  • 55 dislikes - it's Dave Mustaine?

  • chris brotheric once drove to chuck norris' house. chuck opened the window.

chris said: i would like a portion of medium fries and a diët coke.

  • he plays it so slow!

  • words cannot describe how awesome this is

  • I bet he could play Eruption on a first graders coffee can guitar

  • fucking

    PERFECT

  • jesus christ monkeyballs, my eyes are melting

  • this is amazing, i wish there were more videos up of him playing classical pieces

  • Chris is the best. He can play any type of music on guitar and however many other instruments he plays! He's a genius

  • i wish i could play like him... for my auditions in the conservatory :( and play metal guitar at night with megadeth...like he does... :( damn

  • 55 people should be shot

  • Kirk hammet sucks giant cock at playing guitar. As a matter of fact, he isn't a guitarist. He's a wah pedalist. His guitar is only used to make the wah make noise

  • @KaldDodeGitarist bwhahahaha

  • @KaldDodeGitarist if you'd say something like that pre 1996 I would come to your house and break your nose... unfortunately you're 100% correct if u look at what kirk has been playing since 96'....

  • Your vid went viral on Laos

  • Its true to say there has been some great guitarist in the past, but if it wasn't for guys like chris the art of shredding would be just that.. in the past. keep up the good work chris, you rock!

  • I know Im gonna get a tonne of people shitting on me for saying this. But this isn't such a great performance of this piece.

  • Kirk Hammet is nothing compared to Chris Broderick. This dude is for real!

  • @jeffreydipper8 what the fuck does hammet have to do with this video?

  • @jeffreydipper8 kirk is also ten years older and layed the path for chris with metal soloing. music like anthiing progresses. tony hawk today probably wouldnt even be good enough to go pro, but we dont shit on hime because hes not as good as p rod. in 1981 nobody was shredding like kirk was

  • @liveandletrock864 Lol dave mustaine and marty friedman, That's pretty ignorant to think when Jimmy Hendrix played 20 years before that.

  • @liveandletrock864 Sorry man, but LOADS of people were shredding in 81' Yngwie Malmsteen, George Lynch, Randy Rhoads, Marty Friedman, Jason Becker, Dave Murray, Adrian Smith, im gonna stop there, to prevent further embarassment for you. Let's just go with Kirk Hammet was the only guitar player you've heard of that was shredding in 81', certainly not the only one, and certainly not the best.

  • @ThemidnightbellTV toushe my friend

  • Where did 1:06 go?

  • HOLY SANTA CLAUSE SHIT!!!!!!!

  • O_o WoW

  • It's not fair to have that sort of right hand technique and then play for an awesome metal band. WHY IS LIFE SO UNFAIR!

  • @blopido :( indeed

  • This part isn't that hard, but everything after this is absolutely insane. I'd recommend searching it up on Youtube before you praise him.

  • @TheArchitechnology i don't belive this is the WHOLE video of him playing, the cam stops beforehe did. aswell most kids today dont have the patience to listen to the other 15mins of the song ;)

  • Fucking hell. Where do these people come from? I used to think that Eddie and Randy were where it's at. Today's musicians can play Eruption and Dee with their butt cheeks. This dude is clearly not from this planet.

  • @azimuth361 hahahah can i quote you on that? thats just too good hahahahah

  • @AnthonytheTBaggers Feel free, amigo.

  • I'm a classical guitarist and I'm very impressed, he plays very well to be a metal guitarist. He has a good classical technique too, not as excellent as other guitarist (classical players, obviusly), and some details about the sound of his right hand, but I'm very very impressed. You can listen to Manuel Barrueco's interpretation of this suite, it's amazing!

  • i believe that him and alexi laiho should play some classical together

  • @UseUrHead503 if laiho wanted to be embarrassed, sure.

  • Comment removed

  • nice! this guy can tap like nobodies busines, shred, and play classical? hell yeah.

  • @NixxerJixxerWixxer A question for you, have you not heard How The Story Ends solo? And playing good solos doesn't make you a better guitarist.

  • @BaptisedInAsh Do you remember the song and where they played it? I want to find the video.

