some without.

  • @4FabBEATLES simply an expression..thanks for your take.

  • The video was made recent ??

  • Is this just dubbed over his video, "Fine Line?"

  • Yeah. It's cut up and rearranged to fit the music better. And there's a bit from a Ecce Cor Meum video. (When strings are introduced to ths song.)

  • Great stuff Paul, John always needed you!

  • dont say that they needed each other equally.

  • @EzraLionHeart1 thats not true! Paul is a great musician i agreed, but lennons solo career its really beatifull and didn't needed paul to do it....They are different musicans that complemented great in Beatles...But their solo carrers are both great

  • @EzraLionHeart1

It is not a fake, it is the section of Liverpool Oratorio, called "the Wedding" and with the whole orchestra is fenomenal.

This is called Paul McCartney Christian Pop, just as a piece that he thought was different of any Yeah, Yeah, Yeah!!

  • @EzraLionHeart1 Paul was as important in the Beatles as John. They were equals. John has said Paul was a necessary ingredient in the Beatles. Synergy, just pure synergy. And let's not forget George nor Ringo. (Rings may have been the least Beatle but he provided the beat that drove the sound!)

  • @jimidee33 Exactly! The Beatles wouldn't be anything without Paul or John or George or Ringo.

John created the band. Paul learned John guitar chords. George was the best guitarplayer. And Ringo was the ultimate drummer. Pete Best was good, but it wouldn't be the same if he was the drummer instead of Ringo. They were all important. :)

(Sorry if my English is not good)

  • wow this is awesome.

  • The actual name for this song is Christian BOP.

    Please change it. Thank you

  • its really "Fine Line" by Paul Mccartney- someone just put that music over the video of paul- lame

  • @4FabBEATLES Not really. What you call "that music" is an authentic Paul McCartney unreleased track and the video is just for illustration.

  • Did you mean that in a good way or a bad way?

  • really kool :D

  • paul McCartney is the Greatest Musician Alive!

  • I saw Paul play at Cohellhole, he was Fintistic, in a dildistic fansonic fashion, what a majestro

i love paul, much luff -dk

  • Not bad ;-D

  • I think the original title of this is really Christian Bop. I remember reading something about it. But I could be wrong. What the hell - it's a really nice piece.

  • fantastic!

  • iF HE WERE PUCCINI OR BIZET YOU WOULD SAY - THEIR ARTISTIC LEVEL, EXCELLENT!. IF IT IS MCCARTNEY YOU SAY - IS IT HIM REALLY?

IN TWO HUNDRED YEARS TIME FROM NOW PEOPLE WILL FIND OUT HE WAS THE GREATEST MELODIST IN HISTORY OF MUSIC E.G - DEAR BOY. CELEBRATION., WARM AND BEAUTIFUL. SAVE THE CHILD, A LEAF LOVE IN THE OPEN AIR, YESTERDAY, SONG FOR JESUS (FIXING A HOLE). ELEANOR RIGBY, MIDWIFE, TUESDAY. LET IT BE, SHE'S LEAVING HOME

  • Jesteś kretynem paul195614.

Mam nadzieję, że nie mieszkasz w Polsce.

  • Wat een gepiel. In English: MUZAK

  • Paul do play drums.. I think it is when Ringo Starr, decided to quit the band for 1day, i think, then paul played the drums...

  • It should be "plays" of course

  • Legendary drummer of the Who Keith Moon regarded Paul McCartney as a very good drummer with his own original style. Paul playes drums in "What's That You're Doing" (amazing Stevie Wonder -Paul McCartney composition).

I remember listening to "Tug of War" vinyl in the eighties of the XX century. Drums in that number sound like they were being played live in the room you're in!!

  • Does Paul really know how to play the drums to? Man....talk about talent!

  • Paul is a great drummer! He even played on some Beatle songs. He plays all the instruments on several of his albums.

  • I thought all was done in music.

    This is NEW MUSIC♪

    My true congratulations Macca♪

  • If it was anybody other than Paul McCartney, I'd say, "Yeah, so what?".

  • Again, I cannot thank you enough for posting this. Only possibly correct some who keep mentioning that the above was recorded in 1987prior to the "Flowers in the Dirt" era and just after Press to Play? I don't think so....just my opinion. The video filmed above is clearly from this century, and I have never seen anything to indicate that Macca was that serious about classical in the mid-eighties (other than the extended Eleanor Rigby version from Broad St.).

    Ram on,

    Joe.

  • Also, I cannot emphasize enough...only my opinion. I notice above that you do mention the film footage is from the Fine Line sessions which makes sense.

    thanks!!

    Ram on,

    Joe.

  • One more time. The video has nothing to do with the audio. The video is "Fine Line" from the Chaos album, with some video thrown in from Ecce Cor Meum. It was definitely recorded in 1987 with Phil Ramone. Paul himself has spoken about it. As far as Paul and classical music, Paul wrote the entire classical film score to the movie, The Family Way, back in 1966 and won an Ivor Novello award for it.

