Christopher Hitchens is now decomposing. This is the fate that awaits us all, and he dealt with his death with dignity and honesty.

Others deal with it by rejecting the truth and denying death, prefering to believe in a god that will transport them to heaven where their soul will live in eternal bliss. Sounds nice.................

I am surprised that a western educated doctor has a worldview complosed of only 2 regligions! You justify freedom in christianity by only comparing it to islam. Didn't many religions and races seek refuge in India for over 2500 years? Isn't that freedom?

Are you saying that if Hitchens turned to God during his last days of his life, God will allow him into HEAVEN?

Are you saying God will forgive and forget all his previous sins?

This would mean Hitler and other mass murderers could avoid going to HELL. All they have to do is say sorry to GOD and their past crimes would be forgiven, and they could spend their time in Heaven.

My tribute to Christopher Hitchens is that, though wrong in regards to Jesus, he fought for what mattered to him & fought well. I found myself agreeing with him at times. Sometimes he won against Christians. Sometimes he lost but made a point that was more powerful than the debate itself.

Like when he said, "There was 1 person excommunicated from the Catholic church during WWII & it was for marrying a Protestant" score for pointing out our light is getting dim. Good point Christopher Hitchens.

Nothing against those people, but pairing up Hitch with people with less skills was par for his course....The problem lies when anyone of any skill becomes his opponent. Same things happens in Christian debates all the time, and I wonder why they would set it up as well. But when you place 2 men of equal footing at the podium....Hitchens fell short....Repeatedly.

Freedom of speech was not a tenet of Christianity. It is an unprecidented doctrine of the constitution and bill of rights. Christopher Hitchens had no desire to destroy religion. He didn't really mock it either. He criticised it. He didn't "reject" religion, he merely claimed that he had no compelling reason to believe it's tenets nor that there was evidence to believe it the existence of a diety.

Now I will tell you something. The LORD Jesus sent me a terrible sickness 7 years ago, but I did not repent after healing me. 2 years later I gave my life to Christ. My career was destroyed because of this sickness & something else happened 2 which I will not elaborate on. Jesus Christ is REAL my friend, that I know. Most Christians are also NOT Christians. The LORD Jesus told me & that they are on the way to Hell. Read Matthew 7:13-21 !
