He also was confirmed in the Daizenshu to be SSJ2 against Dabura, which he didn't have lightning. Also a clear difference between Adult Gohan SSJ and SSJ2 is the hair. SSJ2 Gohan has spikier hair and has only 1 band, while SSJ Gohan has two bangs less spiky hair. Look it up if you would like.
I think Gohan was a SS2 in this fight, even if the traditional SS2 lighting aura wasn't there, it's just a mistake by the animation department. And he puts up a better fight than he or the others did in the previous Broly movie. Also if Broly can demolish two FPSS1s, two ASS1s & a Super Namek in the first movie(with extreme ease), then one SS1would be no problem for him.

How you can tell Gohan is a SSJ2. at 0:37 you see gohans hair. When Adult gohans hair when he is SSJ1 has a Big lock hanging down and one Tiny Strand hanging down next to it. When he is SSJ2 the Strand Disappears and all you can see is one lock/bang thing on his forehead. It tells you in DBZ Budakai tenkaichi 3 in the character profiles

The lack of electricity seems to be the cliched arguement of why gohan isnt ssj2...he's a ssj2 look at his design as compared to the world tournament its the same as well as the fact that gohan has one bang here and has 2 when he transforms to fire a kamehameha..theres been times even in the anime ( like when gohan fought the cell juniors and cell ) where his aura didnt emit lightning and he was ssj2..its pretty much the animators fault while they arent shown here.

@Random1567 Gohan's hair grew by the time DBZ got to the tournament. It's obvious, actually. It explains why his SSJ1 has only one bang instead of 2 now. Gohan's hair grew to the point of the bangs combining because the smaller bang had no more room. Since he had more hair in normal form, his SSJ hair changed into a different style.
Stop bandwagoning what other people say. Gohan was SSJ1, and there IS evidence to clearly support this. Never before has a SS1 had the type of sparks SS2 has.

In movies, its common for SSJ2's to not have sparks from movies 12, 13 and yes, even 10 (I agree he's a SSJ2 in this movie..because his SSJ1 is clearly seen towards the end of the movie in the final beam struggle). This movie takes place before the tournament where Gohan's hair style changed overall.

Dude, taking energy is not equal to fusion, otherwise Buu would have gone down WITHOUT Earth's energy. SSJ3 anyone could beat Brolly unless he's Zenkai's 10-20 times over.
LSSJ also have a short shelf-life. Vegita mentions in the past about the original Planet Vegita being blown up by a LSSJ that went critical and blew both himself and Planet V to pieces. So Brolly doesn't have too many good years in him before he just goes boom. His biggest threat is becoming a "Cell" bomb.
Where do you think the term came from to name Broly's power? Vegita ALWAYS mentions the SSJ of "Legend" when talking about past SSJ. The legend only mentions that he achieved a state so powerful he has to remain in a transformed state, but still ended up not able to control it and destroyed the planet and himself in the manga, the anime is what tossed in the golden ape part. Describes Broly to a T. He'd be dead now if it wasn't for his father holding him back.
@fullmetalgod They may have jacked the label but it doesn't specifically say anything about a "Legendary Super Saiyan" as its own transformation. If the last super saiyan emerged 1000/3000 years ago (depending on your source), then that's "legend" status. It doesn't necessarily mean "green aura and more powerful than even a SSJ2".
It looks far different than any others seen. I think that's why it's called the "LSSJ", just in honor of the "Legendary" title Brolly had in the movie when they refer to him. (Before they knew it was him, even.) I doubt it's official, but that's the descriptor for his transformation due to all that green shit he makes. (He makes it even when not in the "LSSJ" form, tho.)
I agree with you. I don't think Broly is stronger than Teen Gohan SSJ2. At MAX he's SP Cell's level, IMO.
@fullmetalgod I honestly don't know about the whole SSJ2 vs. LSSJ thing. I had always assumed that Broly was just USSJ2 (god what a fan-made nightmare all that crap is) with his own little twist. But after watching adult SSJ2 Gohan get his ass handed to him, I got a little confused. There is the fact that Gohan was out of training, and Broly zenkai'd, but still, I never thought that would happen.
It's possible his rising power maintains his USSJ2 muscle but allowing him speed benefits since he has no need to ration his ki like Trunks. Just a theory, though.

I think the best fight was Frieza ( full power) against Super Sayien Goku it was an even fight with neither of them really winning till Frieza's body just counldn't handel the strain. This was to one-sided for me

There is no reference to Broly in the Manga, and thus saying anyone is wrong when it comes to power levels is ridiculous. What we do know is that he's a saiyan, so after getting his ass kicked on new planet vegeta he has to be stronger than before. It took everyones power together in one spot to kill broly, and I believe broly was stronger than Cell. Nowhere near SSJ3 Goku though, on sheer principle that I would not say Broly Could have beaten buu.

