I will be obtaining my tesl this spring in Toronto ( have an Honours Sociology Trent Grad) and doing as much research as I can on the various opportunities. However, my concern is my age. You are right - you do get to a point where you realise, 'hey, it's just like any other relationship with any other men'. My being asian, having a caucasian (Polish) boyfriend - who's not my first non-asian bf by the way- at first made me feel weird, more due to the outer, social influence rather than from my own insecurities. I'm British living in Korea and have been dating my Korean boyfriend for 2 years now. I'm with him because when we met we became great friends, then something just grew. He treats me a lot better than my British ex ever did (Nothing against English guys, just my ex was an idiot XD) I don't care about race as long as there is something special about him. i know this isnt completely relevant to the video (kind of since it was mentioned) but I was planning to stay in korea for a month or so and decided to live in a love motel instead of a hotel, would that be okay, would i have to pay for food, detergent, living necessities for that time, etc?
@chuchi15092 ~~ yes you can do that! actually, when i made this video i was doing the same thing. i stayed in the motel for 4 weeks, and she gave me a better rate on the room. i think the room rate was also partially because i could speak korean and try to explain my situation to get the deal, otherwise i might have been required to pay the regular rate. it was 30,000 won a night, but i paid 25,000. not a steal, but it was perfect for me. i hope this helps ^__^

I too had my resevations when I got to Seoul as well, but I've always been an open-minded person by nature so, I was able to adapt and assimilate. You are talking about dating but you are also talking about the core value of relationship -- Love. Yes, you are a foreigner in other countries than Canada. People get very cruel over the internet because they are anonymous, they wouldn't be corageous enough to say things in your face. I think you're very brave for going to such a different country on your own and if I were Korean, I'd say it's flattering that you took the effort to learn the language. Keep your head up and don't let some anonymous strangers get to you :) I think you're inspiring. Good luck!

i know this isnt completely relevant to the video (kind of since it was mentioned) but I was planning to stay in korea for a month or so and decided to live in a love motel instead of a hotel, would that be okay, would i have to pay for food, detergent, living necessities for that time, etc?

@chuchi15092 ~~ yes you can do that! actually, when i made this video i was doing the same thing. i stayed in the motel for 4 weeks, and she gave me a better rate on the room. i think the room rate was also partially because i could speak korean and try to explain my situation to get the deal, otherwise i might have been required to pay the regular rate. it was 30,000 won a night, but i paid 25,000. not a steal, but it was perfect for me. i hope this helps ^__^

...i'm soon going to be a senior in college and my parents who are korean dislike the idea of me traveling alone in korea (if i ever do go). my mom especially hates imagining me staying at a motel because it seems too dangerous for a single girl. anyway, just wanted to leave me 2 cents here. :)

gotta give a big UPS to you kerri. i discovered your vlogs yesterday so i don't know much about you getting hate. but, what's neat is that while watching your videos, you show tons of courage. i wouldn't have gone up to the guy who left his bag at the coffee shop or the actor if you gave me $50, but to see that you did it yourself while being a foreigner and female is encouraging.
