  • I WANT ONE SO FREAKING BADLY.

  • alda willst du mich verarschen ?

ich hab genug internet für heute, bin in der marktschänke wenn ihr was wollt.

  • like this if u saw the camera reflection lol

  • TKKG!

  • Where can you get these? Are they expensive? Is it possible to get them in America? Do they live well alone? Can you get them in California? My friend really wants one! She asked me all these crazy questions! lol

  • @theboltz1001 yes you can have one in california they do very well on there own but dont keep more than 1 juvinile per tank as they an be cannible at this age but once they are adults they should be fine together and if you keep looking you might find one for about 20 dollors you need at least a ten gallon tank for one axolotl with a extra ten for every other one make sure your friend finds a good source of info about them so that they are prepared for the special attincion they need.

  • @roosteemon If you would like to contact me send ur comments to supergirl601100 not theboltz1001! Thanks!

  • I did a power point on axolotls a few months ago for school and had the best presentation. I wonder why...

  • I did not LOL...

  • As of 2010[update], wild axolotls are near extinction[1] due to urbanization in Mexico City and polluted waters. Nonnative fish such as African tilapia and Asian carp have also recently been introduced to the waters. These new fish have been eating the axolotls' young, as well as its primary source of food.[2] The axolotl is currently on the International Union for Conservation of Nature's annual Red List of threatened species.[3] Post this on all videos about Axolotl if you care :(

  • I wantz one :3

  • I heard you like mudkipz

  • Doc what kind of plants would you suggest to be put into the tank to encourage breeding ? and what else can i feed the spawns until they are able to eat live foods such as goldfish ? does the spawn need aeration too ? can i not put gravel ? gonna get a pair soon and would like to know more before jumping in thanks ^^

  • Wooper says hi! :D

  • That is a really beatiful one,

I have 4 to 2 black to white.

    I really like your It's a beautiful One ;)

  • haha, this is perfect axolotl music!

  • i hope mine will be as active as this one

  • @PokeKnot85

I have made a video about their being endangered months ago and by now they are considered extinct. Do you honestly think any of the keepers have their axolotls from the wild...? They have been in laboratories for decades and also in people´s homes and breed like crazy. Besides, almost every pet axolotl is by now a bastard, a scientist called Humphrey hybridised them with Ambystoma tigrinum decades ago which caused the first albinos. I know what I´m talking about, I´m a biologist.

  • @Punki80 Also, as their environment is shrinking in nature, an new artificial environment is opening up. You can compare that to the small numbers of wild north african cats that now exist with the domestic cat which is their descendant, living fairly good among people in new habitats.

  • @Punki80 Say it isn't so! All Axolotls are bastards? lol

  • @PokeKnot85 Actually now, axolotls are extinct. The only ones alive are in captivity.

  • @PokeKnot85 The axolotls you can buy a specially bred and cannot be released into the wild.

  • @PokeKnot85 The axolotls you can buy are specially bred and cannot be released into the wild.

  • @PokeKnot85

I currently work in a laboratory in which we genotype Axolotls, Tiger Salamanders and closely related species. In our gene lab we have thousands of Axolotls and in captivity axolotls are far from endangered. In the wild they are, true, and there main cause of dwindling numbers is that the inhabitants around Mexico City Lake have tendency to eat them.

I own two axolotls myself and judging by the gills and behavior of this Axolotl I would say it is quite healthy and quite happy.

  • @PokeKnot85 LOL Wikipedia.. the absolute most accurate thing in the world. Try searching them up on national geographic and you will find that they are actually recovering and there species has quickly grown up to 1200+ now. I doubt they boosted their population but 1200% in 10 months. So I do not believe your "100 axolotles of the nature".

  • @PokeKnot85 You know, axolotl's lives longer when you got them at home than when they are in the wild. So it is just nice to have them at home :)

  • Can they stay out of water?

  • What did you feed him before you made this video?? I mean it's so full of energy, mine only act like that after i fed them naked snails (or whatever they get called)

  • @Oilibomb

LOL, nothing special, he was just feeling like impressing the girls, ready for mating, because that´s what he is doing. They get all crazy and red because their blood pressure rises, and after a little while it´s all over.

  • @Punki80

I see, a real womanizer. My male is the most lazy axo in the tank, and I think he'll never get that active :p

  • is that some form of new pokemon?

  • can they be out of the water?

