  • MAESTRO!!

  • mhm this is amazing.

  • 71/72 HIM AND BUDDY USED TO PLAY ON SHERIDAN RD. (FORGOT NAME A CLUB. ) USED TO GET ON STAGE AND JAM HARP WITH EM. GOLDEN MEMMORIES.

  • Got to see him before he died.. He stood beside the dressing room for a couple of hours, signed autographs at Skipper's Smoke House.. Fl. I got him to sign a flyer for the show and my wife had him sign her chest. He exclaimed, " What you try'in to do? Kill this old man!" RIP Jr. He was the best! Buddy Guy played with him but Jr. was the show!

  • I'm glad I saw Jr. play live before he died.

  • Esto es musica! amazing!

    JR

  • Junior Wells, wild man--good man gone wild. Blues man!

  • Junior's attack is just incomparable. There are a lot of great harp players out there (and a million more wannabe hacks), but Junior just dives in. From the very first note, he just goes after it like a pit bull with a raw steak. That's why he's one of the greatest of all time.

  • hes got same thing that james browm had and whit an harp makes it better

  • Saw Buddy two nights in a row in Dec. '94 and he changed my musical life.

Discovered Jr Wells through that experience and in the end was even more affected by him!

  • nice stuff

  • Saw Jr Wells at the Glue Pot in Auckland NZ back in the early 90s. Fantastic show and a really rocking band .

  • Saw Jr and Buddy in a small bar around this time. They were partying so hard they played the same song twice in a row and didn't realize it.

  • @chrook

    Ha, ha, that's hilarious !

Not that I'm endorsing excessive drinking and so on; but it's still funny.

  • What you see Wells going, is what is friend did, Little Walter and that is playing thru the PA system or using a PA system...if you got tone you got tone..LOVE IT!!!

  • The Godfather of the BLUES!

  • Thanks for this ! if Junior doesn't move and stir ya nothing will.

  • Anymo!

  • First Note he howled and i was hooked..

    until the end..

  • Do anyone have VietCong Blues by Junior,I think without a doubt that was his greatest song, and one of the most powerful songs ever recorded in any genre of music. The powers that be didn't want to hear that song.

  • Hi Gus,

This is great !!! Thanks a bunch. I currently play with Doug McDonald. He is the big guy with the sunglasses playing guitar (gold color) on the right side of the stage. Doug played with Junior, Buddy Guy, Phil Guy, Albert King, Jimmy Reed, and many more as a side man. He now fronts his own band singing and playing guitar here in Chicago. He's an amazing musician. Go see him Live !!!! Can you please add the tag "Doug McDonald".

    Thanks,

    RJ
