um, hate to break it to you guys, but this song is not about Jesus. It is about Merlin. Yeah, Merlin. The events from this song are a first person account of a scene from the book "That Hideous Strength" by C. S. Lewis. Dont believe me? Read to book. It is an excellent piece of literature. So are the other two books in the Space Trilogy. Many other songs from this album are based off of that series.

@jesusmetal92107 I know many songs from this CD are based on CS Lewis' Space Trilogy and I've read That Hideous Strength. I think most likely the band's intent with this song was to reference both things (Jesus's resurrection and the scene from That Hideous Strength).

@will2asher you are very close. Lewis beat BTA to the punch. I think that part of the book makes connections to jesus, but BTA flushed it out. they are not singing about jesus per say, rather providing a sparknotes for the book, if you will.

@metalheadabr sorry, but you dont have you facts straigh. first of all, merlin never died, so he can not be allegorical to jesus. ransom is the jesus figure in all of the books. the name gives it away for crying out loud. merlin was simply a supporting character representing nobody.
