  • The only thing I did not like Zelda NES, is that after killing Ganon, the game starts again from the beginning. Greetings from Mexico.

  • I love how the floor looks like a skull when you fight Ganon. It's amazing what you notice at 11 at night :D

  • this game was my shit! 1st rpg I ever played when i was a kid in grade school. When adventure of link dropped it was hard to get your hands on a copy. All the zelda series are epic but 1 and 2 will always be my all time favs.

  • Which version was it nes standard or nes gold

  • all i can say is

    im glad there wasnt

but your princess is in another castle

i would have broken that game in pure rage lol

  • @wildefice1 there was a final princess to mario though. i didnt know that til many years later

  • @metal220 lol i never got to that point

    heres the story

i was like ten years old and i wanted to finally beat mario bros the legit way all the way through no warp zones.

after about 4-5 hours of killing my thumbs i finally get to the final bowser fight

mario was like 1 pixiel from hitting the axe and wining the game ... and it freezes ... not only that it erased my entire file >:( i havent played it since even though it is a good memory

  • @wildefice1 i never got that far i gave up.

  • @metal220 lol

  • I HATE WIZZROBES! They're all like "Hehe, my back's facing yo--no it's not! SPELLSPELLSPELL!" Then I go behind the block and stab and they're like "Oh that was smar--OH LOOK I TELEPORT IN YOUR FACE!"

Then I finally get the Red Ring and they're like "Hurry, let's teleport the length of the ENITRE FREAKING ROOM and try to hit him ON ALL FOUR SIDES!" Magic Shield ain't shit then. Freakin' Like Likes EVERYWHERE!

With the Red Ring I still felt like a god, but those mofos were obnoxious as hell!

  • There are people that "This game sucks, lame graphics" HAHAHAHAHaA You, DON'T KNOW what is a GOOD and EPIC game.

  • from games like this to people saying

"you don't play cod? ive never met a teenager who doesn't play videogames"

    i miss old school games

  • if thats the final boss then im not even gonna waste my time finishing he game

  • Zelda, for all you young ones out there is 50% responsible for the video game boom. The other 50% is Donkey Kong, which birthed Super Mario. Don't slam truly old school games. They are the reason you beg your parents to buy you the newest COD. Nuff said.

  • Endings don't get more beautiful than this. I cried.

  • @Johnnymushio wow its an awesome game but u don't have to cry that's embarrassing no effence

  • @dmytrocool Obviously I was being sarcastic.

  • i got zelda four swords for gamecube and zelda the minish cap for gameboy ah those were the days where most game systems had game in the name

  • When I was 6 and playing this game back when it came out, I was so scared of Ganon I made my mom do the fight while I hid behind the door in terror. Then I spent like 10 minutes re-creating the ending screen in crayon to remember forever...

yeah I kinda feel like a dork now.

  • Geez... The ganon in Zelda 1 looks like a joke now compared to the later incarnations (e.g. Ocarina of Time, and Twilight Princess).

  • How did you replace the music with a MIDI version?

  • "thanks link your the hero of hyrule so now lets go home and fuck like theres no tomorrow!!"

  • I got to ganon when i was like 9 n remember running around for like 10 minutes trying to hit him.. then my game didn't save after he killed my ass.. I still, to this day, have not beat this game.. i only recently found out u have to beat it twice too.

  • AND THEN THEY FUCKED.

  • The Level 9 music sounds almost the same, but slightly different

  • How appropraite for a final boss stage. A floor shaped like a skull.

  • -.- This is how the game ends...

    =P

  • You are good at this game me and my two brothers beat it in a few weeks and when it first came out my dad stayed up 4 days playing it no sleep for 4 days can you believe that

  • Is it me, or does Ganon's roar sound like Godzilla?

  • THE TTRIFORCE is a lie!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • in all of the zelda series, this is probably the easiest final boss. yes, inlcuding wind waker and twilight princess, and every other zelda, this was fastest and most simple ganon. it may be the first zelda, but the final boss was the easiest. and you call that lots of damage? one hit=half a heart with the blue ring? jesus, a room with wizrobes was WAY harder than this guy!

  • @REeTauRdEdprODuCtIoN Well, that was from a hit from one of his energy balls, not touching Ganon, But, yes I think I beat him on the first try.

  • Why u don't have Red Ring?

  • @kornik505 I never did find the red ring in the game. Now I know why, actually, it's because it isn't technically on the map, it's in the right uppermost room in level 9 which is a black square- not part of the skull the level 9 map shows you.

  • This was all I learned in the 4th grade.

  • Thank you but the real princess is in another castle... imagine that...

