He just did not violate anyone's first amendment rights. No one is obliged to talk to anyone else under first amendment rights. He doesn't want to talk to you? That's his rights.
Someone can say that they don't want their conversation taped, no matter where they are, especially when they are speaking privately to a single person.
Hey Billy Wharton. How are you doing? You must think that you've got some pair of balls taking on Joe Crowley like that. The fact is you never worked a day in your life, so how exactly do you represent the working man? Your wife worked and fed your fat bald head while you wasted years in school. Nice how you repayed her, you lowlife. Your socialist agenda is about as popular as NAMBLA's. Go join the black panthers or nation of islam because you failed at being a responsible white man.
This clown has been taking up space in district 7 since the year of the flood - he's exactly what's wrong with our so-called reps - let's unseat his ample butt
What a lame ass politician! Its a stupid idea. Private meetings with individual constituents? I can understand him trying to avoid the circuses of other townhall meetings, but this was just idiotic. What was wrong with recording the conversation? He's a moron!
@human3485bil nothing wrong with the conversation, the intent of this meeting was to have one-on-one conversations with the constituents without the media, it was a way for the individual to speak with their representative. This guy, as stated in the description "...I asked that my meeting be videotaped by a blogger from Daily KOS..." was not following what was supposed to happen that day. So Rep. Crowley was correct and didn't violate anyone's first amendment rights
I will go slowly for you. A public official set up a chair and a table in a public park. He then declared the 1st amendment null and void. He infringed on the right of the press to operate freely. This is a no-brainer. Slow enough?
I challenge you to show me where he declared the 1st Amendment null and void. Requesting that you not record your conversation with him does not void the 1st Amendment. Watch the video that you so cleverly took and show me. Cameras and recordings devices have zero to do with the 1st Amendment. Now I am slow huh? Your replies are becoming more personal instead of factual. If you want to stick to your original rant, lets do it. Want to get personal? I won't bite. Who's slow now.
Oh boy. Even slower. The 1st amendment prohibits the government from infringing on the rights of the press. Joseph Crowley is a public official elected to the House of Representatives. He set up a chair and desk in a public park, declared the space "his office" and banned the press from operating. Banning the press is a violation of the 1st amendment. He also limited my free speech by not allowing me to project my message to the media. How different ways do I need to explain this?
The media was banned at a public meeting. In fact, the member of the press who wanted to accompany me was specifically banned. What is this guy afraid of? Perhaps the $5,000 he took from Pfizer? Or, the $5,000 from Blue Cross/Blue Shield? Or was it the $5,000 from Abbott Technologies?
You screech about having your First Amendment rights denied. That was absolutely false. You could have spoken and would have been listened too. Now as you normally do, you totally change the subject when confronted with the facts. Cry like a baby if you want, too, but get your facts straight.
Democratic party apologists like you are the greatest resource the private health insurance companies have. I hope Crowley shares some of his campaign contributions with you. At least you would have some financial motivation for your slavishness.
Democratic Party apologist? Man you are barking up the wrong tree. Labeling? Name calling? Insinuations? Sounds like you are the one using these tactics, not me. If you want to stick to the subject, I would be happy to, but it seems like you would rather get personal.
Joe Crowley is a class act and pure gentlemen. He shows great restraint by not beating the crap out of this Wharton lady.
