Have you considered cheating and playing the same clip multiple times with different hue changes? (E.g. to get a green/red lightsaber). I don't know what software you use, but a lot of video editors allow this quite easily. You could also bulk-edit the individual frames with a photo editor. Your skin and the environment (sky, grass) would change too, but hey, you could just say you're an alien on another planet.