With all of his ally's power he would have barely matched up to a SSJ2. Broly was defeated. He came back from near death which made him much stronger. Yet this increase could IN NO WAY compare to a SSJ3. Broly might have been stronger than SSJ2 at that point, but it's rediculous to compare him to SSJ3 Broly. The jump in power from SSJ2 to SSJ3 is huge.
@Hampson599 Hmm. Possibly. I don't know though. The Kaioken move is supposed to multiply your power, so when Goku uses it 20X, he is 20X stronger. But then again, the super saiyan transformation probably multiplies even higher. We can't tell because Goku was so much stronger when he fought Frieza than when he fought Vegeta.
@metalmel16 During the first movie you are right. SSJ1 Goku had enough power from all of his friends to make him "roughly" SSJ2. After coming back from near death Broly would be significantly stronger. I think it's fair to say he is around a SSJ2 by the second movie, but as for the other guy's argument, Broly is NOWHERE near a SSJ3.
@goodgamersambo Mystic Gohan is a good deal stronger than SSJ3 Goku is. Toryiama has said many times he wanted Gohan to be the focus of DBZ in the later sagas as opposed to Goku.
Also, look at their fights against Super Buu- Mystic Gohan was able to hold his own against Buutenks for a little bit before Buu got into his head using Piccolo- when Goku thought he was going to have to fight Buutenks, he about shit his pants.

@707united No he was. Often in DBZ SSJ2's will not be shown with lightning. Also why would Gohan not use his Full Power knowing how strong Broly is? He also was confirmed in the Daizenshu to be SSJ2 against Dabura, which he didn't have lightning. Also a clear difference between Adult Gohan SSJ and SSJ2 is the hair. SSJ2 Gohan has spikier hair and has only 1 band, while SSJ Gohan has two bangs less spiky hair. Look it up if you would like.

I think Gohan was a SS2 in this fight, even if the traditional SS2 lighting aura wasn't there, it's just a mistake by the animation department. And he puts up a better fight than he or the others did in the previous Broly movie. Also if Broly can demolish two FPSS1s, two ASS1s & a Super Namek in the first movie(with extreme ease), then one SS1would be no problem for him.

How you can tell Gohan is a SSJ2. at 0:37 you see gohans hair. When Adult gohans hair when he is SSJ1 has a Big lock hanging down and one Tiny Strand hanging down next to it. When he is SSJ2 the Strand Disappears and all you can see is one lock/bang thing on his forehead. It tells you in DBZ Budakai tenkaichi 3 in the character profiles

The lack of electricity seems to be the cliched arguement of why gohan isnt ssj2...he's a ssj2 look at his design as compared to the world tournament its the same as well as the fact that gohan has one bang here and has 2 when he transforms to fire a kamehameha..theres been times even in the anime ( like when gohan fought the cell juniors and cell ) where his aura didnt emit lightning and he was ssj2..its pretty much the animators fault while they arent shown here.

@Random1567 Gohan's hair grew by the time DBZ got to the tournament. It's obvious, actually. It explains why his SSJ1 has only one bang instead of 2 now. Gohan's hair grew to the point of the bangs combining because the smaller bang had no more room. Since he had more hair in normal form, his SSJ hair changed into a different style.
Stop bandwagoning what other people say. Gohan was SSJ1, and there IS evidence to clearly support this. Never before has a SS1 had the type of sparks SS2 has.

In movies, its common for SSJ2's to not have sparks from movies 12, 13 and yes, even 10 (I agree he's a SSJ2 in this movie..because his SSJ1 is clearly seen towards the end of the movie in the final beam struggle). This movie takes place before the tournament where Gohan's hair style changed overall.

@mastalks much trouble with a not full powerd dabura. 5 lets look at it like this you've got vegeta gohan goku and trunks all post chamber power levels and you've got piccolo post fusion with kami (stronger than ss1 vegeta but weaker than super vegeta) vs broly who beat the crap out of them meaning broly won until goku took all of their powers into himself making him equal to ss2 gohan (cell saga) who then beat broly=goku won, then you have broly vs gohan(buu saga) whose equal to goku(cell saga)

There is no logic to explain that, if this was true vegeta would have said something when the supreme kai believed gohan was "still the strongest fighter at the tournament". Also in all fairness, how serious do you think broly was during their fight? Maybe he should have killed him if he was going all out, but he wasn't

