Gosh, I admire her dedication to her craft! Even as sick as she was here, she still sang the hell out of it live, the very best she could. Other artists would have just played the track, backed out of the performance, or not even bothered to show up; the consequences be damned! Watching this vid though, brings out the mother in me. I just want to take her home, tuck her into bed, and give her a bowl of hot chicken soup.

kelly is great! she has struggled with vocal chord noguls for years people! if you don't know what that is look it up, it makes it hurt when you talk and especially when you sing! i have heard kelly live in concert and let me tell you this girl can out sing anyone. she is by far my favorite singer, and i know what i am talking about with the vocal chord noguls b/c i am a singer and i had to have surgery to have them removed and i couldn't talk for almost 6 months b4 i had surgery. you go kelly!
No I've seen many Kelly clarkson performances on you tube go watch how many times she has trouble hitting her notes.. type in Kelly clarkson - sober(live). Even in this performance she is strainging, your a fan so you wont judge honestly.

it was a half time charity event, she did it for free, she didn't want no-bodys money, and at least people got to see her live, unlike other people who would lip sinc! I would rather here people sing crapy live then listen to their CD while they lip sinc around to it!
First of all, she was sick. Second, it WAS a half time charity event, and she never lip syncs, she's an original, unlike all those shit singers like Nicole Schreizinger who ALWAYS sounds sick live, or *shudders Kanye West trying to rap live.. it sounds terrible.. go on American Idol Kanye West season 8.. he sings live there, and he SUCKS.

This was a bad performance, and it was probably the weather. She had tons of guts to belt out in the middle of the performance even though her voice was being effected.
Why does all the negative stuff happen at the SuperBowls? Janet Jackson's wardrobe malfunction.. Ashlee Simpson's "LaLa" booing.. Kelly being sick.. I feel bad. But she does have an AMAZING voice, I dont think anyone can argue that.
She sounds sick... Plus it was freezing cold that day (one of the coldest thanksgivings i've ever had - I live about a half hour away from the stadium). Cold weather has a really bad effect on your voice and lungs as well.
I personally really am not a fan of hers. Her first album was okay, but shes alright I guess. I honestly believe it was a mix of her being sick and the acoustics there are supposed to be horrible--which has thrown several performers off in the past. I saw her the next night at her Dallas concert and she sounded MUCH better.

This was a bad performance, and it was probably the weather. She had tons of guts to belt out in the middle of the performance even though her voice was being effected.

She sounds sick... Plus it was freezing cold that day (one of the coldest thanksgivings i've ever had - I live about a half hour away from the stadium). Cold weather has a really bad effect on your voice and lungs as well.

She was on tour during this with no breaks. She had a show just 2 nights prior and it was raining here. She also did a concert the next day.

I personally really am not a fan of hers. Her first album was okay, but shes alright I guess. Even though this performance was HORRIBLE she still sang it better than most people, and obviously had some kinda sickness that was affecting her voice because normally she belts out a song perfectly like its nobody's buisness. She obviously can sing being the winner of American idol.

ok i was on the field the whole time when she was singing. i was holding the last purple banner during since you been gone, and it was so fucking cold, i could barely talk. i was chattering my teeth the whole time. now what do u think kelly was doing. she was so fucking cold, thats why she sounds shaky, because she was probably freezing. so shut the hell up u people that think she sucks. i dont care for hre much, but she auctually can sing.

I wish artist would really stick to the original when they perform live without all of the addlibs and whatnot. Because it's really hard to adlib live because you mess up and if you are sick please announce to the audience that you are so that we don't have a surprise horrible performance like this one here. She sounded like shit. I love Kelly, but this is absolutely dreadful. She cracked on every other note, it was raspy as all get out and she couldn't reach anything.

I honestly believe it was a mix of her being sick and the acoustics there are supposed to be horrible--which has thrown several performers off in the past. I saw her the next night at her Dallas concert and she sounded MUCH better.

what you guys have to remeber is that Kelly had done just about a month and a half of touring with very little breaks during the tour and i think its a incredible that she can even talk

So what ?? It's one time. She was tired and over rehearsed. Next day (in concert) in Dallas her voice was AMAZING. Just because for once her voice wasn't good, it doesn't mean that she can't sing so shut up !

kelly is doing one hell of a awesome tour right now! and the fact that she really wanted to do this performance means alot to her fans,like me! she gets a month off then her and reba get togetherto tour!and just yeah the weather had a factor in it but on her tour she is CRYSTAL CLEAR and we know she worked hard to do this performace for the salvation army and everyone else just everyone calm down here.

Look, that was not good obviously. She sounded congested and her throat was probably in such pain, yet she got up there and did it! Didn't try to pull some Ashlee Simpson and fake it. She stayed true to who she was the whole time. No it was not a good vocal but she's still Kelly Clarkson and she will still be the greatest female vocalist of today.
