Here in El Salvador we eat everything with curtido.. Pupusas, pastelitos, tostadas, yuca frita, yuca salcochada, bean soup, chicken sandwiches, turkey sandwiches, etc etc... xD we eat curtido a lot! xD
@dewcita18 hell yah i even put it on non-salvi stuff like perogies or sandwiches or even as a lil side dish slaw wtith bbq. INTERESTING VARIATION is to add some dry chili peppers while it sits and you can make it spicy as u like with a nice orange-red color. curtido fuck yeah!
The one I know about comes in a jar. It's pickled and it's a relish, not a salad. Different regions probably make it a different way. Blanched cabbage, onion, and carrots pickled in a mixture of vinegar, salt, spices, peppercorns. Very sour and peppery. Good stuff.
Curtido is the best in salvadorian families we eat it with anything... soup, rice chicken, etc! omg i love it!!
