  • I start my ORTHO rotation for med school tomorrow. I'm going in considering it as a career prospect, but I'm certainly glad I found this video. Many chuckles were had.

"there are more pressing issues for this woman right now!"

    "yes. Like the fracture."

    Ha!

  • so true, so true.

  • This isn't accurate at all....like not even a little bit.

  • Nice, ortho people are like this, they shud read some books

  • there is a fracture, I need to fix it. there is a fracture, I need to fix it. there is a fracture, I need to fix it. there is a fracture, I need to fix it. there is a fracture, I need to fix it. there is a fracture, I need to fix it. there is a fracture, I need to fix it. there is a fracture, I need to fix it. there is a fracture, I need to fix it. there is a fracture, I need to fix it. there is a fracture, I need to fix it. there is a fracture, I need to fix it. there is a fracture, I need to f

  • Now, I'm nobody; this was just recommended to me by YouTube. Can you understand why I will never, voluntarily, darken the door of a hospital? All of you scare the crap out of me because of this stuff. Anyway, it was VERY funny and I'll share it on facebook

  • What are these things

  • 24 people want to "fix it"

  • hilarious!!!!

  • i need to fix the fracture.

    please go away.

  • If you break your hand, I will fix it for you! lol..he is so kind hahaha

Reminded me when I was in nursing collage, at anatomy lab.. there was a corpus with a broken tibia.. it irritated me, I wanted to fix it!!

    Its an art!

  • nice.. good job!

  • SUPER LAME

  • Whoever made this video should go into show biz.

  • 23 orthopedic surgeons disliked this video

  • So true but funny as hell!

    Diese Aufschneider!!!

  • Yep!!! I have seen this!!!! Brilliant!

  • cant believe i wasted 2 mins of my life on this crap

    awful

  • @tige808 Well technically, you spent 3:22, and then more to comment so ... think before u speak, or so 2 say, Comment, ! lol

  • look my

  • I swear whenever he says 'There is a fracture' he sounds like Wolowitz from Big Bang

  • Hahaha... very funny!!!

  • I have no idea what all of those medical terms mean and I don't feel like looking them up... but the script is well written and their gestures and mannerisms are hilarious!

  • @chocolatedyme10 Asystole = no electrical activity in the heart.

  • this guy reminds me of my first orthopedic back when i was 10 a real moron

  • Okay.

  • I don't get it.

  • i dont think orthopedicians take this personally.. this is just a freaking hillarious conversation.. humor at its best... one who wrote this conversation really deserves accolades.. amazing.. i was able to write this comment only after 10 minutes of non stop laughter and tears

  • LMAO!

  • ROFL...I'm not a doctor but I know a person with a temperature of 29C is probably dead!

  • Love this one!

  • Anaesthesia without Ortho? Good for nuthin...

Ortho without Anaesthesia? Still your guy whenever u break a leg.

  • watch this video type this at the end of watch?v="RAsh0Di6b1o"

  • What a hoot! They make asystole sound like an Italian pastry!

  • OMG!! "She is not fit for a haircut!" Awesome!! :)

  • Who hasn't been there. Is it funny to be hoist upon our own petard? Sad actually

  • This one is briljant!

Showing it to everybody :D. Like the one about the anaestiologist too. and you should hear the number from Amateur Transplants (anaesthesists hymne), they are both anaesthesiologists.

  • @haenkie No, they are both anaethetists. Never understood why Americans need to take ology onto everything.

  • 19 people don't know what "asystole" means.

  • My god this video will upset sooooo much those clever orthopaedic surgeon....hahahahahaha I love the anaesthetist..

  • Okay, I know absolutely nothing about the subject, but I still found this video brilliant and hilarious, thumbed up and favorited.

  • Oh God. Sent this straight to my brother in med school. I had to look up what a "regstrar" was though, haha. I don't think we use that term in a hospital context in the US.

  • @MmMmGood In the UK, Australia and many commonwealth countries a registrar is a doctor who is training to specialise, I think in the US they are called residents.

  • XD Hilarious

  • wow nice waste of 3:22, gayest vid ive ever watched, not once did i get even close to laughing

  • Hilarious! I love these. I also like the one called "The host and the PM#5". So funny!

  • LOL!!!!!!!!!!! Funny as...

  • i'm good with hammers and power drills

  • How about surgeons and internists? Medical clearance for surgery in a patient with absolutely no comorbidities or risk factors?

  • Jajajjja good one!!

What's the best place to hide 100 dollars from an orthopedist??..... Inside a book!

  • i dont understand...

  • Very funny but not very realistic. I have never met an orthopod who could spout off a patient's temp or pH

  • Hilarious--cuz it is so true. A fabulous reminder of that old adage: all bleeding eventually stops!

