My problem with Ron Paul is that unregulated laissez faire capitalism is as bad as irresponsible government. That's capitalism. How do you maintain capitalism without croneyism? In laissez faire power accumulates with private enterprises which use it to influence public policy. This goes for local, state and federal government. If you oppose croneyism you would have to abolish private donations (be it unions, corporations or individuals) to politicians. My problem with Ron Paul is that unregulated laissez faire capitalism is as bad as irresponsible government. The media doesn't like him because they are trying to sell commercial time and they find him boring (even Fox News). This is clearly irresponsible but makes good capitalist sense in terms of making money in the free market. The media makes a big deal about colorful politicians like Obama and Palin because it sells commercial time. If the media is socialist how come you never see Chomsky?

@perdondaris They arent socialist, they just push their own agenda. Now we have crony-capitalism, where lobbyists legally give politicians money to enact policies that favor them. They only do this because the federal government has so much power. They can hand out favors to whoever, while letting everyone else fend for themselves. Case and point: KBR, AIG and all the other bailouts, and megarich companies like GE not paying taxes. GE owns NBC, so of course theyd want to keep Paul out of office.
