this had to be one of the most epic scenes in ROTK. but honestly, i still dont see how one tiny arrow would be enough to bring down a mumakil. their skulls must be incredibly thick given their size; i highly doubt one arrow would cause a lot of damage

actually, as I see it, he shoots three arrows (two maybe) shortly behind the skull, meaning he shoots them at an angle that'll make them penetrate the head of the Mumak without having to go through the skull itself... doubt it'd work, though

I SOOOO LOVE THIS SCENE. My bad if u were in the NYC area during the 1st weekend of this film release. I was 1 of the ones hootin n hollerin during this scene. I was sooo in love wt legolas ever since the 1st movie. Then Will Turner in Pirates. Looking fwd. to the next Pirates. Should b the last 1. Orlando Bloom is totally HOTTNESS personafied!!!!! Love his accent. But then again who doesn't?!!!

orlando is great. but normally he doesnt look so thin i think..perhaps its because hes acting in an elve role, and elves are very thin and tall...but he does a great job :)

I'd imagine so. They had Liv Taylor lose a lot of weight and Sean Austin gain a lot. Probably Jackson figured that elves would look very thin and graceful.

The Lord Of The Rings trilogy really has some of the most extreme Visual Effects work ever made.

These movies are a prime example of how just about anything can be achieved/realised in a movie these days. Just f***in' amazing!
