Just enjoy the Hausa-fulani music and stop making unnecessary noises. My people tell me I am fulani but I only can talk Hausa. So what does it matter to me who is fulani and who is Hausa? stop making distinctions.
Hausa people are Nubia, origin before 1000 years in northern Sudan, they have a great civilaization there in the past on the river Nile. same face features, building arch. melody, creativity.
Biba I agree with some of ur comments, but know that even prior to the Jihad of Usman Dafodio, HAusas were Muslims. so what Danfodio did was reformation. infact he fought mainly the Hausa rulers who were oppressors to their subjects (both Hausas & Fulani). they practiced an unislamic cultures such as oppression, intoxications, marrying hundreds of wives etc.
Ardo, you shouldn't call anyone stupid.he was right in Nigeria the hausa fulani association and similarities is so obvious.historically they have been together for centuries.and mbgamji.you did good by keeping your anger and responding politely.
You are very stupid man; It is very easy to differentiate between hausa and hausa culture; Being a malian fulani, i can tell u that i can' see nothing liked to fulani culture is this videoclip ! if Nigerian fulani has lost their culture, it s their problem, we, other fulani, are proud of our language and culture, and we don't know the Hausa, they do not exist in our area,so how could we have the same culture??!!! the Hausa -fulani does not exist.they have bothing in common except islam
Hi, ARDO, what is so stupid here, commenting on a clip or saying there is no difference between the two culture? if really it offends you keep cool, but remember hat HAUSAs are Hausas no matter how you perceived them, and my comment means the unity exists between th two.
Well it is your shame that the Fulani in Nigeria are the greatest Fulani with the greatest achievements! Without the Nigerian Fulani and their achievements alongside the Hausa, the Puels or FULBE or whatever u call urselves(dont u dare call urselves Fulani because that is exclusive to Nigerian Fulani whose language is different from yours) would be just another nomadic group of people with nothing to show for their existance. Who will give u a 2nd look if not for our greatness?????
@ssodangi hi, i believe ur response was unecessary. i didn't intend to cause an argument. this is meant for open discussion so you can make your points in a more positive manner.
Hi, It is just that I find it discomforting when other west african Fulani condemn their kith and kin who have elected to team up with Hausa and be called Hausa/Fulani. I dont see anything bad in that because afterall it has bettered our lives significantly.
Sorry for my harsh tone, it was a spillover of my reply to ardolobbo who sound very bitter at this great UNION...Cheers!
hausa and fulani are two different ppl, it just that when fulani ppl converted hausas to islam, the mixed a lot, so a lot of fula speak hausa and vice versa, the culture may be similar, but two different ppl.
quiet ok the socio-economic factor bring them together and that make both to became what nowadays call hausa-fulani. remeber that inter-marriage might lead to the demise of one culture.
yess yess i know, in nigeria hausa-fulani are very mixed bcuz of inter marriage, but don't talk for all hausa fulani, bcuz guinean fulani arent that hausa, and plus there are fulani all over africa, so you cant rly speak for everyone.
Of course Habiba what i understand is that another genre of people emerged out of the two (hausa and fulani) which is the hausa-fulani type, and sincerely speaking am not generalizing the issue, it is clear that Fulani are Fulanis and Hausa are hausas, and those emerged between the two are the hausa-fulani.
Who told you that fulani converted Hausa people into Islam?.
Closely linked with the Kanuri people of Kanem-Bornu (Lake Chad), the Hausa aristocracy adopted Islam in the 11th century CE.
Islam came from East ,Hausa came from North East to central West, and Fulani came from west (Senegambia). So where did you get your information about my Hausa people?,please tell me.