  • i wish i had been classically trained on guitar

sadly, i could never afford it as a kid

  • I must admit that I had no idea who Crhis was before he joined Megadeth and being a huge Marty fan I had the feeling he couldn't fit in his shoes. And I was right. He's not Marty and it was stupid to expect him to be. In time I have come to appreciate what a great musician he is. They have different styles, they're both awesome. It's not like one is better than the other. You may like one more than the other, but that's different. Open up and enjoy the music, they're both awesome musicians

  • Any brazilians here? This sounds so much like chorinho.

Algum brasileiro aqui? Parece muito com chorinho, só por o pandeiro no fundo, haha.

  • a lot of people are saying marty is better and i must disagree chris is open to many different styles and has more styles and technique and his solos are memorable maybe there just to complicated for you he is very educated and stable in megadeth and i think he is exactly were he belongs besides when they play live he nails all of his parts perfectly even the solos

  • @idate6 I actually seen him jack a note up in a shred section about a year or so ago when they played with Testament and Exodus. 95% or the audience didn't notice, but Dave shot him an evil glare XD

  • A question here Chris, If You're truly better than Marty, why haven't you written memorable solos yet? unless you're STILL living under his shadow

  • Bach is saying "I wrote this genius?"

  • He is good but Marty always wins. Chris is more technical but Marty's solos are much warmer, melodically better and more feel.

  • @SpearShark That's probably because Chris is just going through the motions with Megadeth, Marty felt like it was something closer.

  • I can play that too :D

  • that a complete guitar player

  • nice piece, but come on fellow metal heads, just cause you really like a guys playing doesnt mean he is the best, there are 12 year old asian kids who can plat cicrlces around chris, just be wary that you are not adding your personal bias to your evaluation of musical skill

  • @metalheadSAZ people might as well just be asking who'd they'd let sleep with their girlfriend haha

  • @AnthonytheTBaggers ha thats hilarious, oh man, im really laughing serious

  • some people are born to play guitar...the guitar was born for Chris to be played \m/

  • すげーな

  • Mustaine will fire him anyways, like everyone else before him :)

  • @bluepl Actually, Friedman left the band, Mustaine didn't fire him.

  • one of the best players alive

  • muy talentoso para estar en Megadeth Finlandia te necesita Chris

  • Bach is rolling over his grave trying to hide the boner Chris just gave him.

  • @valdivia562 im sorry, i have to say it. that was the funniest comment ive ever read.

  • If Bach was suddenly resurrected, guitarists like Chris would be the only thing that kept him from not killing himself due to the modern music scene

  • @Swedguy97 dont forget paul gilbert :D

  • where's the rest of it?

  • for all you ppl dissing, remember:

1st: you probably can't do it better yourself

2nd: he's a METAL guitarist, for crying out loud! now go ask all those 'classical guitar gurus' to play metal and watch their fingers crumble and fall

  • Where can I found the sheet music for this song?

  • Why Mustaine don't show that on a concert? ._. WTF

  • chris broderick didnt audition for megadeth, megadeth audtioned for chris

  • @thomizzskate no joke, shawn showed dave a video and dave immeadeately wanted chris in megadeth

  • @thomizzskate Actually... yeah, that's how it happened. I believe Shawn showed Dave a video, they went to see him play, and then told him that they wanted him in their band, and would he please join?

  • @thomizzskate lol.... megadeth dint even call him for audition it seems... mustaine fell in love with broderick's guitaring when he first heard him playing itself...

  • Swag as fuck

  • wow

  • yeaa

  • broderick is really amazing in heavy metal solos, not so good in classical music.

  • @sin1982cl On what planet is the latter part of what you said true?

  • @PaDGuitars i am a classical guitar student so i know what im talking about, he play bach with no dinamycs, and also he does a lot of mistakes, also in my experience this doesnt sounds like bach, its sounds like a robot trying to play in a classical guitar. try /watch?v=spUT-2tU2Yk i hope you notice the huge difference on how bach must be played.

  • @sin1982cl Well he must play it well. He has a degree in Guitar Performance

  • @sin1982cl I agree! Nonetheless, mr Broderick does an OK job for actually being a fulltime metal guitarist.

