So I want to play Skyrim with the 2k texture pack, which is EXTREMELY high resolution and computer demanding, so I don't know if I should go with a 2gb or 1gb GTX 560
@ShakrallStudios 2gb to hold all the textures, skyrim coded isn't too well either :/ it would be sensible to download a unofficial performance boosting pack.
ok i know gtx 580 is what i want but realisticly is it better to go with 2 gtx 560 for the bang for my buck factor btw im building an X79 platform with the i7 3820 32gb of corsair domniator (blue heat sink) 1333mhz and 2 120gb intel elm crest ssd raid 0 help me out here im stuck please
@Ikoniikk Both cards will be very good, the 560's will out perform the 580 however different programs and games will respond differently to the SLI configuration.
gtx 550 is basically an ole gtx 260!! look at specs yo, nvidia does this crap reuse old making it seem new... 8800gt-9800gt-250gs ect same stuff diff name lil different nm and clock speeds
2. GTX 560 Ti 2Gb<----------------------@2560x1600 This card will perform better at higher resolutions because theres more memory to load up all those textures. Also FYI 2Gb cards are better for multi-monitor gaming & HDTV's.
@Flykid04 You did obviously not get the point. Most people say that 1 GB is ENOUGH for 1920x1080, however the same card with a 2 GB framebuffer increased the maximum framerate to double the amount of the fps of the 1 GB card. It just proves that battlefield 3 takes up a lot of memory.
In short, don't compare GPU clock speeds, and you only need >1GB of memory on a video card for either a single 2560x1600 monitor or multiple monitors at any resolution.
Can you please please please make a video about gpu rendering and which card is the best for let's say After Effects rendering and maybe different price ranges. Thank you ;)
i had some gimp reply to me in youtube comments saying computer hardware reviewers are bias. i always laugh when i hear that. already tells me that person knows NOTHING about computer hardware. he tried to tell me a 2500K wouldn't CRUSH his AMD 8120, because reviews were bias. i gave him some news articles to read and i haven't heard back. LMAO. noobs slay me. you're only noob if you're happy being one.
I have a question if someone can tell me... Im stuck in choosing between a gtx 560 ti superclocked 1gb or a gtx 560 superclocked 2gb.. btw the gtx 560 is about 40 bucks more expensive than the 1gb ti.
i wanted to know that due to increase in stream processors and bus width increase the performence of the gpu
for example : gtx 590 have 1024 streame processors and 768-bit it is the best for nvidia hd 6970 having 1536 stream processors and 256-bit it is the one of the best in ati replay me......
@akhilfastgamer im not linus but i would say the 590 would be better for the 768-bit, the stream processors difference wouldnt really affect it but the main thing is that the 590 is Dual GPU so a lot more power, unless of course you want to compare it with the 6990 which is AMD's dual GPU card :)
alot of my friends think that graphics memory is important. personally i found out that that was complete bullshit when i upgraded from a gt 440 to a gtx 560. Both 1gb and dx 11 cards. But a hell lot of difference in performance.go google gpureview and you can check and compare the specs of graphic cards on the site
@Decalto35 If you really aren't seeing the difference then stick it back on stock. At the very least it'll run a little cooler and in theory last you longer.
i have a gtx 560 and i oc the core clock to 950mhz. It's stock is 850. and i oc the memory to 4540 mhz. The stock memory is 4200mhz. I dont really seem to get alot of performance increase. Should i just stick to clock speeds? If u need to know, i am using a 1090t at 3.6ghz and 8gb ddr3 1600mhz ram.
@Decalto35 sometimes overclocked (ram specifically) can decrease performance, and especially for ram i would recommend stock speed so it has stability, last longer and also performs at its designed rate, as that much more ram makes hardly any difference :)
@Decalto35 graphic card has ddr3 and gddr5 vram... im sure that what he mean ...gddr5 process faster = faster graphic card compare to normal dd3 memory graphic card ...
there is a good site were you can compare cpu's video card's and other things and it shows fps in certain games its called anandtech. check it out its pretty cool
I would like to buy a video card that can run with no problems RAGE, BF3, Alliance of Vilant Arms and the next 5 years of hi end games. Can anyone recommend one ?
your reviews and stuff made me buy a gtx 560 ti twin frozr ii! cant be more satisfied when im playing eg. metro 2033 on 2048x1152 at max, vs my old hd 4850 that could barely play it at medium.
@Nyllet1221 You're playing metro 2033 at max at that resolution? max as in DX11 too? As in bullshit? My gtx 560 ti barely plays metro 2033 dx11 on low. (also talking playable fps here, sure you can run it at 5 -10 fps but that's not really good)
@NCIXcom Did you ever try the Pandaboard-ES? It really is worth a try, its the last 32 bit processor made for computing by TI. Instead of x86 it uses ARM. So since its less commands in the assembly, less pipelining, means faster, more-cores, and very little energy. We will just wait for Windows8 and we should be fine. So try it out, its really worth it, if you are willing to wait for Windows 8. We have to wait for Windows8 for SATA and DDR3/4 support, so it will just take time.
would this be a good pc build? Coolermaster HAF X 942, Intel core i7 2700k, XFX ATI RADEON 6970 2GB, Asus P8Z68-V-GEN3 Intel Mainboard - LGA 1155, Corsair vengeance 1gb, XFX 850W XXX Edition Semi-Modular PSU 80+ Silver, LG Blu-Ray Reader & DVD/CD Burner (CH12LS28), Noctua NH-D14 All-In-One Extreme Performance CPU Cooler, Seagate Barracuda Green 2TB, OCZ Agility 3 Series 120GB 2.5" SSD Sata 6Gbs,
So clock speed isn't important? because my "Windows Performance" went down 0.5 points when I returned my glitched up GALAXY - NVidia GeForce GT 520 and the only difference appears to be clock speed. I got an XFX AMD HD 6470 or something, the box doesn't quite say what it is (bought from BestBuy) but it has the 1GB VRAM
@Sekair they are not the same model, so they dont have the same processor architecture. Therefore, you can't compare performance based on the clock speed. See manufacturers dont tell you the processor design, but they are not the same inside, so to speak.
I ordered a HD 5750 with 512MB GDDR5 RAM today. Was that a mistake? Should I have gone for the 1GB version? I play at 1920x1080 max. I dont need 8xAA. 2xAA would be fine with me.
Anyone got experience with this card? Whats the games that will definately need more than 1GB of Ram for the graphics card?
@TheNonConformative I would say so. But i'm also waiting till Nvidia comes out with there dual GPU Flagship Kepler cards and i'm getting 2 of them and another Kepler card for Physx. Saving up money now for a beast ass computer!
@TheNonConformative actually, I happen to have the 1GB HD 5770 (close enough to your card) It is quite a great graphics card considering the price to performance ratio, definitely not a mistake, you should be quite happy with the performance of this card for directx 9 & 10 games, directx 11, well, it runs it, but not like a speed demon. Anyways, the 512MB version isn't bad, and for most games 512MB of video memory is good. The only game I can think of that it would matter more would be GTA IV.
@TheNonConformative Also, yes, you are correct about your assumption for the Anti Aliasing, for me, games run smoothly with 2xAA, but 8x and it lags. But really for the price, if you can put up with only 2 samples of Anti Aliasing, you can play just about any modern game with decent settings at a good frame rate. Sorry for the long reply, just sharing my knowledge.
@jackiecrane57 I am very thankful for your knowledge =D I ordered an XFX 5750 512MBGDDR5 a few days ago for 50 Euros. The card is from a media PC system where it hardly ever met any games, that will change as soon as its in my PC ;D
@TheNonConformative That's all you paid? That was a great deal, they usually go for around 110 bucks, or 80 euros in your case. Anyways, glad I could be informative and helpful for you :)
@jackiecrane57 Got her today =) And she´s fantastic. Really, if you ever look for a budget gaming card (or low-energy media card), then go for this one. I am absolutely amazed about the perfomance. Played Dead space 2, Modern Warfare 3 maxed out... all in 1080p. Only in very few instances the 512MB were too low and the game needed few secs to load the new data into the V-RAM. Its amazing. I am absolutely happy about my "best buy of the year". Cheers mate!
so what about two gtx 590's in sli on 3 2560X1600 displays? I heard that even with those in sli you only get 1.5GB of Ram. Help me out someone bc i'm planning on biulding the highest end computer money can buy at this point but i'm also really thinking about waiting for the new highest end kepler cards from Nvidia bc i will NOT buy AMD bc Nvidia has a lot more extra's such as Physx.
@hammbone852 "a lot" more extras? physx is the only extra to be honest. AMD can do up to six displays from a single card whereas nvidia needs two cards to do only 3 monitors.
brand loyalty will get you nowhere in the technology industry.
@ruhtraeel I agree, but more textures at higher resolutions affect the performance a bunch as well. For instance, GTA IV has (of course) options for low, mid, and high textures and when you go higher more memory is shown being occupied. If your card is good enough, then higher resolutions wont make much of a difference in performance (just better visual quality).
So I want to play Skyrim with the 2k texture pack, which is EXTREMELY high resolution and computer demanding, so I don't know if I should go with a 2gb or 1gb GTX 560