  • wow is to easy the battle no like zelda Ocarina of time

  • The ending is just crap! lol

  • @phily4life its NES, so what if you don't get some retarded epilouge with a billion bit graphics? this is classic, beating the game is supposed to make you feel good, not some dumb 10 minute cutscene! btw, you should see some other NES endings, you think this one sucks? you have no idea how many mistranlated endings there are out there!

  • @REeTauRdEdprODuCtIoN the ending of Metroid was good though! :)

  • @megacool341 no, after u beat him, a pot of gold appears on top of ur tv. >.>

  • @kabuto335 LMAO!!! Don't you hate when these kids who never played the game make comments? Zelda and Mario ran the industry back when it was at it's peak. This is a lot harder than it looks! And it was awesome!

  • Wow, I didn't know you got rewarded with seizures for beating games back then.

  • Cool ! ..you did it without the red ring !

But im still looking for a video of a Ganon-fight/Zelda in green (so no ring green standard outfit). I killed Ganon with blue-ring/white-sword and also no-ring/magical-sword ...so i've seen her in green, and she looked hot.

I once was trying to kill him without any ring and a wooden sword, but i got kinda stuck in level 6

  • I can understand people complaining about the bosses in this game, but you weren't there when this game first came out. Most people got to Ganon without getting the blue arrows, and we had no idea how to kill him. You have no idea when going back through the dungeon, finding the blue arrows, and using it here and winning how satisfying it was to figure it out. It was a totally different era in gaming where everything wasn't spoon food to you. You actually had to figure it out yourself.

  • @AGentertainment Amen to that!

  • with the exeption of oot, the 2D zelda games must have been some of the best ever made!

  • I enjoyed that you could redo the game after you finished.Everything was moved about. The dungeons were no longer in the same places.

  • lol this is noting compared to ganondorf i wind waker. I had to use fucking 2 faires!

  • When Ganon died, Link got both, as shown in the ending by each holding one. What the good guys did with them, I do not know.

In Zelda 2, they added another Tri-Force, the Tri-Force of Courage, they changed the story a bit so that the "Tri-Force" was the 3 triangles put together.

And that's what the rest of the games followed.

  • Ok, the story for those that are confused.

Back when this game was released, there was no Tri-force of Courage. A Tri-force in the original game was essentially a "Triangle of power", and there was 2 of them, Wisdom and Power, one who got both would have near god-like power.

Ganon had one of them and wanted the other so he could rule the world. Zelda split up the Triforce of Wisdom to prevent Ganon from getting it when he captured her.

  • Wow that's all ? Only a silver arrow to KILL GANON ?

  • Apparently, he's a were-pig. Lol.

  • what if link already posseses the triforce of courage on the beginning of the game?

  • He can't- the story of Zelda 2 establishes that the Triforce of Courage has been locked away in the Great Palace for ages prior to the events of the game. The whole goal of Zelda 2 is to retrieve that Triforce so you'll have all three to wake up Zelda (in the end- you even see all 3 Triforces), so it can't exist in Link in Zelda 1. Though Link does show "the mark of the hero" (Triforce logo) on his hand when he turns 16, this doesn't seem to have the same meaning as it does in later Zelda games.

  • Actually there is three o.o you collect the pieces for Links Triforce(Courage) during the first 8 dungeons, then when you kill Ganon he drops his(Power), and Zelda has her own.(Wisdom)

As for why they hold up two? Zelda holds up her Triforce and Link hold up his Triforce, They should have added a nice scene where they all join together and then you know Hyrule is at peace for real.

  • The game and manual make it quite clear that you are collecting the pieces of the Triforce of WISDOM that Zelda hid to prevent Ganon from claiming it, as Ganon already had the Triforce of Power. At the end, you and Zelda are holding up the Triforce of Wisdom that you collected and the Triforce of Power that you picked up from Ganon's ashes. The concept of a third Triforce was not introduced until Zelda 2.

  • Little too easy compared to some of the other versions. Still it's something people were looking forward too I bet.

  • you try it ive played all the zelda games this is harder than majora and ganondorf

  • Hmmmm. We'll see. Problem is I don't have all the systems. That's what's great about Zelda. You get so many systems you get to play at least one.

  • I didn't know that you could destroy the fire so I walked through it, and I get the weird colored blue Link for the ending. I always like this game because I was a mean older brother and it scared my brother quite a bit.

  • This is an epic ending. Tears streamed down my cheek when I was swept into the

jaw dropping and emotionally impacting ending. They must have worked for months on the ending alone.

