Recently my girl and I were walking home for lunch and an old friend of hers walked up to us and introduced herself and then she said that I'm really cool even though I dress like a man. I'm still trying to get comfortable with my gender ID but that shit really hurt. It's just not cool how everyone expects that just because you have a vagina you have to stuff yourself into the same box as everyone else.
I think that it's important to fight these ideals which women are supposed to live up to, through how we treat our sisters and brothers, through how we conduct our own language and behaviour and through supporting people that are outspoken... I'm tempted to even start my own videos.
Growing up, I looked like a boy and was overweight and I got a lot of stick for it. I had a curved spine too... This made school very hard for me. It also helped me see the world from a different angle, define my own notions of beauty in later life... I live in the UK and like anywhere, you rarely see plus size women on TV (apart from in comedy) and you rarely see women who are 'butch'.

From 3rd to 8th grade was my awkward phase. I was chunky, light bright almost white and was categorized as white girl. Girls and boys made fun of me because I had lighter skin. I never understood why. Well they continued to bully me and call my fam "crackers ". When in reality they weren't. In 9th grade my waist slimmed down and the Summer gave me a tan. I was always a bit girly looking, and had pretty long hair through high school. In my last year a douche in my class actually attacked me with scissors and cut huge chunks out of my hair because he was bored and I was apparently the class joke at that point.
Later on I realised that I wasn't ugly. It took a lot to come to terms with the way I looked, and even though I still have some body issues (I am never going to have abs lol) I'm no longer depressed.

All my life i've been bullied about the way i look and i have also been physically bullied (punched mostly). People don't understand that i have been though alot in my life. I've had a hard life, people don't understand, i've been though stuff most people cant even imagen.
But now i feel like i'm helping people, i work for a charity helping people with eating disorders and i help with a anti-bullying thing at my school. I feel happy with myself now!

From 3rd to 8th grade was my awkward phase. I was chunky, light bright almost white and was categorized as white girl. Girls and boys made fun of me because I had lighter skin. I never understood why. Well they continued to bully me and call my fam "crackers ". When in reality they weren't. In 9th grade my waist slimmed down and the Summer gave me a tan. Now I'm "thick" and far away from chunky. All those kids from elementary and middle school can eat their hearts out. :)

when i was really young like 7 and i was in girl scouts. i was the only dark black girl there, and none of the girls would play with me. the main girl in charge of the other little girls was part white and part mexican. she decided that no one would play with the dark kids. there was a girl who was part black, bt since she looked white she was accepted. i only learned they were racist when i heard the main girl talk about how ugly her mother's skin tone was.

when i hit 6th grade i got really chunck and my Mom told me i need to go on a diet like ALL the time!! I hated it and when I grow up I was always around my cousin and she just happend to be super skinny and tall. Everyone told her she should model and all the guys talked to her I HATED IT. Thanks so much for doing a video like this!I think it's super important that the queer community addresses queers in the media and queer shows.I think that even gay shows don't really represent the queer community. I know I'm pretty now but I didn't always know. I used to be told I was ugly because Im pretty. I have a kidney problem that keeps me from gaining weight so girls would be jealous of me and tear my self esteem down...what those girls didn't realize is that its just as hard to gain weight when you can't as it is to lose weight. Either way, it was towards the beginning of the year and I was sitting with the only three people I knew in the lunch room, and their friends joined us at the table. I was always a bit girly looking, and had pretty long hair through high school. In my last year a douche in my class actually attacked me with scissors and cut huge chunks out of my hair because he was bored and I was apparently the class joke at that point.
Later on I realised that I wasn't ugly. It took a lot to come to terms with the way I looked, and even though I still have some body issues (I am never going to have abs lol) I'm no longer depressed.

We in Puerto Rico just got hit by hurricane Irene bad. It did allot of damage. I just got the electricity back on last night. You will be ok but you really need to keep track of where it is and be prepared with lots of food, water, batteries and candles just in case the power go out in your area as well. Take care hart.
