@jfact23 I always thought of it like he's missing 'her'. A Hole in the Pocket can cause many problems, especially if you have cash. Cash falls through the hole, lost forever. I think this is what he means. He's lost something incredibly valuable to him, something that can't ever be replaced. Some people also think that this woman took him for every penny he had, leaving him 'out of pocket' with no cash left. Hence the hole in his pocket thats about her size. I think the former is more correct.

Not sure how the religion thing came up but my relation to the song is that he's talking about love. When you break up with somebody you love more than anything, you hope everything will be alright. no it's cool, if you like his music you'll like it live. it's him and his guitar with a drummer, bassist and keyboard player so it has some more power and they're all good performers. he is worth seeing if you like his music! i can't really be sure about the people that go to see him because when I saw him he was supporting jools holland so it was a jools crowd rather than a josh crowd but people seemed really into him and that was a friendly crowd.
