The director was at the screening and he said that when people saw it repeatedly, they were always noticing something they hadn't seen in earlier viewings. What stuck in my mind was the name of the alien Federal Marshall--Urp. At first I thought that was a stupid name. Then it clicked. Urp. Earp! As in Marshall Wyatt Earp, known as being a career opportunist who took whatever work he could get and wound up being a marshall in Wichita and Dodge City, KS for five years. What a neat wordplay!

I saw this film yesterday. What a treat! An affectionate throwback to the great sci-fi films of the 1950s, this one features committed actors, an interesting plot and loving attention to details. While it is funny, there's not a "cute" moment in it or even a hint of the actors tipping a sly wink to the audience. The dialogue, clothing, backdrops and props are absolutely right for the period--they even got someone to play the theremin! This is a fantastic movie! Tell your friends!!
