@StephenFiorentini The G&L guitars are largely George (Fullerton) and Leo trying to advance previous Fender designs. Whether they're truly better is down to the preferences of the individual player.

@88dreamer88 I have an ASAT Classic Bluesboy semi-hollow and the sound from a semi-hollow is much warmer and as more bass than a solid body. Its not as hardcore as a Hollow body but you can hear the difference between a solid body and a semi-hollow body. Hope that helps :)

The G&L ASAT Special is a fantastic sounding and extremely well constructed guitar. I have a 90's 3 bolt with an ash body and rosewood neck. Also bought a semi-hollow ASAT special ash with maple neck (for my son). The MFD pickups are sensational providing a distinctive, clear and and broad tonal palate. One of the best things about G&L's) is how you can roll off the volume without any major (treble) loss in tone or character. Now all I have to do is learn how to play half as well as Andy!

I just got one of these in Fullerton Red. It is a work of art. Absolutely remarkable guitar. This video is great, but doesn't come close to doing it justice. You haven't lived until you've played a USA G+L.

I'm a Luthier by trade & I own a ASAT Classic. It's easily the best Tele I have ever played. My only complaint is the re sale is lousy. It's a great used guitar buy. For $500- $600 you get a Tele that rivals anything Fender makes.
