um, hate to break it to you guys, but this song is not about Jesus. It is about Merlin. Yeah, Merlin. The events from this song are a first person account of a scene from the book "That Hideous Strength" by C. S. Lewis. Dont believe me? Read to book. It is an excellent piece of literature. So are the other two books in the Space Trilogy. Many other songs from this album are based off of that series.
@jesusmetal92107 I'm sorry, but is simply ridiculous thought. Can you explain why you think that the band intended it that way? Not just opinions, but links to blogs websites of the band that express such a viewpoint.
@jesusmetal92107 I know many songs from this CD are based on CS Lewis' Space Trilogy and I've read That Hideous Strength. I think most likely the band's intent with this song was to reference both things (Jesus's resurrection and the scene from That Hideous Strength).
@will2asher you are very close. Lewis beat BTA to the punch. I think that part of the book makes connections to jesus, but BTA flushed it out. they are not singing about jesus per say, rather providing a sparknotes for the book, if you will.
@jesusmetal92107 and i hate to break it to you that CS Lewis bases most of his books on events from the Bible. Have all the facts before you open your mouth. This whole record is about Jesus and God because this band is Christian. Just sayin.
@metalheadabr sorry, but you dont have you facts straigh. first of all, merlin never died, so he can not be allegorical to jesus. ransom is the jesus figure in all of the books. the name gives it away for crying out loud. merlin was simply a supporting character representing nobody.
So far I love every song on this album, but my only thing is I am dissapointed comparing the bass riffs from this to there first album, can someone give me a song on this album that competes with the bass riffs on Elegy? if you can please do so.
It's not so new anymore.

Very true. Elegy was insane, but I still enjoy both albums equally. Great stuff.
