    Nothing

    Since

    Frisco

  • Long live the Santa Fe.Burlington Northern ruined them.

  • i dont understand why everyone shoots the power and the cabeese...... they miss all the meat and potatoes!?! especially in this one miss the autoracks, and boxcars, but shot the lease grain cars....... i shoot the whole train, cant do any less

  • Bring BN back!

  • @kmothersil GOOD BN CAN GO THERE QWN WAY

    ATSF WILL RISE AGAIN

  • It is nice to see a caboose at the end of the trains.

  • 1:34 to 1:55! PURE EMD POWER! I love how it gets all over modulated. I love EMD 2 strokes! THAT'S REAL POWER! 15,000 HORSES! EMD IS ENERGY, MUSCLE, AND DEPENDIBLITY! HELL YEAH! 5***** and faved!

  • Glad to see those BN units working hard.

  • Never really been much of a BN fan, but that string of EMD "green beans" look good on the point of that BN freight. Love those Santa Fe warbonnets in Blue/Yellow. Made my day. Great horn, too. Mike in Fresno, Ca.

  • Yah those were the days, Love the power lashups.

  • I always enjoy watching these pre-BNSF merger videos of BN and ATSF. Love the RS3L on the ATSF unit.

  • That's Tchiakovsky to a Santa Fe Fan's ears. Not that god-awful sound that comes from Trains of today. Mike in Fresno, Ca.

  • @ATSFMike Yeah at one time you could tell what railroad was running by the different horns. Like out here in Indiana back in the 1980s Conrail, Chessie, and NW all had diffent horns.

  • nice old Ft Worth and Denver caboose on that first train I miss the old BN its just not the same anymore

  • Bring back the caboose!!! fred sucks

  • I agree with you on that

  • sf has the best horn ever!!! BN SF LOVE EM AND I BNSF NOT AS GOOD AS EITHER

  • 2nd train has a sweet RS3L.

  • yah that is nice a classic old ATSF whistle

  • This is fuuny as hell, I thought I was posting this onto another video!!! WHOOPS should have looked up at my screen!>? O well ill just copy it to the other video!

  • I dont think the guy saw me standing behind my wife! I am not your average looking rail fan. I am 5'11 242 sleeved on both arms with tats and on my neck, I also lift and train everyday, the guy looked like O SHIT when he saw me. Anyway it was funny becuse half the time we see trains the crews look at me like what is someone like this railfanning! Dont worry im not bragging its just funny people think rail fans are all nerds?

  • Your right for sure. I took pictures of a SD-70m-2 today. It was funny we were out at the local Toledo area ore and coal docs ona public road when a truck nearly hit me and my wife. It was a CSX truck with what apperaed to be a train master or someone in it. He asked us what we were doing!?! I told him we were taking pictures he said we were tresspassing! I told him to fuck off we were on a public road period! An interesting conversation insued, which I won the for sure.

  • Great video. I miss the days of old school railroading. I mean where my dad just retired from at CSX all of the older guys are passing away now. All of the older engines, buildings, and ways of RR are going away too! I live In toledo and times are def changing here! A lot of frieght but its not the same. the are tearing down so much of our past. And now the Canadian frogs are trying to buy out all of our rail systems.

  • I feel you, where I'm from in southern BC Canada RR lines are in fear of shutting down in the past few yrs, the most recent line to get pulled up was near my town. When I look at old train pics of former lines that are torn up I feel they should be rebuilt and put back to freight and passenger service. What else pisses me off is when the government fucks up the rail system by turning former rail yards into housing development or using trucks instead of trains it's like WHAT WERE THEY THINKING!!!

  • Yeah, they did the same thing here in Central California with the Santa Fe's old divisional lines. There's hardly a trace of anything Santa Fe once owned, save the main line through the valley- And they got rid of all the old Searchlight Signals on that, along with the pole lines. The farmers have all but obliterated Any trace of the ATSF Visalia Sub. And what's sicker than that, No One pays any homage to the Santa Fe. It's all about UP and SP. No one really remembers the Santa Fe here.

  • I wish they never got meager

I wish it could be ATSF UP SP BN CR CSX MP and NS all these so we could all see their paint scheme

    Instead of them disappearing

  • I like the Prime 990 on the first train.

  • I like the Prime 990 on the first train.

  • why did they used to put trailer cars and freight together and they dont do it anymore?

  • Now those are real trains! They have cabooses!

  • awesome video

  • SD40-2 one of the best invented locmotives

  • WOW - cabeese! I miss them. Very nice, thanks for posting it.

  • Wow, not bad for 24 years ago.

  • very cool
