Yeah, it was overheating, and I was pretty pissed at it at the time. But that was years ago, and has long-since been fixed under warranty. So now we're still having a beautiful, bit-rot free relationship, long after a Windows machine would have ground to a halt.
But thanks for dropping by anyway, and your kind offer of help :-D
As far as I'm aware, the MacBook Pro is much better / robust. The guy at the store I go to for all things Mac upgraded his from the MB to the MB Pro, and says it's the best thing he's ever done. Then again, this might have been a cunning sales ploy!
funnypeople999 - No this was a problem with early (pre-week 26/2006 production) Macbooks, which is now resolved. If yours is newer than this, then it *should* be working just fine!
I think that your fan is broken because the temperatures of the cores are very high and he won't start up again. Maybe go to the Apple Store and ask to test your fans.
No, the fans were running just fine. In fact they were working really hard to try to keep the temperature down - shame it wasn't picked up by my camera's mic. Apparantly it's something to do with the heat sink (?), which has been fixed on all but the earliest MBs.
My MacBook Pro (the new one) have the same problem!! Sometimes it just shut down! And its not so hot, and the battery is almost full !!

That does suck, If Apple dosn't replace it I would take the video to the Apple store. Good Luck.