  • Yes, true concerning "The Family Way", however, Paul took a very long hiatus from pure classical after that soundtrack was released. Do some math...1966 to 1987?

Also, what is this "one more time" crap?

  • Lindalyons1, I confirmed that this is indeed from the Pepperland sessions from credible Beatle sources that I know (not you). FYI, I had initially noticed that you have only been a Youtube member for a few weeks, and you are reportedly only 47 (i.e. how much could one know about 1966's Family Way soundtrack being 5 yrs. old at the time?)...now go away please....nobody likes rudeness and sarcasm.

    Thanks and Ram on,

    Joe.

  • Some of us actually have the knowledge without having to go and confirm things. We know Macca's history. Maybe you should study it further before posting. If you didn't even recognize the "Fine Line" video footage, you need a lot of catching up. I know alot about WWI and WWII, I wasn't there for those either, so your ageism comment is ridiculous. I own the Family Way soundtrack. Do you?

  • Yes I do own the Family Way and many other pieces of Beatles history that you nothing about. You know nothing....believe me. You obviously try to make up for lack of intelligence with your smug attitude.

  • Also Linlyon, or Lindalyin1, btw, how many screen names do you go by? I also think it is too funny that you think that you are a Macca expert because you own The Family Way soundtrack. Just some advice, I would re-check your copy, you were probably duped into buying a bootleg copy...they do exist.

  • Give it a break. Any true Macca fan knows the story of this song, recognizes footage from a Macca video, and would never post this statement: "some who keep mentioning that the above was recorded in 1987 prior to the "Flowers in the Dirt" era and just after Press to Play? I don't think so....just my opinion. The video filmed above is clearly from this century".....

You know Beatles and Paul history? I don't think so.

  • Give it up......you are repeating yourself...no match...lol.

  • Go catch up on your Macca history and learn something. Then maybe you can post something informative instead of questioning proven facts.

  • There's my point...I have actually lived Beatles and Macca history...you just keep reading about it...go back to Google.

  • Just some advice, you would be much better off not going at with me.....you are no match on an intellectual basis and/or from a Beatles history standpoint. Please refrain from embarrassing yourself any further....

  • Linlyon, this keeps getting interesting. I just noticed that you are now 30 yrs old on this screen name (47 on your other screen name)?? I guess being thirty years old explains why you only seem to be able to write about the Pepperland sessions that you have "read about"...keep reading my friend...

  • Thankfully Linlyon now has Google...ha ha.

  • You're 50 years old to my 47. Yeah, you lived as much first hand as I did. What a joke. Now you are making a fool of yourself. It was YOU that knew nothing of the facts of the subject at hand per your posts. You already illustrated how intellectually deficient your knowledge is.

  • 47 yrs old huh...LOL, you have zero credibility....

  • I'd love to be 30 again. If you look at the two personal videos I have posted, I'm the blonde, and I take it as a great compliment that I look 30. Thanks so much!

  • I'm sure that you have your reasons for misleading some people into thinking that you are 30 yrs old (as you have posted on your profile). I would rather not know any more about your personal life...sounds a little creepy....

  • Yep. Very good reasons when I set that up over 2 1/2 years ago. Identify theft, which was happening to a lot of people at the time from internet profiles.

  • LOL, yes I read about that: Idenity theft on You Tube......I'll give you one thing, you are a laugh a minute...

  • You truly show your ignorance. You should teach yourself a few things regarding the internet. Identity theft from internet profiles has been going on for several years with hackers as social websites have gotten bigger. Guess you don't keep on current events. If you did, you would have seen some articles of recent where identity theft from Facebook and Myspace profiles jumped over 500% in the past year. Ignorance is bliss. Maybe you should learn to explore a subject before you comment on it.

  • It was one of the recordings that came from his sessions with Phil Ramone in 1987. It was recorded at the International Christian Community Studios in Sussex, hence the title. Paul spoke about it during a radio interview in NY when he was promoting the Liverpool Oratio at Carnegie Hall (which I was at). I've also heard him mention Pizza and Fairytales in an interview because the subject being talked about was bootlegs, and he thought it was great, as he was a big collector himself.

  • To think of this from just a common sense point. Who in their right mind would steal a two minute melody from an Oratorio of Macca's, and spend a load of money recording it along with a full orchestra for it to be released on a bootleg? Paul may not be an innovative drummer, but he has a very distinctive style, and that is him drumming as clear as day.

  • Another great one from the melody genius.

  • Paul has spoken about this piece previously. He recorded it. Paul's drumming style is clear as day on this. He did it at the same time as Return to Pepperland in 1987, and the melody showed up on Liverpool Oratorio.

  • Correct title is "Christian Bop" not 'Pop'. The bootleggers got it wrong.

  • Incredible...not sure how Paul can keep coming up with these incredible melodies.

    thank you for posting.

    Ram on,

    Joe.

  • Melody itself sounds like the work of OLD MASTER. Classical invention which you are born with or you do not have it at all.

