This game was so freaking rad back in the day. Me and my buddies would hang out and just play it for hours. I started at Beta 2.1when the game had bleeding and bandies. DOD: Source looked great and all but they never matched the awesome super accurate weapons. The old Kar98 and the Enfield bolt actions were amazing at range. Even the Thompson or the STG44 you could take out guys at a good distance with a quick controlled burst. DOD:Source felt too much like stupid arcadey Counterstrike.
The audio-work in Day of Defeat 1.3 was simply amazingly well done. It's really a shame how game developers nowadays tend to forget how big part even the simple stuff as ambient audio play in the immersion.
For all who dont know, there is a version of this map on DOD:S So, yeah, its epic. I love it, i play as America, but i die alot :P

The explosions in 1.3 are 1000 times better than the ones in Source.
I wish they'd keep these graphics but update it with things like lighting and ragdoll.
