Quick tip for anyone doing this look for all the fun Halloween weekend parties-the jade green color she uses from Ben Nye can be duped using Cover Girl's Aqua Paradise eyeshadow! I'm recreating this look for my costume and I used the Coastal Scents 88 Pallette and the green and white shadows from Cover Girl! I'm so excited to upload a video of my interpretation on this look soon! I was totally inspired by this look and created my Wicked Witch of the West look around it.

@derekdb2 Actually Halloween costumes were worn around 31st October as the veil between the worlds of the living and the dead are at it's thinnest, so spirits are able to walk among us. People would dress as scary as possible so they would blend in and be mistaken by spirits for one of their own and wouldn't be in danger. Jack-o-lanterns were originally turnips and when carved with scary faces they were put in front of the house to scare away evil spirits.

Halloween did not originate from paganism. It originated from All Souls' Day, which is a religious christian holiday, and All Saints' Day (a christian holiday). Some of the activities we've taken to custom on Halloween arose from the associated holiday Samhain, which marked the end of the harvest. More interesting, churches often have Harvest Festivals around Halloween claiming to not celebrate Halloween when, in fact, they are holding a festival associated with Samhain.
