  • hey doll..where can I get the yawn to do my braids...tried to see the packaging your using I live in the UK and I bc in october...was rocking a fade now my hair will be ling enough to braid by the end of the month but i want to get the yawn braids as I heard it was better for super short hair as it doesnt slip out like the human or synthetic hair does. Please let me know. Thanks in advance

  • @jahcia you can go to any place that sell fabric or yarn...it doesn't matter. But what I understand is the "key" is in the type of yarn not what brand. You must use acrylic yarn only in your hair if you use wool it will lock and twist with your natural hair. Hope this helps.

  • those are sooooooooo beautiful!!!!

  • @ladyki48235 thank you =)

  • @prettipoison27 youre welcome, how much would you charge to do someones yarn braids?

  • gurl i answerd my own quest they surely do work...except you get that minor buldge where the loc ends n the yarn begins...but they just look like knots and add character to me...thanks for the vid!

  • @shamia3121 sorry so late lol...i'm glad the yarn braids worked out for you!

  • O mg good to know

  • @karihmah like your mom?

  • hair is on point!!!!!! so you have to use super hot water right?

  • @lecha2344 thank you. and yes it has to be boiling if you want it to crinkle up

  • does it matter what kind of yarn u use is it like the yearn u use when making blankets and scarfs

  • @myalne um...girl I have no idea lol. I don't know too much about yarn honestly. I just know to get the acrylic...hope that helps

  • @NubianRockerChick thank you!

  • Do you wash your hair with these in? It seems like it would mess up the style if you do.

  • @skinnyjeans91 yes you can definitely wash them. it won't mess up the yarn braids

  • THOSE ARE SO CUTE, my boyfriend would love me in those...im getting!!!! :)

  • @THOWEDkitty thank you =)...and yes the guys loved them too lol

  • @88948895611499 thank you. sorry that happened to your edges =(

  • I really like this style, but I'm scared if I put these in my head that they will be in my head forever because I would not feel like taking it out let along putting it in lol.

  • @jelicabean lol i was feelin the same way girl

  • How did you get yours curly. I love yours

  • thanks for the inspiration! did my first set a few weeks ago. i love how you layered yours, i may try that too

  • @FeelingMsMoody you're very welcome =) and thanks!

  • did yu use hot water to make them curl?

  • people if you are considering this style try it. i wore yarn braids for years and my hair grew soooooo much. prettipoison27 I also wanted to tell you this style looks good on you and you look really pretty with it. You are making me consider wearing yarn braids again.

  • @soyicasweet99 I totally agree with you about trying them out, and thanks girly =)

  • these are the cutest. did u burn the ends?

  • @rariTee yes, I tied a knot at the end then burned it

  • This style is super cute! I have watched this video so many times and talked myself out of doing them cuz I heard taking them down is a big hard mess. Did you have a time getting your yarn braids down? Please be honest because I'm trying to figure out if I want to start doing this style tomorrow. I know you say just braiding was hard, but what about the take down and also, did you get much hair growth from them?

  • @mosthi100 Taking it down wasn't hard, it was just long honestly. It took about 4 days for me since I got pretty lazy. I got some hair growth. I only kept them in for 4 weeks so I wasn't expecting much. But I think you should go ahead and try them out!

  • @mosthi100 I think that taking yarn braids down isn't any less hard than taking synthetic hair braids down. Its much faster if you know where your hair length stops (So you can cut off the yarn) and also if you have 2 sets of hands. LOL

  • The whole effect that you did is what make your yarn braids stand out and the fact that they are in small parts as well. In short... -very pretty!

  • @1misunderstoodmisfit thank you =) I did 3 layers. Of course the back was the longest, then I cut about 1-1.5 inches off to create the middle layer...and I did the same when I got to the top. Hope that helps!

  • did you do all of your yarn braids as on length or did you layer it ( if yes then how did you do so )

  • I love it...

  • @MsKnowledge91 thank you

  • @QueenImmaculate awe thanks girl

  • @Urnombreaqui thank you

  • soooo cute. i love the texture u added to the braids

  • @4263484 thank you

  • Luv your braids! Do you know why yours look smaller (which is better and cuter to me) compared to the other vids here on YT? I like the smaller braid look and want to recreate it.

  • @mizh863 thank you...I guess because I just made smaller sections...I also only used two pieces of yarn in the front instead of 3

  • @prettipoison27 how exactly did you do it with two strands? You folded one over the other right? If so then that means one strand was doubled, and the other two were single? That didn't create an uneven look?

Your Yarn braids are the best I've ever seen btw, I'd love for mine to come out like this....

  • @blackmasterpeice Thank you. Nope the look wasn't uneven at all. check at my video called Tight Yarnbraids and that's how I did them =)

  • @prettipoison27 thanks alot, I think I'm gonna go for it, I really hope mine come out looking as great as yours =)

  • @blackmasterpeice you're welcome and good luck!

  • it looks so real! It's amazing!

  • @gogobergie2000 haha...thank you!

  • Prettipoison27 did you cut after you dipped and burned them?