  • @Aricurm

No, that would kill them. Very very few of them develop into real salamanders that can live on land when they are fully developed, but most of them stay like that and would die within hours on dry land.

  • @Punki80 i have a question.i read online that its harmful for the axolotl to have chlorine in it. im scared that my tap water might have chlorine in it. how to i get water that is clean but doesnt have chlorine in it>>

  • @al05112

Well, we don´t have much of it in our water and I can use it straight away. I don´t know anything about the water where you are, but usually it helps to put some water in buckets or a tank and let it be, the chlorine will fade away after a day.

  • @Punki80 or cant we just use bottled water sorta thing

  • @Punki80 You can also buy some sprays for it.

  • @al05112 or buy dechlorinator at local pet shop.

  • please reply. i recently bought a new axolotl. i put them in the same tank. they are the same size.i watched for awhile and one of them kept biting the others tail. im not sure if there a boy or a girl their both around 6 inches. i have read that some stores sell tiger salamander larvae under the name of 'axolotl'.ones is black and one is blackish/charcoal grey. i am concerned about this. i have not heard of this before,

    thanks.

  • @frankendoodlmcnugget

They sometimes do bite each other, but it´s usually an accident because they can´t see very well and take anything that moves for food. I´ve never heard this had anything to do with their gender. If the one keeps biting and injuring the other, I would separate them (also if it´s wounded,in clean water).

Well, if one turns into a tiger salamander you will see if it is one ;). If so, I would also separate them. But I should wait and see, I figure the biting will stop soon.

  • @Punki80 what i saw at first was a little nip but then it bit and held on to his tail. just a little more detail.

  • @frankendoodlmcnugget I am not an axolotl maniac/owner/guru or anything, but they might both be males. they bite each other in there cannibalistic stage, and usually grow out of it in a few months/year. you need to separate them though.

  • איזה חמוד!

  • Hey I heard you can keep them alone..my tank is only 10 gallon I dunno if I can keep more than one.....please reply

  • @InuzukaKizu

You CAN keep them alone, but it´s a potential risk of infection if it´s female and can´t get rid of its spawn without a male. And it´s more fun anyway with a few more. 10 gallons is far too tiny, even for one, they need at least 30 when they´re grown up! Mine have 40.

  • awhh! I love when it pushes the rock!<3(:

  • cool

  • i cant see any dance... it is searching for food..

  • how much are they?

  • Sexy

  • yeah, this axolotl looks so fucking good... healthy and full of energy... congratulations...

  • you say not to keep them alone but no fish. I have read that axolotls tend to be cannibalistic so i shouldnt put a smaller one with it. So what should i put?? Pls reply!

  • @UchihaOdy

You should put axolotls of the same size together. It´s true they can be cannibalistic, but it can always happen that they bite each other, even if they are the same size. It´s because they can´t see very well and don´t know what they are biting. But if they are the same size it won´t kill one at least. And lost feet or bits of the tail grow again. But mine don´t bite each other.

  • ty :D

  • are they amphibian or what beacuse they have arms and feet

  • Amphibians, yes; amphibious, no. They have gills and can only breathe underwater.

Axolotls are a kind of neotonic salamander. That is, they're technically the larval phase of a certain kind of land salamander, but normally never metamorphose. Under certain extreme conditions, however, they can lose their gills and turn into an air-breathing land salamander similar to a Mexican Tiger Salamander.

In other words, they're like a kind of glorified tadpole.

  • i want one =D

  • LOL the music is outrageous!

  • isent it stressed. i whant one but im in britan dunno if i can get one here

  • Aww that's adorable! I'd love one but my tank's too small.

  • Where can I aquire one? I am in Canada

  • haha i want one called lola :D they are awesome!!!!

  • how much would they be in british pounds??

  • @jimmythecool911 £5 would get you 10 eggs

  • *lach* ist dein Axolotl etwa TKKG-Fan?

  • LOL, ich hab noch nicht nachgefragt, aber es scheint so!

  • would you know if axolotls evolve into salamanders

  • they are a sort of mexican salamander

  • haha!

What a healthy looking happy Axolotl!!

  • Sooooo süß! ;-)

  • Can I feed them my evil black molly? I hate that fish because he nips my fancy guppies.

  • Thank you for the good summary description. A crucial condition is the temperature limit. This should be attended thoroughly. These precious little creatures remind me of the remnants of primeval times. They are so CUTE.

