And the way people would know that your car was old would be by the shape of its rear window - duh. VW people noticed things like that, even back then.

@102. There are turn signals on the top of the fenders. Ovals didn't have turn signals there. Ovals had bullet blinkers on the lower fender and or, lighted door pillar mounted semaphores.

Had 2 VW Sedans, the last one a '57 Oval with sunroof, and had that one for 18 years (1980-98). I regret having sold it, but sold it for 5 times what I paid. Anyway, the best car I've ever owned, all 36 horsepower!!

Love it!!! I agree best car in the world. Used to have a '55 Oval and still miss it to bits. Built like a bloody tank those things are, go on forever if properly cared for.
