About a month ago my brother and i was heading home from looking at garages sale when we were heading down a street coming up on a T intersection. This lady driving a Lexus runs the stop sign and turns right almost hittting the passenger side of my truck. I was born and lived in Australia for 12 years and when I moved to America I immediately noticed some things... 1. Asshole drivers who refuse to let you onto a highway. 2. Cars driving all over the road have people: eating, texting, or putting on makeup without hands on the wheel. 3. In some cases, people flee from an accident. 4. At stop lights people tend to go full speed and stop at the last second, giving you no indication if they're paying attention or not. so American drivers suck.

At a stop light look at escape route just in case that idiot behind you doesn't look like they're going to stop. Yes.. What I do is try to be off center in my lane when preparing for a stop.. I think it's a more realistic method of preventing a rear-end collision.. Not to mention that you don't want to shoot out into a busy intersection because the car nehind you isn't slowing in your rear view.. But you're right that it is up to us to be extra alert.. Never assume that someone is going to stop or go for a red or green light, every intersection is a danger zone.

This is a very tragic story and this shows how there needs to be stricter laws for drivers on the road. Any distraction while driving can cause an accident, but painting your nails is a complete disregard for anyone's safety. Such an activity takes away your focus from the road ahead for seconds at a time. The offender should have her drivers license revoked for life and should spend some time behind bars.

Anita stopped for the red light, but (for her) it never turned green.

Almost the exact same thing happened to me, and the ignorant woman who rear-ended me said "I DIDN'T SEE THE MOTORCYCLE" as I laid on the ground under her mini-van. There are NO 'fender-benders" when you hit a motorcycle (Anita reportedly flew over 200 feet from the impact). This incident was avoidable, and a good woman is DEAD because another selfish woman chose looking pretty over driving safely.
