It was a huge mistake to let Greece into the EU. The Greeks cooked the books to get in. There is no way you can make equitably budget cuts. Devaluation is the best method, but they don't have that option for now. The EU is stuck, so is Greece. The knuckle heads in Brussels are just as guilty as the Greeks to let this monetary union happened almost ten years ago. D-I-V-O-R-C-E is going to be painful but it's the right thing to do in the long run.

As government it makes the working people pay for the world economic crisis and lets the bosses go free after a decade of profit taking, especially asociated with the grotesque public expenditures on the Olympics. Many businessmen hide income in Greece and avoid taxes...BUT are most willing to accept public services for free.

These austerity measures are being implemented simply because it is an opportunity to finally change the overly socialist structure in Greece.

I'm sure Greece has some huge debts etc, but I have feeling that this could be a blessing in disguise. I don't know, we'll have to wait and see.

Actually, the US is in the same fiscal situation as Iceland, Greece, Spain, Portugal and other bankrupt Western nations.

The only difference here is China and Japan continue to lend money to prop up US economy. China and Japan certainly aren't going to lend money to any EU country.

I don't believe corruption is progressing the EU nor the eurozone. We all seen Greece and the Transparancy International ranked Greece as the most corrupt country within the EU.

Now.. corruption does one thing to a country. It destroyes it. That's the only goal of corruption.

Greece is in the eurozone. When they wouldnt we, wouldnt give a fuck. At this moment our euro is less worth because of Greece. That needs change. Not by the rest but by Greece.

You're an idiot and don't know what you're talking about, the only reason the Euro is falling is because of "panic selling" caused by a media outpouring of rumors and nonsense, the fog can be cleared and eased unfortunately it seems that some groups want the Euro to disappear or at least weaken by causing a domino effect starting with Greece, if Greece was never in the Euro zone then the next weakest link like Ireland or Spain would be in the same position, it really doesn't matter.
