  • Love all early Ultravox! stuff. . ta for uploading it. John Foxx is GOD!!

  • hmm, i wonder, where can i find this song? on cd. Vinyl? and so on.. =)

  • I have the 3 (1st generation) Ultravox albums on vinyl, as well as the majority of the 2nd generation (before they became too pathetic/boring). Recently "upgrated" to CD for the Foxx-era material. FOXXATED!! What a pleasure to hear these brilliant songs. WAY AHEAD OF THEIR TIME, and such a major influence on modern music (yet, very under-credited/underappreciated ). THere's something magical about this band.

  • john foxx is Ultravox ! WHO was after that some scots bloke who came from a band simmilar sounding to the bay city rollers then called themselves ultravox and even rehashed Johns great work and put their names to it !Even Billy C. attempted to call himself( with a female singer ultravox) talk about living off of the backs of others !

  • this is ultravox after 1st album before ha ha ha.they dropped these songs for ha ha ha as not as good.i think they made the right decision.

  • This is from the German TV show Rockpop 1976 some suggest it was in fact 1978 but I'm not certain now.

  • Great film. Clo .... respect to your father Stevie Shears !

  • Tiger Lily things I believe!

  • By the way CLO please wish your dad a very happy birthday from me (just looked through my old record collection) great memories as I bought every Ultravox single back then) Is the single Modern Love/Quirks rare od for that matter any of the early stuff?

  • I've got most of the old Ultravox stuff never heard this before thanks

  • hi, my father is stevie shears the original guitarist in ultravox, its his birthday on tuesday and id really love to get a copy of these early recordings for him. he would love to see them, is there any way i can get hold of them???

  • Doesn't your father these songs? I'm also searching for more ultravox! songs. But i believed every ultravox members have these recordings, live performances, videos. I also know he formed a band called Faith Global.

  • Hi Clo... Do You know your dad is a legendary guitarist and a genius? He invented a style later copied by many guitarists. I respect him very much! he is simply fantastic. Fans of u2 please take note, and kneel down to the guy who inveted your favourite style. Steve Shears rules cause HE INVENTED IT ALL!

Clo, Does he still play? Please let me know...

    Thanks

    Hugs to you and him

  • Hey Clo I knew John Foxx in the late 80's i asked him what happened to Stevie and he just said " he wandered off one day when we were in Germany and never came back " What's the real story ? always loved his guitar sytle big influence

    cheers j

  • Hey clo - please tell steve he was just awesome - love that guitar sound and style - why did he leave?

  • @clo210589 Hi friend, please say to your father that for me he is an idol. I can't find the words to explain what Ultravox mean for me, since when I was a child.

  • this is awsome, does anyone know if this was recorded on LP,single etc??????????????

  • in this song and in Dangerous Rhythm there are sound that seemed to influence The Police. Do you have any video of Faith Global, the band formed Stevie Shears the original guitarist of Ultravox!

  • Was this before or after the Tiger Lilly thing?

  • After &:)

  • . It came from a film taken at the Reading Festival back in about 1975 or 1976.

  • isn't tv orphan called "i can feel the fear in the western world " from there ha! ha! ha! lp i cannot hear it as there is no sound card in the computer iam using

  • i have seen this video a few times.top draw stuff keep them on line.cheers.

  • Amazing stuff. This and TV Orphan are about as rare as it gets because they were both songs that were demoed in preparation for the debut album but never released. Steve Lillywhite used to let them into Phonogram studios where he was a tape op after hours when everyone else had gone home to record for free!

I'd love a double CD compilation one day of all the rare and unreleased stuff from both the Foxx and Ure eras.

  • Thanks for posting...great clip.

  • Thank you so much for that. WOW. Yeah I thought i knew all john foxx/ultravox stuff and then suddenly this. Not bad at all.

  • Bloody hell, thought i had all ultravox stuff, never heard of this before!

  • Ditto...I met John Foxx once when I worked in Hifi shop in London in about 87' I was so in awe I never spoke!!

  • Oh my god that is so rare, just a shame the quality wasn`t better. Thanx for that x