That piece has that classical undefined drive which makes you imagine the moves of conductor's hands at work.

  • wow thats really great!!!

  • excuse me... this is NOT paul mccartney!!!

someone else maybe wrote this but not paul!!!

the editing is good,, it makes it look like its paul. but its not! this aint one of his songs.. (sorry to dissapoint)

paul makes much better stuff than this!!

  • This IS Paul. It was part of the Oratorio- though changed a bit. And every part of this sounds like a Paul piece. Everyone has a right to an opinion - but seriously - I'm not sure how anyone couldn't love it. This is awesome. Sure sounds like the man on drums as well. I wish this would be released on a comprehensive Paul archival disc. Fantastic stuff.

  • Excuse me.....it's clear you don't know much about Paul or his catalog. This certainly is him and there has been a bootleg of this song around for years, and then Paul used the melody in Liverpool Oratorio. Someone just put the video to Fine Line to the music.

  • yow.. this is great!

  • He has a tremendous gift for melody.

  • god....I just fall deeper and deeper in love with him..

  • Multi-talented Paul!!!

  • Класс!!!

  • it's funny.

    i like it.

  • nicely mixed

  • long time since I didn't listened to something so good from Paul!!

  • SpinelessSausage...........You are so right! This tune is right up there with "Oh Woman Oh Why" and "Beware My Love". Eat me...

  • ...great... thanks for this video

  • OMG...this track just blew me away! I didn't expect the strings towards the end.....

thank you so much for making my day with this one!

    Ram on,

    Joe.

  • This is just great :) I love it. Where did you get this track? Is it from the album Pizza And Fairy Tales? I like this version better than the Movement III - Crypt 2 from the Liverpool Oratorio. Thanks.

  • Return to Pepperland sessions bootleg

  • I have to ask the same thing, WHY is it called "Christian Pop?" It's GOOD though!!

  • It's just one of the classical pieces from The Liverpool Oratorio which Paul is apparently having fun with playing himself at a much faster temp then the original. The video does not match this, the video I think is from the Chaos and Creation in the Backyard period.

  • It matches a bit, but yes the video is from C&C. It's the "Fine Line" video. Then there's some Ecce Cor Meum stuff. It's in the description by the way. ;)

  • Summer4autumn: Clueless baboon fucker. Ed

  • If you look know one agrees with you. So fuck you very much, and welcome to the friendly confines of You-Tube. Add me as a friend I will teach you how to appreciate music. And keep feeding that baboon. Have a blessed day.

  • I´m agree with boneless

  • It's an unreleased Paul song set to different video.

  • It is a Paul song. His classical piece. You are one of those glass half empty guys I suspect. Realizing one thing but not seeing the other. Age is catching up to you my old friend, and slapping you right in the head. Ed

  • There are many songs that need releasing by Paul... this is one of them.

  • Yes and "india" too. Type:- "mccartney india" above.

  • This is nice-especially when the orchestra appears-shd do more of this now his voice is so croaked

  • Wow...AMazing!

  • This is good! Why did he call it "Christian Pop?"

  • It's actually "Christian Bop".

  • U know what we need? A dedicated Macca cable/satellite/radio channel with Macca stuff 24/7. Show all these little tid-bits....

I would NEVER get any sleep!

  • Amen.

  • I couldn't agree more, I'd pay serious money for that.

  • how did you get this??

  • This is fantastic editing man! XD

  • Paul makes up his on rules...Bip bop to this...

  • Paul is scary again,amazing.

  • Boy was he having fun and so was I. An oddly powerful quasi-classical piece that is totally unique. And it works.

  • EXCUSE ME !!! I CAN'T FIND WORDS !!!

  • I CAN'T WORD'S !!!!

  • Certainly amusing.

  • Brilliant! I wish he would've released this!

  • increible

  • I like what you did with this rare gem of a song. It's one of many unheralded McCartney insrumentals. Great video editing job!

  • This is just as good as his other stuff. Would have been cool if he finished it up.

  • amen?!

    why christian?...

  • Hey people- someone just edited the Fine Line video to the tune of this old Macca instrumental- great editing job.

  • tell us where can we see it

  • Why is it called Christian Pop? Theres nothing Christian about it..

  • genius

  • A genius

  • Wow! This is really powerful.I love it!

  • Perfectly awesome! Great deed!

  • That's the set from that appears in the CHAOS AND CREATION DVD that came with the deluxe edition of the CD, so this performance is from 2005. Veru nice, stirring music from the Liverppol Oratorio. I will have to look on my CD for that Oratorio for the exact title. Genius Macca!

  • If I'm not wrong this tune can be heard in "Liverpool Oratorio". But I like this version best. One of my favourite Paul's unreleased songs.

  • This IS a tune from Liverpool Oratorio, and it is excellent. I don't get the "Christian" part though; its just classical.

  • He should have released this cool song, it's different.

    Fun video dude.

  • Well done
