this can be on an acoustic and bass

you don't NEED a capo just play bar chords but capos can be picked up pretty cheap... for an elastic band type and if yo don't use then often then they are ok but if you use it a lot like I use mine every day for my 12 string then I would recoment getting a a good quality one that doesn't use elastics that will stretch out and cause fret buzz after a while. I use a G7th brand capo and it cost about 50 bucks.

i used a pen and it worked but its the same trick. u need a pen/pencil and a rubber band/hair band u put the pen/pencil over the fret u would put the capo on and use the band to attach it. u then just keep wrapping the band around the end of the pen/pencil until it is tight enough :)

if you got to use rubber bands get a popsicle stick to go on the strings and use the rubbers to pull it tight to the neck.

@starryburst444 my guess is no because it might not put the same amount of pressure as a capo, so i might sound different - you can buy capos at a guitar place or a walmart or target!! you could find a capo maybe for 15 bucks!
