  • @BolshieBlog You say that East Germany has more racism than West Germany because of the lack of communism DESPITE the fact that West Germany never was communist? Do you see the contradiction here?

Marxism can't explain everything. It is a useful theory but it has it's limits. That's what you don't get. It is impossible to explain a complex world with just one theory.

Religous fundamentalists believe that all truth is to be found in one book. You do, too. It is just a diffrent book.

  • @BolshieBlog Meanwhile the west did talk about prejudice etc. It was becoming a more open society. In Yougoslavia as soon as the communist regime failed the people finally were free to act on their ethnic hatered. Ethnic hatered is the problem and communists never solved it because they dind't get it. A small gropus of the left got it and do want a non-totalitarian socialism. I do, too.

I wish that you never become poor because god knows what you might do then...

  • @BolshieBlog discrimination against people who are different for whatever reason is a custom in every human society.

Nazis are not due to lack of communism but because communism didn't enlighten people. It is similaar in Ex-Jugoslavia. The communists punished national thinking but never dealt with it through enlightment. Russina anthropologists did think for a long time that culture is determined genetically. They therefore treated people as diffrent specieses.Although all humans are one species

  • @BolshieBlog and Asian countries but is not in Russia. How come? Or think of "honour" killig. Why don't you kill your sister (let's say you have one) for having a boyfriend? Why don't people in the West kill one of two born twins? Why don't you? Are you not poor enought to do so?

The answer to all those questions is: because you don't believe in those traditions and they are not part of your world view. Those are barbaric customs which need to be overcome. Unfortunately racism or other forms of

  • @BolshieBlog This is a left myth, not a scientific opinion. Besides. How come people get the idea to become racist? I guess you would start killing people of colour as soon as you get poor and unempoyed... Is that why you think that other people behave that way because of poverty?

Are you familiar with the concept of mentality? You know when people have certain customs they will act on them if they don't rationally critizise them. Eg. female genital mutilation is committed in several African

  • @BolshieBlog Expanded, indeed. But even if we got rid of capitalism racism would still be an issue. Did you know that there was a slave trade before whites and arabs came to Africa in order to enslave people? And that family members were likely to be sold into slavery? These trends still persist. Millions of people are enslaved today (many in their own contries)! You don't need racism to oppress, enslave or exploit people or do any sort of violence or injustice to them.

  • I won't unsubscribe but you are mistaken. Although I'm neither fond of racism nor capitalism, it is not the same thing. I concentrate on ethnic conflics in my studies and in the cases I learned about economy does not explain many things, sorry. Besides you don't need to say that capitalism is racist just to make people critical of it. It is a bad thing and does not need extra minuses.

But male supremacy and gender have a lot to do with racism. Marxism sucks at racismprevention.

  • @KatharinaF1 I never said they were the same thing.

  • @rubbleofempires Sorry, I just know from my personal experience and from readings that racism is a big problem in states from the former soviet union and there are more nazis in East Germany than there are in West Germany. Racism is probably an even bigger problem in those countries (Eastern Europe has a huge problem with racism). But I'm still learning about that. And - just my opinion - it would be more helpful not to involve capitalism because that way the wrong people get an "excuse".

  • I haven't read it yet but 'Guns, Germs and Steel' deals with European economic dominance before and leading up to the emergence of capitalism. A system of markets and wages, of accumulation for the sake of accumulation, does not by necessity need people to be adverse to groups of others based on superficial physical differences, language or culture - in theory at least!

  • Here's a quote I posted on a mr1001night's video:

The one [recent movement] that’s had the most profound influence and impact is probably the feminist movement, and I think it’s very important. Feminists have had an enormous effect in liberating consciousness and thought and making people aware of forms of oppression that they had internalized and not noticed.

    - Noam Chomsky

Although I think Chomsky's word is meaningless outside of U.S. foreign affair (specifically in Latin America).

  • @dbrockttu This is a great quote. You're right about the it's specificness though.

  • @dbrockttu And how would you describe someone's word as meaningful? Surely if Chomsky is able to think critically about US foreign policy he could use the same ability to analyse internal affairs, such as internal affairs and media propaganda (I saw your other comment).

  • It's so apparent how media functions in conjunction with capital to perpetuate or create racial and ethnic fear. eg, propaganda about urban gang violence and crack use/"crack babies" to get Reagan the vote. Newspaper stories in the 50's about blacks raping white women. Sensationalist trite dividing the working class to gain power.

Recent: incessant news stories about Muslim and middleastern garb that happily coincided with the wars. They don't give a fuck how a nun or a Jewish man dresses.

  • @dbrockttu Yeah so true.

  • Great video as always.

  • @bjarczyk Thanks glad you liked it.

  • i like what you have to say about obama however i think there is no race issue its about who has the money!

  • @NUMBLIFEUSA what do you mean by "race issue."

  • @rubbleofempires the idea i am trying to articulate is(bare with me i am trying) poverty creates culture so people who don't like black people normally will change their minds when they meet a black person who doesn't act like they are poor. are you following my train of thought?

  • You're debating with that guy? Uh oh, you just said social construct and that means the pornofundamentalists will quote mine you. Didn't you hear? There's no such thing as objectification. There's no racism in porn. Good video. :) I know I'm controversial, even for you, but I know my way around.

  • @SaelPalani :)
