@JDrockerDUDE The back up guy is Jason White, a band friend. He became their touring guitarist in 2000 after Warning was released. Billie still writes the guitar parts, White just plays them. He needs to because Billie is too busy running around and working the crowd to actually play well. So he takes the rhythm guitar part.

You don't seem to know what you're talking about. They made a political album at a time when people were being taken off of radio playlists for being political (i.e. the dixie chicks). People argue that others were doing it, but Green Day were one of the only 'mainstream' bands to do so. If they truly cared only for money, they wouldn't have stuck their necks out with that album. Besides, Green Day were never hardcore punks...they actually make GOOD music. The sex pistols can blow me.
