Ahhh no. You have to actually apply as an immigrant. You are from USA and therefore still a foreigner. There is no guarantee you'll get in unless you have a skill or a higher form of education. It would help if you had a trade like an electrician or plumber since there is a huge lack of trades people up here. You'll make an excellent living up here if you're a trades person.

I live on Kaien Island on the west coast. We get rained on alot but the air is fresh. We have lots of wildlife in the area, eagles, whales, wolves, deer - everything but the whales run about in our backyards. The best thing about living here is that we get tons of visitors each year. One thing that needs to be cleared up, is the point about Canada being very cold.
You might wanna adjust your comment there.
Canada has four season.
Spring: 15 to 20 degrees
Summer: 25 to 30(humidity rates are very high in Montreal, Toronto, Quebec and Ottawa, so 30 will often feel like 35)
Autumn or Fall: 20 to 10
Winter: -10 to -30

People who make 50 cents an hour in the 3rd world are not going to start demanding wage increases when they arrive in Canada. Canadian citizen's know what their labour is worth and won't budge any further. The Canadian Government has to wake up to the facts, and start doing the things necessary to bring Canada back on the road of success. We cannot survive off $10/hour anymore with this crazy inflation not being kept up with, time for immigration reform, even with Bill C-20, more reforms!

i have dual citizenship in canada and the US, i love both countries, but canada has some of the most polite people in the world(except at hockey games) good economy, very tolerant, cleaner cities than the US, you can make more money in the US if you are one of the top 1%, but for most people canada is a much nicer place, plus the rest of the world doesnt hate canada. ill give up my pistol, im movin back to Alberta

as many immigrants there are in Canada now its cant be worse than the USA Asians,Latinos (big issue),blacks straight from Africa now mixed populations are fine but there should be equal everybody and everything... Now i praise Canada for not having a lot of the racial issues U.S does personally i think there will always be racism against whites from blacks and in return racism from whites against blacks... I see this country going downhill and refuse to raise my future kids in this society!

Canada is so cold.. beautiful country, nice people, great environment but just so so cold, even in toronto, blizzards snow storms come every year..
also, asians are flooded in toronto and vancouver..

it's not legal, it has been decriminalized before, but for the most part you can just smoke it and will not get in trouble. In the states you can face serious jail time with charges of possession, god forbid trafficking. Whereas i have had a conversation with cops while smoking joint before, haha

People who complain about excessive immigration are not racists, they are simply patriotic Canadian citizens who have a deep concern for the future of our country, and the problems which excessive immigration can have on our quality of life. Many immigrants are wonderful people, but our governments desire to flood the country with such large numbers is destroying our quality of life.

passionwagon, canada is a wonderful nation. toronto is the most diverse city on earth. we still have british ties however so you may feel somewhat at home (you get to gaze at the queen on the money) heh... it is also very very safe. i'm a young woman and i walk home at night in downtown toronto at 4 am all the time. never had a problem. don't know anyone who was ever robbed. vancouver is beautiful. toronto is great. montreal is magical. please come to canada. i'll show you around :)

You could by a beautiful home for that much! Depending on where you live, the cities are more expensive (like everywhere). You sound like you would be a qualified immigrant no problem! sure the video sound great, but if u come here ur gonna need job experience if not ur not get'n the pay u want, tax is higher here though, beer & cigarets cost more but u get a decent medicare but u pay 4 ur own med's unless u hav coverage, ppl r ok, if u move ne where move 2 southern Ontario & or Montreal area, there's more 2 do but ne where els is just as fine(im not hating on ne other provinces)

I think Canada is the real symbol of the 'open arms' policy of multiculture. Blacks, whites, natives, asians, anyone is welcome and they hold up to their promise. In the USA they pretend to be open to cutures but are rather biggoted in the USA. They lie and say "we are not racist" and most Americans are racist. But in Canada they are far more educated about this subject. Canada is a very open minded friendly country! :)

Ahhh no. You have to actually apply as an immigrant. You are from USA and therefore still a foreigner. There is no guarantee you'll get in unless you have a skill or a higher form of education. It would help if you had a trade like an electrician or plumber since there is a huge lack of trades people up here. You'll make an excellent living up here if you're a trades person.

I live on Kaien Island on the west coast. We get rained on alot but the air is fresh. We have lots of wildlife in the area, eagles, whales, wolves, deer - everything but the whales run about in our backyards. The best thing about living here is that we get tons of visitors each year. So the world comes to our doorstep. I'm waiting for my yummmie Amsterdam treat to visit. Ik hou van jou, mmmy Mmmichael!!! I love you!!!

i have been in US and got my RN degree here because of messed up US immigration law i cannot stay here much longer. I want to move to Canada and get treated like anyone else.
