Equilibrium was a good film, but it didn't require much from Bale acting wise. He was cool, nothing more. On the other hand, the films listed here are far less mainstream and far more sophisticated in terms of Bales performances. And you call yourselves Bale fans. Pheh. He didn't even enjoy making Equilibrium that much. Do a little research before you throw a hissie fit at some guys top ten list. It's HIS fucking list. Go make your own.

Christian Bale isn't the most naturally talented actor but what he lacks in raw intuition he makes up for in a ridiculous work ethic and he takes acting very seriously, almost to point of being unhealthy in fact. He's a little overrated I think because people particularly women tend to glorify him because he's good looking. But I also think his best work is still ahead of him, most actors don't win Oscars until they are in their forties anyway.

If he had either A) been able to pull off the accent, or B) didn't play the role, the film would have been amazing. I stand by my opinion of Depp's performance as top-notch, but Bale's was awful. He delivered his lines like he had to remember how to enunciate each word.
