Very good French diction indeed. The style is still borderline Italian but it's not in the least unpleasant, it's just wonderfully different and I love it! Voices like that are way too rare and "Tenor di grazia" suits him perfectly.

Son Français est très bon, Cet air n'est pas facile, la tessiture est très haute . Gilles écoute le La eEmuette de AILES est italienne, tout le reste est excellent.

@joanabanyeres the mute e in front of a consonant is not mute at all in traditional french pronunciation, in particular that used in traditional singing.

Che bella voce! Schipa was a wonderful tenore di grazie.He had superb phrasing and diction.His voice was light but was well projected and controlled.I love the wonderful pianissimi at the end,almost sotto voce.Bravo Schipa!

excelent as always, you should listen to and interview here on youtube, it´s incredible how different is schipa's spoken voice compared to his singing voice. Shows how good his technique was.