  • Never gets old....So true

  • Nothing closer to reality. If these bone fixers could remove the bone from the patient's body and repair it like a part from a car, they would do it.And yes, they have no idea of how to deal with any co-morbidity associated to a patient, despite having scored 99 in their Steps, being all american and white. One thing they do know about:the lyrics of every depressing hard rock song to be played in the OR.It is awesome...

  • More!

  • This is not realistic. Every orthopod would recognize that a patient with asystole would have no way to pump ancef to the bone.

  • Orthopedic is greek for "fake doctor".

  • @ArztvomDienst Lol, actually when it translates it's.......Ortho (Greek) - Straight, and Pedics - translates into Pais (Greek) which means Child.

  • @ArztvomDienst Until you get hit by a car and have bi-lat tib fib fractures that is...

  • @dirtydodger oh 'cmon, where's your humor? :)

  • @ArztvomDienst I was trying to be...I suck.

  • @ArztvomDienst no it isn't. The Greek word 'ortho' means straight and 'pedics' comes from the Greek 'pais' meaning children.

  • Comment removed

  • @cjad251 oh c'mon, where's ur sense of humor dude? =]

  • @ArztvomDienst you're a fake doctor.

  • @polkadott304 your opinion is based on what? =) 'cause doctors don't favorite deadmou5 or aphex twin videos? or is it the colors of my profile? tz dude don't get so upset just because of a comment on a video, it's a joke, use it with gynecologist or radiologist or what-ever-you-like ;)

  • @ArztvomDienst

Sounds like someone didn't match into ortho? You should have studied a bit harder for your boards and eased up on your douche-bagarry!!!

  • @ArztvomDienst tell me in what way orthopedic surgeons are fake :P. Imho, psychiatry is a lot further from medicine then orthopedics (not that different from any kind of surgical speciality).

  • @zaps1 Oh c'mon, its just a joke, use it with whatever you like, radiologist, gyno, etc.

Have so many lost their sense of humor? =)

  • @ArztvomDienst with so much ignorant people on youtube, it's difficult to tell when somebody is kidding haha.

  • @zaps1 I don't think Orthopaedic surgeons are fake. The video focuses on the fact they are just very focused on their single speciality. They often don't see the bigger picture of everything else going on. This is what I believe the video is attempting to clarify in a humorous way.

  • @benedwarbenedwar youre a very funny person - you get jokes

  • @ArztvomDienst ArztvomDienst is German for "dumbass"

  • @druidboy76 you're right! thats why it's mostly called "Arsch vom Dienst"

  • LOOOVE IT

  • Too close to the truth!!

  • this is freakin" hilarious

  • You've hit the nail on the head guys!

  • lol

  • Nice.

  • hilarious! Keep these kinds of videos coming!

  • It's funny because it's true

  • this is hilarious!!!!

  • Only the country changes... Here in Brazil it´s the same!! Hilarious!!! Congrats!!

  • Omg! Hilarious!

  • It's asystole. aka Flatline

  • Comment removed

  • The five lies of Surgery,

    I. Of course it's an emergency.

    2. Blood loss with be minimal.

    3. It will only take an hour.

    4. It was dry when we closed.

    5. Thanks anesthesia, we couldn't have do it without you.

  • Why can't we do send bloody surgeons to the University again!? It would save some more lives, hopefully... An old anaesthetist.

  • pH 6.8.. but otherwise well... LOL

  • the reason that there is no comeback for this is because the orthopedic surgeon is doing work...and the anaethetist is creating this video on his iPhone while sitting behind a curtain. This must have been a good break from his crossword puzzle or sudoku...

    though it is funny

  • the 29 degrees is celcius...

this is hilarious...it doesn't need a rebuttle, it's just funny.

  • We just heard this in the OR this morning and just could not stop laughing!!

  • There is yet to be an adequate response to this hilarious cartoon. Come on all you orthopods, don't you have a sense of humour?

  • @rgml1957

We do have a sense of humour ... what we don't have is time to come up with a video response...

Here in Greece the joke goes otherwise.

How can you distinguish a registrar from his clogs...

    - The Surgeon's have blood on them...

    - The OBGYN have amniotic fluid

    - The Urologist's have urine

    - The Orthopedist's have casting materials and blood

    - The Anaesthesiologist's have ... coffee

and the nephrologist....well they wear sandals and other elegant shoes not clogs

  • Hilarious.

Do one between a Nephrologist and a Urologist or oohh! oohhh! Do a trauma surgeon vs. an OBGYN!

  • Anaethetist having a Piss about clever orthopods

  • brilliant! have you seen the Orthopaedics v Psychiatry version?