  • @sin1982cl If you're a classical student, then you should know that Bach never annotated any dynamics in his works. Therefore any dynamics put into his works are individual and optional. That's why it's called an "interpretation." I personally prefer his mechanic way over the other off-tempo interpretations of this Gigue Double.

If Broderick did any "mistakes", it's not due to any flaws in his technique. He hit every note he played well (except 1:00).

  • @Zimx02 who are the best bach players on any instruments? they all use dynamics, bach's Harpsichord pieces are the only ones that doesnt have dynamics , only for the instruments limitations, but cello, lute and all others, should have dynamics, always.

  • @sin1982cl They may all use dynamics, but those dynamics are all exclusive to themselves, and do not belong to Bach. The inclusion of dynamics has nothing to do with Bach. Again, all interpretations are personal for any instrument.

Besides, this is just the double of the gigue, it's straightforward. Jakob Lindberg doesn't play it much differently than Broderick, just a 'rocking' tempo. Broderick's interpretation includes hammer-ons too, so there. Anyone can interpret a piece however they want.

  • @Zimx02 please listen to this /watch?v=JRTxWJi1CRc

now listen the broderick's again xD

  • @sin1982cl You must not be very bright...

  • @sin1982cl Yes, Chris doesn't have all the technical control of someone who is only a classical player. But that classical guitar player couldn't play metal guitar worth shit.Chris is a more well rounded musician then the later.

  • @themetalgod21 indeed

  • @sin1982cl ...

  • Mustaine saw this video and hired this dude to be his wing man in megadeth.

  • play that on a mesa boogie max overdrive about double the speed and it's straight metal. the best music knows no boundaries

  • As good as this may seem, he is playing less than half of the piece, and he plays it slower than most of the other people on YouTube

  • @Rocknroller5555 Speed isn't everything, Sounds perfect here, so what's the problem ?

  • Thats amazing to go from megadeth stuff to classical acoustic, well rounded guitarist

  • How, how can you dislike this?!

  • I am not a fan of technical or fast guitar players, am not a fan of technique in music in general, but this was very enjoyable.

  • @xx2n23 Envy is cruel fag

  • okay gud! but can he play Smoke On The Water :p

  • who did he study under?

  • @konerak9 he studied @ the lamont school of music in denver. i have no idea bout his teacher, but when i may give a tip: god!

  • seriously... 55 people are just fucking stupid. even if you don't like guitar or classical music you have to be a fucking asshat to just dislike it. fucking dipshits.

  • The best 3/4 acoustic song

  • @baphinho Dude, it's in 6/8 :-)

  • I've his signature on my CD :DDDDD

  • That song is written sooo well and played so beautifully, i think people forget that somebody was good enough to write that song, then play it

  • Ha!! quiero ver a Hammet tocando esto ;)

  • I could listen to classic guitar for hours. Quite soothing (:

  • FUCKING CHRIST

  • is he using free stroke? o.o

  • @DoubleMannings he seems to change up a bit, but at certain points yes

  • @HeavyMetalVagabond Im still not very sure when I use rest stroke/free stroke :/

  • @DoubleMannings dont worry, its a good idea to get comfortable playing both ways, i prefer free stroke for most things but thats just my style. mix it up and see what you prefer tone-wise as well as comfort

  • @DoubleMannings pareceque sí

  • Why does it cut off in the middle i want the whole thing!!?!?!!!?!???!

  • no arthritis in his fingers

  • This video makes me wish I still played classical...

  • damn i hope that guitar was 18 yerars old

  • @zparck That is hilarious

  • @DirectShot999 It gets annoying when you've seen it on like 50 different videos..

  • @zparck LOL

  • @zparck <-------- i like this guy!

  • @tatertothotdishify haha yeah

  • @zparck look "yerars" LOL

  • @BrutalConduct jaja ooops xD

  • @zparck doesnt matter...rape is illegal no matter what age

  • @lonnyp1 i think make love is more apropiate :)

  • @zparck

this is by FAR thee funniest fuckin comment in the history of youtube. thank you my friend, for i am still laughing xD

  • @Crystal666Death lol thaks dude im still laughing everytime somebody respond to my comment :D

  • 55 people love Justin Beiber.

