I saw Mitch in Beatlemania at the Shubert Theater in Chicago, I believe, '78? Yeah, I was a weird kid that loved music when all of my other friends were playing with Tinker Toys. I remember that night so distinctly. When Mitch sat on the edge of the stage and played Yesterday, it was riveting.
At the Shubert? You know, another thing I remember was what the announced said right before the show started. I was only 9 years old or so, but I remember thinking it was hilarious that he said "No smoking. ANYTHING."
It's a shame that Bob McAllister was fired because of creative differences. Unfortuately, he's no longer with us but he was a great host who would have been the perfect replacement for Bob Barker on The Price is Right.
Bob McAllister was indeed a very good host and didn't sound like he was talking down to the kids. His replacement, Michael Young, came across as wimpy in comparison. When Michael left in 1981, Randy Hamilton (at the time a lead actor on the soap opera TEXAS) took over and was a much better host. Don't know why Bob's run was so short-lived.
I saw Mitch in "Beatlemania" in NYC many MANY years ago and sat in the front row. He came and sat down on the stage right in front of me and sang this song. What a cutie!
I remember Wonderama, Just for Fun, Sonny Fox, etc. Mitch is one of the closest Macca's ever in talent and spirit! Thanks Jamie for this one! Thanks Mitch for the nostalgia!
only 25??? how depressing for me! but, it's really cool, even then I couldn't wake up early enough to watch kids shows, but I certainly remember him being on here.
Good gosh golly I remember when this aired!!! Very cool. Mitch and the other Beatlemania performers were living the life us middle -school kids just starting in music could only dream of living. Pretty darn cool!
mitch weissman and gary gibson would be a good lennon/mccartney

I thought Kids are People Too aired on Sunday mornings?

I disagree..Mr.Hamilton was a good singer
..but a lousey interviewer and he had a better
rapport with adults than with kids.

Dear GoodsonTodman, The reason that Bob McAllister left"KAPT!"..was
because..he was not given the crreative freedom to
do the show his way.