  • @Sassyone08 No, I cut the braid after I made the little knot at the end...then I burned the end to keep it from unraveling....I only dipped the braids in hot water to curl them...hope this helps =)

  • @Sassyone08 No, I cut the braid after I made the little knot at the end...then I burned the end to keep it from unraveling....I only dipped the braids in hot water to curl them...hope this helps =)

  • your hair looks so cute, was it just that 1 pack of yarn you used for your whole head?

  • @MsKHope6307 thanks girl, and yes one spool was more than enough for my head

  • I DID THEM... it ONLY took three days lol... they are long as crap but i will let you know when i do my first vid. Thanks so much for the tutorial and the help...

  • @NubianaNoire757 oooh great! I want to see how they turned out! and you're welcome girl =)

  • Your hair looks great! Does your hair have to be natural to do this style? My hair is not natural but I love loc styles . I was looking into synthetic locs but its so expensive to get done plus from what I have read you must have a certain amount of natural new growth. But anyway I love this yarn braid loc look!

  • @irvingd1 Thanks =) No, you definitely don't have to be natural, just make sure you have some type of good gel on hand because I helped my relaxed friend do her yarn braids and a lot of her hairs were sticking out of the yarn and not blending well without the gel...

  • @prettipoison27

Thanks for your response! I am going to look into getting them done eventually! I wish I could but I definitely can't do them myself!

  • @irvingd1 you're welcome...and you can definitely do them girl!!! lol...but however you get them done, I hope they turn out cute, good luck!

  • I Need to Learn how to Get Braids Closer to the Scalp it's quite frustrating lol

PLEASE do a Tutorial on how To make it closer

  • okay i have 2 questions. warning may be weird or dumb.

    1. How many rolls of yarn did you use or need for this style?

    2. Is that you on the dark and lovely box?

  • @GothGirlAlert I only used one spool...and not even all of it....LOL no that's not me...I was just showing it because I used it to dye my hair black...these questions are fine lol

  • Cute

  • @MsTally1981 thanks

  • @prettipoison27 maybe my first vid will be on my yarn braids and then on how i started my locs from there lol...get my youtubin jumpstarted lol

  • @NubianaNoire757 that's a good idea. I'm sure a lot of females want to transition to dreads using yarn braids and your journey can help them along the way =)

  • Im doing mine tomorrow and I have decided to let this be my style to transition to dreads. Due to my profession, the "in between" stages for dreads arent gonna work lol. Do you have any tips about transitioning these to dreads??

  • @NubianaNoire757 Hm...well I'm not really sure lol. But I think it should be pretty easy. All you really have to do is retwist your roots when you feel they need to be twisted... retwists were so quick when I had my yarn braids... dreads take a little more time...I wish I could give you more advice, but since I've never done it, I don't know much about it lol. Good luck tho!

  • Cute!

  • @QueenSemiramis thank you!

  • you were the reason I wanted yarn braids.

  • @zanlovesmusic aww thank you!

  • Girl! Now honestly I wasn't a fan of the yarn braids at first...but girrrlll....these are gorgeous on you! I think I want sum now! *_*

  • @SimplyNatural85 thank you!. get some girl!

  • so how long did you cut your yarn to get that length??? i like that length and since yours are smaller they seem more versatile than black onyx as well

  • @NubianaNoire757 I have no idea...I just wrapped the yarn around 2 table legs....but I'm not sure the exact length, sorry

  • thanks to you i so wanna get this dont to my hair lol :)

  • @schmidty145 coolness!

  • i love this and im getting it done to my hair now!! :)

  • @yugianna coolness!! hope you like it girl!

  • i never wanted these braids until i saw yours . i have had natural hair for 9yyrs now and wear a series of braids or quick weaves. and i also see we have almost the same grade of hair do these braids slip out easily?

  • @MEIMEI771 I had absolutely no problems with my hair slipping out at all =)

  • i love it my whole family has it!!!keep up the good work

  • @tdb220 aww thanks =)

  • I love it !!!! I think this is how I am going to do my hair next

  • @QueenKerika thank you, you should!

  • PLEASE DO A TUT ON HOW TO GET THE BRAIDS CLOSER TO THE SCALP..

  • LOVE IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!

  • @stayBlessed13 thank you!!

  • so cute!!!!!!!!

  • @tcutie87 thank you =)

  • I'm totally late at seeing this vid but I decided to do yarn twist and decided to look up others who have done this. Your video and black onyx is great along with a few others. I was just wondering if after you krinkle your hair and then shampoo day comes, does the yarn revert back straight? Thanks and love the vids! :)

  • @suitelady90 It get's straight when you wash it.

  • @suitelady90 thank you and yes 312kay is right it goes back straight

  • i'm gonna do my hair like that and pray they come out right. but i only saw a small spool and different brand of yarn but its acrylic will that work

  • @Monie3159 yes it should work...if its a small spool get two just to be sure you have enough

  • how long did it take you?

  • @Jillian123ish since I was bein lazy around 4 days

  • How did you get them so small???? I just did mines and they were a tad bit thick....

  • @jamilano1 I only used two strings of yarn in the front and made smaller parts

  • looks really nice & natural.

  • @glamazon67 thank you

  • how many packs of yarn did you use
