these old 78s can take one hello of a beating & scuffing & still play strong & clear like yours does. Most people that originally bought these (as well as old country or hillbilly 78s) probably never took care of them, lost the sleeves and they were shuffled around place to place for 80 years getting scuffed & beat up.
