  • Nice

  • Wasn't 267 the one that burned up a few months ago?

If it was, I guess they got it back in service

  • that was 257. 257 is being scrapped/

  • @ns3010 257 was the one that burned up, its retired

  • Was 269 still paired w9ith 268 when you shot that video?

  • The easiest way to tell is the IIIs have squarish windows while the IIs have the more ovalish ones.

  • Great video! How do you tell the difference between a Silverliner II and III?

  • Anyone else can feel free to amend or correct this answer, but I THINK the IIs have a slighly more pronounced curvature to the roof than the IIIs. Example: the train starting at 1:50, I think the two end cars are IIs and the middle one is a III.

  • Yeah, I'm starting to notice that too. Thanks!:D

  • @GenesisSanctuary

Also, the IIs have that little boxy thing above the windows, the thing where 269 says "PENNSYLVANIA"

    The IIIs don't have that

  • @ns3010 thats cuz the III's are Reading Cars

  • @howardkevinm, the III's are ex-PRR built by St. Louis Car Company.

  • One of the last times (I think) we'll ever see these.... :( -favs-