At overclockers.co.uk there was a post that a gtx 560 ti 2 gb doubled the max framerate in bf3 (1920x1080 at Ultra settings)
henols22 5 days ago
@henols22 the more memory the card has the faster it can load more textures, for instance if u take 2 same video cards:
1. GTX 560 Ti 1Gb @2560x1600

TheNonConformative 1 month ago
@TheNonConformative shouldve gotten 1 gig version
skaterdude1998 1 month ago
@TheNonConformative I would say so. But i'm also waiting till Nvidia comes out with there dual GPU Flagship Kepler cards and i'm getting 2 of them and another Kepler card for Physx. Saving up money now for a beast ass computer!
hammbone852 1 month ago

TheNonConformative 1 month ago

Help me out someone bc i'm planning on biulding the highest end computer money can buy at this point but i'm also really thinking about waiting for the new highest end kepler cards from Nvidia bc i will NOT buy AMD bc Nvidia has a lot more extra's such as Physx.
hammbone852 1 month ago
@hammbone852 "a lot" more extras? physx is the only extra to be honest. AMD can do up to six displays from a single card whereas nvidia needs two cards to do only 3 monitors.
brand loyalty will get you nowhere in the technology industry.

@Valkyze yea but it can't do it fluently without another card.

it doesn't matter the monitor size, what matters is the resolution

IMO more RAM is useless for a gaming card unless you have like 3 full HD monitors.
The only time more RAM would be useful on a single monitor would be for workstation and modelling uses, where a gaming card would be crap anyways.
ruhtraeel 1 month ago
@ruhtraeel I agree, but more textures at higher resolutions affect the performance a bunch as well. For instance, GTA IV has (of course) options for low, mid, and high textures and when you go higher more memory is shown being occupied. If your card is good enough, then higher resolutions wont make much of a difference in performance (just better visual quality).
