finally, a video with a GOOD thief player. All other thief footage videos Ive seen, the person just goes up to enemy and bangs him with what he got, standing still most of the time. Usual mmo players >_>. Thief is very different type, with a lot more action involved. This guy actually uses dodging and different combos to avoid getting hit. (that's what thief is best for)

No matter where I look, I always find videos in which the thief seems to suck heavily in melee. Can anyone please tell me that the whole thief melee gameplay won't consist of doing a 100 damage blow, then being forced to dodge backwards because of low armor/health?
First of all, it's not max lvl, it's around 45-55. Second: Since it all depends on the weapons you use, and this is just a demo it's not sure he can use the best skills available. Third: It's a demo, probably one of the first times he's playing it. Everyone suck when they start at a new game.

@TakeOnNE1 You're one of the few I've seen around that still talk about Tera with a good head on your shoulders. But here's a problem, all of the things you said Tera has over this game are things that this game has as well.
Gw2 has dynamic events, altering cutscenes depending on character's story, 60 feature films worth of voice acting, music from Jeremy Soule, dodge, kick, punch, swim, throw, server vs server pvp, targetting is all positional rather than "target lock-on" based, B2P, etc.

@Kingpenguin9696 Yes actually. It has been said that the game has it's own time running so you'll likely see the day and night I think possibly a little faster than real time. Also the weather in the game is entirely controllable, so the people at ArenaNet can make it rain or whatever else at any time they like.

@jleack well luckily this game will be nothing like GW1 except for 1 detail. and that it will have a console feel to it. so unlike wow or something similar where you are forced to nothing but group and anything solo is rather boring this game will actually have a rpg side game kind of dragon age, oblivion, etc to go along with the mmo side of the game. at least thats what i understood from some of the videos where the game developers talk about it.

@EdenEpic Guildwars 1 was the kind of game that everyone has a horrible first impression on it.. You have to play a while to enjoy the lvl 20 cap. No grinding, Only 8 skills at a time means lots of technique. GW1 was awesome and GW2 will also be awesome

Wish it was shot in HD because this is some of the best gameplay to date. Shows us what the Thief is truly capable of... Kiting, extremely fast-paced combat & terrain abusing is my kind of style.
I wonder if GW2 will do well in Korea? I mean Tera is offering something similar; with it's style of combat and high skill requirement for PvP but I wonder if it's lack of a sub fee will entice those players from WoW, Aion & Tera.

But that's the thing. TERA, while very pleasing to the eye, presents itself to me as just that. Eye candy. Until TERA presents itself more than just Eye Candy, until they give it's races and environment, and the world itself life, then I'll give it another look.

@Kingpenguin9696 Yes actually. It has been said that the game has it's own time running so you'll likely see the day and night I think possibly a little faster than real time. Also the weather in the game is entirely controllable, so the people at ArenaNet can make it rain or whatever else at any time they like.

@bibilica08 Yes it depends on events as well, but they have said in a demo gameplay video that they are able to change it at anytime they wish as well.

I just hope we will see a release date this year... and I do believe in another video, once Betas start coming out, then we will start talking about release dates... and i do believe they are starting to set up a beta in the summer.... So i can only hope!!!

@jleack well luckily this game will be nothing like GW1 except for 1 detail. and that it will have a console feel to it. so unlike wow or something similar where you are forced to nothing but group and anything solo is rather boring this game will actually have a rpg side game kind of dragon age, oblivion, etc to go along with the mmo side of the game. at least thats what i understood from some of the videos where the game developers talk about it.

@jleack Yeah dude, I hated Guild Wars, the game was a piece of shit in my opinion. So I'm on the same boat as you. But I've seen so many videos and read so much info that this game is gonna be nothing like Guild Wars 1. Thank GOD.

@EdenEpic Guildwars 1 was the kind of game that everyone has a horrible first impression on it.. You have to play a while to enjoy the lvl 20 cap. No grinding, Only 8 skills at a time means lots of technique. GW1 was awesome and GW2 will also be awesome

Wish it was shot in HD because this is some of the best gameplay to date. Shows us what the Thief is truly capable of... Kiting, extremely fast-paced combat & terrain abusing is my kind of style.
I wonder if GW2 will do well in Korea? I mean Tera is offering something similar; with it's style of combat and high skill requirement for PvP but I wonder if it's lack of a sub fee will entice those players from WoW, Aion & Tera.

Wow! Who ever is playing that Thief really knows what they are doing. Its seems that he/she has the hang of it! I would hate to fight this person in PvP! Especially if they know the mechanics this well already! Imagine if you gave him/her the skill traits and elites!
