I think Alice was ONCE (before meeting Bill) one of the "Sommerton Whores".
What´s more I can bet the farm she and that creep Szandor were "goin´ steady" once.
The Christmas party scene is really about Kidman and other women being mind controlled. Star symbols and the shots in the background all "illuminated" , hello ? Could The Koob have been any more blatant?
Nuala is definately NOT at the Masked Ball, nor the other girl, nor Mandy... tha'ts like... trying to find the contents of the brieaffcase in Pulp Fiction, it will be forever a Mistery... Maybe... it was just a girl, who was kinda smart and saw that the Tom Cruise Character was alone, and staring at her while they walked through the hall.
Nuala Windsor (...rainbow ends)....you see her at the masked ball too, she tries to lead Tom (Bill) away on Ziegler's behalf, when he wonders about the ritual party...but Mandy intervenes.
Its the same people at both parties...except Tom (Bil) wasn't invited to the 2nd party...'cos he is just the help, not a inner member.
and did anyone spot Nicole Kidman (Alice) in the circle of female sex slaves...
they were always at least 3 steps ahead of Dr Harford?
Yes...its her alright (Nuala)...try looking with eyes wide open.
Alice is there too...but if can't or won't see Nuala, then you'll definitely not be able to see Alice.
In fact...When Nuala speaks in both scenes...you'll will hear that it is the same person...not that I need to hear, as I can see its the same person from body type and language.
@roachy333 It's not the same voice and it is not the same hair colour (for Nuala), so I don't think it is her. I can that one of the slaves can possibly be Alice, as they have the same hair style etc., but this is all speculation.
Good trailer! EWS has a lot in common with Kubrick's Barry Lyndon. In each, the largely blank and reactive male central character is sent out on a journey far from his home through an expressionistic visual and aural landscape in which he experiences a devastating loss of identity and disconnection from his own reality as the result of his beloved's thorough sexual and romantic rejection of him.
That's a neat touch, roachy. Barry's face is often perfectly blank, especially once he learns to contend with the world, as when listening to Sir. Reginald Barry's furious rant just before he drops dead: Barry's own powdered and rouged face is a mask, revealing nothing. (As opposed to Barry's later expression of pure emotion when he wallops Bullingdon, leading to his downfall.) How neat, then, for Bill's literal mask to be a replica of Barry's figurative one! Where'd you get this tidbit?
Yes, I adore it too. Among the injustices "Barry L" has suffered is the fact that it is now the only major Kubrick film not available on BluRay, but only on standard definition DVD in a 3x4 transfer! It would be magnificent in HiDef! Warners Home Video should be ashamed of this oversight! (But I'm sure they're not, of course.) Maybe some day Criterion will take it on themselves...
It was my job to prepare film elements for video mastering to all formats incl HD for a major studio (not WB) for 15 yrs. ALL movies need re-mastering to Hi Def to be released on BluRay, as WB did with their other Kubrick films at least 2 yrs ago; there's nothing at all unusual about "BL" in that regard. As for the photography, all the challenges were already solved by committing those images to 35mm film. The movie was mastered for regular DVD; it can be mastered to HiDef. WB is making excuses.
Bill Hartford, who is deeply disturbed when his wife explains a situation where she was almost unfaithful, leaves for a house call, and has a moment himself, and he decides to wander the city, determined to see the world for what it is.
Some very strange things happen, and eventually Bill becomes the center of a murder mystery, though the mystery and possibly the murder never happened.
It's brilliant and really unlike anything else. It's rated R for full frontal nudity, which is everywhere.
actually it has nothing to do with the occult or mind control. kubrick is merely mocking the disgustingly thick self-importance and snobbery of the "elite" class while simulataneously telling a story about the fundamental male-female relationship.
dont paint it a conspiracy theory because it isnt and that takes away from what kubrick is really trying to say.
The Shining is extrememly similar to EWS. The difference is the Shining takes the domestic relationship angle of the male-female relationship and EWS takes the bedroom angle of the male-female relationship. Both are brilliant.
A Clockwork Orange is an open social/political discussion of the far right vs. the far left. A fascinating pre-cyberpunk skew on human society.
Ok. I've heard all of posible theories of Bush on Bills shirt when he enters at the Rothschild's palace. And the gold masked servant take's off Bill's Jacket. And the All Seeing eye of Horus when he get's back home and walk throug the hall. But where are the occult symbols?
basically, alice tells her hubby bill that she almost cheated on him a few months back so he goes out not exactly sure what he's looking for and gets way in over his head. its strange but absolutely brilliant. ud want to give it ur full attention tho
It's not scary at all. It's an in-depth view of the sexual lives and deviances of a married couple. The film is very heavy and certainly not a standard commercial picture, but it isn't "weird/scary."
Stanley Kubrick called his final film Eyes Wide Shut because he knew people would watchit the same way they watched all of his films, without actually seeing the film.
He exposed the elite with the film. What most people don't realise is that although the guests wear robes and masks, their identities are revealed in paintings on the walls.
Also there are many underaged children in the orgy scene. Did you spot them? No? You had your Eyes Wide Shut.
Vinissa Shaw as the street prostitute with Tom Cruise. Stewart Thorndike one of the two 'end of the rainbow' girls with Cruise. Very good casting in this Stanley Kubrick movie that shocked many. Some scenes could have been better filmed, perhaps something to do with Kubrick dying before the film was completed?
Well done that man...I think she is actually at the party in question...have a look and see if you can spot her. Kubrick early on in the film shows Alice naked and it creates a reference point to find her at the party.
She even gets 'disassociated' at Ziegler's party when she chats to the soave Hungarian...you can't miss it.
The ritual party and Zeigler's party are mirrors of each other...even in the timing.
Who do you think Alice was at the party? I've tried looking for her but am never quite sure who she is. Also what do you mean by she gets 'disassociated' at Ziegler's party?
Just watch the scene again...The Hungarian has her hypnotised...literally and I don't think its just the alcohol!!!
Disassociated (mentally) as in...shows possible symptoms of trauma based mind control...typically (though not exclusively) through sexual abuse. Its not much, but it certainly hardens the case.
If you're not sure who she is (I think she is there, but its not certain)...Kubrick left a blatant reference in the first few minutes of the film...Alice standing naked.
I think Alice was ONCE (before meeting Bill) one of the "Sommerton Whores". What´s more I can bet the farm she and that creep Szandor were goin´ steady once.

Oh the scene where Bill is propositioned by Nuala and Gale (gale & wind-soar) Nuala and Bill's ears were incredibly fetishized (to me) as very elf meets dryad/nymph...Awesome.
Of course some scenes are going to feel forced. Its intentional. Kubrick´s Eyes Wide Shut is an expose of the "Elites" and the power of MK-Ultra Mind Control. The party scene, for example, is really about Kidman and other women being mind controlled. Star symbols and the shots in the background surrounding Kidman's head are all mind control iconography. A missunderstood film. Brilliant. Kubrick was murdered for this film. WOOOORD!

Yes BL is my most anticipated Blu Ray release...apparently the task of making this into HighDef is an enormous one...that is what I've heard.
Warners quote...
"!The only reason BARRY LYNDON hasnt yet made it to Warner Home Video dvd
& Blu-ray is that the elements need re-mastering for the format; because
of the way the film was shot, w/its ultra-sensitive lenses & low light
levels, the film poses a real challenge to master for hi-def. "