  • Ohhh that's such a sweet animal!! He/she looks so happy =)

  • Such a beautiful creature!

  • is there a name for this song?

  • This song is the theme of a German children´s audio play series. The series is called "TKKG".

  • Comment removed

  • you sad in the discription: buy a tank of at least 160 ltrs for max. 4 animals

but my biologie teacher said that my aquarium(inclusive filter) of 54 ltr can hold 4 axolotls!!

  • This funny animal is from Mèxico.

    Welcome every body.

  • Hey Punki80,

What sort of water do you use,and what do you do to make the water safe for the Axolotls?

You said do not use water treatment chemicals,Does that mean no ph treatments or stuff to take the toxins/metals out?

Yours looked a very healthy creature, good gill development.

Sorry for the questions,Im getting a pair this week and want to hear how others look after the little critters. :)

    Cheers!

  • Hi,

we´ve got excellent tap water, so I don´t use anything to make it safer because it is safe already.

It depends on the water quality, in some cases it is better to use chemical than the pure tap water. You should check your local water quality. I´m sorry I can´t really help you! Enjoy your new pair :-)!

    Cheers!

  • your axolotl is verry happy and healthy, Well Done!

and yeah, can you keep axolotl with fish ?

  • yeah my 3 axo's like fish :D

i brought 16 fishes (small ones) and after 2 weeks i only got 3 fishes left ^^

they like to catch one, if they are hungry xD

  • hey there yes you can keep them with fish I have a large pond and have 3 axolotl and many goldfish housed together, after a few days of being togegther they learn to keep out of each others way.

  • Yes, you can be lucky and nothing happens, but I´ve heard about nasty accidents with fish nibbling the axolotl´s gills or skin which left nasty wounds and infections. Axolotl skin is very, very thin and delicate. I wouldn´t take the risk for my own ones.

  • hi i just bought a non albino axo and he is swimming around happy as a clown. the man i bought the little guy from spoke very little English. all he said was he was giving them away and whatever ones he had left he said he would get rid of :( i got the axo to save it from being thrown away like garbage. what should i feed him. hes very slowly(and when im not looking) eating small guppies please tell me what i can feed him. thank you

  • Oh, that depends on its size. If it´s grown up or nearly grown up already you could feed it earthworms (or pieces of earthworms) which are an excellent food for them, and if its eating guppies this is fine, too.

  • Where did you get your Axolotl from?

  • They were given to me by friends, I didn´t buy them.

  • what other animals should i put in the tank with the axtotl?

  • I wouldn´t recommend to put anything in the tank with the axolotls because either axolotls or the fish or both of them can injure each other heavily. But if you don´t mind that, you can put guppies in the tank. Some will be eaten perhaps, but they won´t harm the axolotls at least. Other fish sometimes nibble the axolotls´gills or abrade their skin etc.

  • thanks but your description says to put in 3-4 other animals will it get lonely if it's by itself? and isn't the axolotl smart enough to move before the other fish eat it?

  • Oh, I meant, 3-4 axolotls in a tank together. I don´t know if it would feel lonely by itself, but they sometimes seem to enjoy being together. That sounds silly and I can´t tell you if this impression is wrong, but it seems to be like this. And if you had more than one and both males and females, you could watch the mating. They sometimes really behave funny then and it´s quite cute. The males shift the females around on the tip of their snouts and they can become quite quick during that.

  • A short impression of this is in my video "Axolotls".

And no, I have to tell you, the axolotls often are strangely not smart enough to move away when a fish starts nibbling. You can find the nastiest injuries caused by fish. Sadly also by other axolotls because they sometimes mistake an other axolotl´s foot or gill for food, but fortunately this has never occurred among mine. The foot will grow new, but in some cases they will need an amputation before. This has to be judged by a vet.

  • cute ^_^!!

  • damn! whats that plant at de background?? Equisetum may be?

  • It´s "lucky bamboo".

  • How much do these little guys cost? Can I buy one at any pet store?

  • Yeah, I really want one.

  • wow, they come in pink!

  • look so happy!

  • Lol that little thing is cute XD

Can you actually tell when they're happy and stuff?

  • This one was sure quite happy, he was looking for a female to mate :-). Then they often dance around like that. His name is Grisu like the little dragon.

  • Aww :D That's cute.

  • wonderfuuuuuuuuuuuuullllllllllllllll