  • @goatbut29

No, they just were so full emotion that they started crying and the blurry vision caused them to miss the the like button. I heard 16 of them already committed suicide from shame.

  • hey dum 66! DIE!

  • After MegaDeth he should join up Sanctuary or King Diamond

  • @HillaryHitler OH! I'd LOVE to see Chris play with King Diamond!!! That would ROCK!!

  • Why isn't he playing classical guitar all the time? I have always had this feeling that he doesn't fit in Megadeth, maybe he is too good ;)

  • @ToastedCigar i think that too.. he is too good for that average metal band

  • @MrCold768 Average? lol

  • @omgwtfbbqwarftw compared to his skills its average

  • @MrCold768 I agree

  • @ToastedCigar Hell, I'd love to see him put out an all "classical" album.... I'd buy it in a heartbeat!

  • This guy has to be one of the most technically proficient guitarists out there, in any genre. As for why he isnt considered one of the best, i think he doesnt put that much feeling, i dont see him able to be compared to the greatness (technically and musically) of Paco de Lucia or such but nonetheless hes fuckin amazing.

  • so why isnt he on the list of top 10 guitarist of all time?

  • @Tommydrummer92 why that list has kirk hammet and kurt cobain?

  • @Vestu there alot but yeah i know which one your talking about, the guys who doe list now a days are slacking.

  • Whenever I see asians do this, I just say "Doesn't count, he has a chip in his neck"..

    but.. for this..

    .. I fucking quit >:(

  • 55 people are just fucking retarded and need to kill themselves

  • I play mostly electric. I wanna get a classical guitar:-)

  • i bet chicks are magnetically attracted to him

  • No matter how good You are at doing something....there's always an Asian who does it better

  • @2occasional lold

  • this guy is a GENIUS

btw, anyone knows if the strings oh his guitar are nylon or steel?

    THANKS

  • @Msaab92

    Nylon.It is a Classical Guitar :).

  • @Msaab92 Nylon. Does it look or sound like steel to you?!

  • Me gusta

  • Funny thing is, we're all metalheads lmao

  • I have a lot of love for Marty. But Chris, no doubt, is the best guitarist Dave has had standing by him- in my very humble opinion. This guy's talent knows no bounds... he's damn good!!

  • @ronnie3704 i agree to an extent, Chris is amazing. Though I think guys like Marty and Chris Poland were unique in their own ways. I saw Megadeth on tour last year, and Chris played every Marty solo note for note, it was amazing to watch.

  • He barred the poo out of....{mind explodeS}

  • amazing, 80 people thumbed up meadeth. HELLO AGAIN RETARDS OF YOUTUBE

  • Wat is this song?? Its really good

  • I have high expectations for the next Megadeth album seeiing as how Endgame was already 80% finished by the time broderick joined the band. Hopefully Mustaine gives a lot of leeway for Chris to bring his diversity into Megadeth.

  • Something tells me Randy Rhoads and Chris Broderick would have been good friends.

  • @chococoplex What do you mean something? you are obviously referring to the fact they were both hard rock/metal guitarists that also played classical on the nylon string....sorry for trolling....

  • @ZurabMelua I was just simply relying on that fact. I didn't know their social status and what they liked in a friend, but since they play rock/metal and classical I figure they would be friends. Purely on musical interest.

  • @chococoplex Haha I'm just joking dude, peace brother...

  • love that playingstyle! nice work!

  • That's what's up. -- However, it still doesn't touch some of the italian and spanish 12-string acoustic guitarists that there have been in years past. (1750-1950)

  • you can tell this guy is in megadeth..

  • Am I the only one who masturbates to this?

  • a 55 noobs les gusta justin bieber GAYSSSSSS!!!!!

  • A sign of a real guitarist.

  • um... like... HOW?!

  • this actually helped me on a play

  • What a badass I wish i could just walk into a room with a guitar, do this, and then be like whoa what are all you ladies doing down there?

  • i hear that Chris can play anything that is given to him but he cant really write riffs himself....

  • @Natedorg911 That would not surprise me

  • Kinda like Randy Rhoads. He was real into classical as well.

  • and that's how black holes are form...

  • I want to hear the whole suite performed by Chris

  • this guy is too good for megadeth
