iv 2 of them one is near 13 the oller is just one yr old, they dont like gettin shouted at, shout stright at them and keep eye contact, the young one is gettin there, anytime it trys 2 pee inside the house give it a roar an open a door stright away, takes a while but it works belive me, only listens 2 my father but lol same as all the dogs we had, he can walk the old westie up and down the street across main roads an it wont leave his side for anything!

I've never needed to shout at my westies for going to pee, dogs need to pee the same as humans do, how would you like it if someone shouted at you because you needed to pee, have'nt you heard of toilet training, you place a piece of newspaper down and then gradually put it closer and closer to the door and then eventually outside, you should never shout at a dog because it needs to do a natural bodily function, the dog will think its bad because it needs to go to pee, totally wrong!

Just be patient and keep trying. Westies are very intelligent, but stubborn. I can relate to the fun part also; mine is coming up on 6 years age, and I have never previously owned a dog with such character.