  • Love this! My orthopod and mom were laughing their heads off at my follow up appt and I hadto see what was so funny!

If you break it, I will fix it XD

  • there is a fracture. i need to fix it

  • ROFLMAO!!!! I love this...there will be minimal bleeding....hahahaha!!!!!!!

  • Surg Tech here! Doing trauma shift, me and the nurse are cracking up!

  • every OR in the US has this thing going around. hilarious. where my SURG TECHS AT? whoop!

  • ALL ORTHPODS ARE INTERESTED IN........

  • absolute classic - brilliant!

  • The only thing missing is the orthopaedic definition of the heart.................

    A pump for Keflin

  • Liquid molten gold running down the stairs towards ortho theatres. Also reminds me of many referrals from the Emergency Dept to Medical Registrars.

  • we listed to this the other day while fixing a fracture of a femur, this video is right on! We here these excuses all the time betwen surgeons and anesthesiA!!!!!!

  • This is the best ever

  • When the anesthesia team deny the procedure, he should look her in the eyes and say:

    -"I´ll be back!"

    Hahahahahhahaha

"There is a fracture, I need to fix it!" New slogan!

  • Hilarious!! Pure gold. I swear every specialty is now getting in on the act: checkout radiology vs. emergency too..

  • I love this!!!!!

  • Worked with an orthopod the other day who looked me in the eye, over the drape during a case, and said, "there is a fracture, i need to fix it" with identical inflection. too funny...

  • Our doctors all look like Hello Kitty....

  • people who don't think this is funny need to uprade their sense of humor

  • I can't believe that 12 people didn't like this. How can anyone, even orthopod's, not find this funny.

  • This is so funny and so true

  • The bone is a femur!!! HA HA HA HA HA!!!

  • Best one out there! Check out my Obama Zombies one by clicking on my name... It gets pretty crude as it progresses though...

  • currently amusing my entire year in vet science. :D

  • Our department has the new catch phrase: "there is a fracture, I need to fix it!" genious! Still can't help watching it one more time...

  • lulz this is not funny nvm AHAHAHAHA!!!!! the ending was knida histarical compared to the rest

  • I work with both these characters everyday........ my wife wonders why I'm tired and / or frustrated at the end of the day. I try to keep smiling....

  • FAN - FUCKING - TASTIC !!!

  • lol

  • Extremely funny video. Not as funny as my video enacting casual encounter postings from craigslist. Click my name to check out the video.

  • Laughed so hard I almost cried "a condition I have never heard of before - asystole" "there will be minimal blood loss"

  • ABSO-BLOODY-LUTELY HILARIOUS!!!!

  • Heeheehee. Hilarious!!!!!

  • I love this video! It is so true. We had it playing in the OR for the staff and everybody thought it was fantastic!

  • This is hilarious!

  • i dont get it

  • @killzowned87 You must be an Orthopedic Surgeon...

  • haha if her pH is 6.8 shes already getting acidotic, so why take her anyways.... oh yeah and don't forget about asystole.

  • Great job! this inspired me to make one of my own - anaesthetist and nurse

  • Ha Ha... temp of 29 degrees and pH of 6.8

  • So great! You inspired me! Check out my version: Anesthesia vs Neurosurgery

  • OMG!! that is hillarious!!

  • Oh Sh*t! I think I went to that doctor...once. ~LOL~

  • Frickin hilarious! The surgery dept that I work in loved it!

  • If you break your hand, I will fix it for you LOL

  • ASSISTOLY LOOOOOL

  • Laughed my ass off! Just like the real world.

  • How true, and I am in the business, if a surgeon does not get his way, he reacts like a spoiled two year old!!! I love watching the show!!!

  • brilliant!

  • Whoever put this video up should get every possible award from Emmy to Pulitzer to Nobel. I laughed so hard my sides started to hurt. I sent it to everyone in the health biz that I know. Each time I look at it, the number of views have doubled! A true Classic. Thanks.

  • doesn't mind if you work in Europe or US...it's always the same history :-)

  • funny on BOTH sides of the conversation! LOL...how many times have we heard THIS convo in the O.R. Love it!!!

  • I laughed so hard I think I blew out some lung tissue. So funny! I watched this with some surgeons and another NP today and I thought we were going to pee our pants. Strong work!!!

  • It is possible this is the funniest thing I have every seen in my life. For the rest of my career I will be saying "there is a fracture, I need to fix it." Thank you.

The only thing wrong is I'm having trouble understanding why the damn anesthesiologist won't book the case.

  • She is fasted. That is good.

  • So funny! Loved it! OR humor, gotta love it!

  • I have been a surgical tech for 14 years. This IS a typical conversation between Otho and anesthesia. LOL!!

  • That is truly hillarious. Very nice!