  • thats totaly sarcasm

  • LMAOOOO

  • fucking shit

I got to the last level and it's hard as fuck

  • i don't care, as long as i kick his ass hard!

  • final bosses are the easiest, this dude was easy, dark link was easy, gnasty gnorc from std was easy, and even mother brain from sm was easy, and you know what else, the doomsday zone was easy too. Final bosses, EASY!

  • try fighting majora in zelda majoras mask

  • HELLO, ganon is a evil boss, you need something to kill a pig who wants to steal the triforce and become ruler of hyrule, and later slave all of humanity, dude...think...about it.

  • seriously

why do you need the silverarrows just for that part?

  • for which reason you need the silverarrow anyway?

  • the only way to kill ganon is with the silver arrow just like the only way to will the spider like creature is with the arrow.

  • I know

I just wanted to know why on earth were they make just for this single part? why aren't there more parts in the game where you need them?

    that was my question

  • As a reward, a seizure. c:

  • finding the tools to beat ganon was the hard part, if you entered the room without the silver arrow you were screwed lol

  • I was 8 when i played this. At the time it was the greatest game ever!!

  • omfg!?!!?!??!? 1 hit and ganon dead!?!?!?!?

  • Lmao

  • thats it! i thought there would be a cooler ending then "thanks link you're the hero of hyrule". wtf

  • ok.. well... i wish i could get to lvl 9.. but i cant find lvl 4.. wheres it at?? ive got all items and i cant find lvl 4.. does ANY 1 know where it is??

  • take da raft from dungeon 3 and walk out on to the water infont of a green platform.

  • man this game is an oldie man i loved this game for me i was like hella hella young when it came out but i still played it you cant say this is not an original because this game is what started them all out....kudos but i still like the 2000's zelda games :P more grafics

  • he looks like a bunny!

  • Very easy....this Ganon.

  • Are you using a hyper-cam because your camera graphics are excelent.

  • I'm using camstudio. It's great and free.

  • Thanks Link, you're the hero of Hyrule.

    Finally, peace returns to Hyrule.

    This ends the story.

    Lamest. Ending. EVR.

  • agree

  • This is the original ganon...I beat this game when they didn't have magazines and shit back in 89. It took me about 3 months. I think the new ganondorf came like in 96 or something...I could be wrong cause I didn't play the gameboy

    editions.

  • ugh the old ganon looks like a giant PIG. And i mean wtf 1 hit then BOOM ganon explodes. Nintendo was really this lame back then? Hard to believe.

  • LOL, well it will look lame now compare to Twilight princess. But than it was revolutionary. Zelda Zelda Zelda

  • Revolutionary game, one of the first where you could have a save file.

  • i worship the guy who changed ganon from a pig to a epic orc/elf/some creepy dude that stares at you when you walk down the street type guy.

  • you're thinking ganondorf, know your roots, fool.

  • 1.) Like you said, it's an old game. Were you expectign a spectatcular 3 part battle?

    2.) What MainCharecter said

  • As an eight year old, this game took months to beat.

  • @PoptabLove With the internet, this game took a few hours to beat.

  • @slashman41 A few hours? Your joking right? This is one of the hardest games i've ever played. Must have been ALOT of internet involvement

  • i've tried to play this game on the collector's edition for gamecube. it's hard as hell allready when I started.. I just can't control link when he can't move diagonally, and he can only stab his sword not swing.. it's so hard..

  • yeah right i got this game on an emulater because i beat it for the nintendo and my name was zelda so it was super hard and its even harder on the game boy and as an emulater

  • U noobs have no idea how classic this is cause you have never played the game so u look up videos thinking u have played the game. Just all of u stfu >_>

  • @Littlelink91 hahahahahahahahahahahaha thats so true!!!! ive never played the game but i act like i do all the time!! haha, you sir, understand me!

    and this isnt sarcasm!

  • @Littlelink91 well looks like you played it a lot and look at your life now

  • Worst Ganon-Fight ever!

  • To bad with our this there would be no Zelda so you have to like some how.

  • Oh haha, I've got the orignal Zelda on Gamecube but I;ve only got 4/8 of the things (I think its 8 =p)

  • most to say ganon looks like a blue pig O.o

  • Ganon looks EEEEZY

  • He's not that easy really, if you touch him he does lots of damage.

  • That was really good, you barely lost any health, It took me like four tries to beat him. Was that bought off the virtual console on the Wii?

  • Nope, I'm too lazy to buy a video camera. I played this on Zelda Classic.

  • @gray0xZC If you realy wanted to you could buy a Dazzle for around $80. They pretty much record what you see on your tv to your computer.