@mastalks well remember vegeta's arrogant ways and about how strong he and goku was and how they surpress their power levels i think that(and this is just a guess) either vegeta was paying no attention to supreme kai or that he had no interest in proving surpeme kai wrong since he just wanted to fight goku. And i meant to say that gohan {buu saga} is equal to or just a lil bit stronger than goku{cell saga}. and thats what surprises me about this movie why wasnt broly going all out when he

Dude, taking energy is not equal to fusion, otherwise Buu would have gone down WITHOUT Earth's energy. SSJ3 anyone could beat Brolly unless he's Zenkai's 10-20 times over.
LSSJ also have a short shelf-life. Vegita mentions in the past about the original Planet Vegita being blown up by a LSSJ that went critical and blew both himself and Planet V to pieces. So Brolly doesn't have too many good years in him before he just goes boom. His biggest threat is becoming a "Cell" bomb.

Where do you think the term came from to name Broly's power? Vegita ALWAYS mentions the SSJ of "Legend" when talking about past SSJ. The legend only mentions that he achieved a state so powerful he has to remain in a transformed state, but still ended up not able to control it and destroyed the planet and himself in the manga, the anime is what tossed in the golden ape part. Describes Broly to a T. He'd be dead now if it wasn't for his father holding him back.

@fullmetalgod They may have jacked the label but it doesn't specifically say anything about a "Legendary Super Saiyan" as its own transformation. If the last super saiyan emerged 1000/3000 years ago (depending on your source), then that's "legend" status. It doesn't necessarily mean "green aura and more powerful than even a SSJ2".

It looks far different than any others seen. I think that's why it's called the "LSSJ", just in honor of the "Legendary" title Brolly had in the movie when they refer to him. (Before they knew it was him, even.) I doubt it's official, but that's the descriptor for his transformation due to all that green shit he makes. (He makes it even when not in the "LSSJ" form, tho.)
I agree with you. I don't think Broly is stronger than Teen Gohan SSJ2. At MAX he's SP Cell's level, IMO.

@fullmetalgod I honestly don't know about the whole SSJ2 vs. LSSJ thing. I had always assumed that Broly was just USSJ2 (god what a fan-made nightmare all that crap is) with his own little twist. But after watching adult SSJ2 Gohan get his ass handed to him, I got a little confused. There is the fact that Gohan was out of training, and Broly zenkai'd, but still, I never thought that would happen.

It's possible his rising power maintains his USSJ2 muscle but allowing him speed benefits since he has no need to ration his ki like Trunks. Just a theory, though.
Don't forget the lack of sparks. That's the thing that stokes debate the most, lol.
Brolly isn't canon, so they don't have to keep to any sort of continuity. I'm fairly sure that if teen Gohan fought him SSJ2, he would crush Broly. Honestly, I think Gohan was SSJ1 just so Goku had a reason to appear.

I think the best fight was Frieza ( full power) against Super Sayien Goku it was an even fight with neither of them really winning till Frieza's body just counldn't handel the strain. This was to one-sided for me

There is no reference to Broly in the Manga, and thus saying anyone is wrong when it comes to power levels is ridiculous. What we do know is that he's a saiyan, so after getting his ass kicked on new planet vegeta he has to be stronger than before. It took everyones power together in one spot to kill broly, and I believe broly was stronger than Cell. Nowhere near SSJ3 Goku though, on sheer principle that I would not say Broly Could have beaten buu.

With all of his ally's power he would have barely matched up to a SSJ2. Broly was defeated. He came back from near death which made him much stronger. Yet this increase could IN NO WAY compare to a SSJ3. Broly might have been stronger than SSJ2 at that point, but it's rediculous to compare him to SSJ3 Broly. The jump in power from SSJ2 to SSJ3 is huge.

@Hampson599 Hmm. Possibly. I don't know though. The Kaioken move is supposed to multiply your power, so when Goku uses it 20X, he is 20X stronger. But then again, the super saiyan transformation probably multiplies even higher. We can't tell because Goku was so much stronger when he fought Frieza than when he fought Vegeta.

@metalmel16 During the first movie you are right. SSJ1 Goku had enough power from all of his friends to make him "roughly" SSJ2. After coming back from near death Broly would be significantly stronger. I think it's fair to say he is around a SSJ2 by the second movie, but as for the other guy's argument, Broly is NOWHERE near a SSJ3.

@goodgamersambo Mystic Gohan is a good deal stronger than SSJ3 Goku is. Toryiama has said many times he wanted Gohan to be the focus of DBZ in the later sagas as opposed to Goku.
Also, look at their fights against Super Buu- Mystic Gohan was able to hold his own against Buutenks for a little bit before Buu got into his head using Piccolo- when Goku thought he was going to have to fight Buutenks, he about shit his pants.
