It's premature to compare Rose with Jordan. He's a slightly better athlete than Jordan, but is smaller and does not have Jordan's outside shot, and is not the defender Jordan was. Yet. He's already a better passer.

Kobe does not belong in the same conversation as Jordan. He's reached his prime, and found wanting in that comparison. Rose still has time, and if he gets his outside shot, and improves his defense, there won't be much missing from his game.

Rose is a one of a kind talent. He's not super fast, he's super fast +1. He's crazy explosive. He's strong. He's got everything physically.

Jordan had it mentally too, and he had skill to go with talent. Give Rose time.

The point about Bird and Chamberlain (who was the best of all time) is that guys besides point guards can pass, and being a point guard does not automatically make you a better passer.  You better be good at it though, but nothing prevented Jordan from it either.

@TA152H01 Rose isn't a better athlete than MJ. Rose is a point guard, and MJ was a shooting guard. MJ was more proficient and successful as a 2 guard than Rose is as a point guard.

Also Kobe DOES belong in the same conversation as MJ, because he too is a shooting guard and is the only player to come close to being as efficient as MJ was. If Rose is to be compared to anybody it's Magic Johnson, John Stockton, Isiah Thomas, or the other great Point Guards.

You can't compare a 50% shooter with better defense compared to 45% shooter, who scores less.

Kobe had Shaq, who was a much more important player. Who does Rose have? He's only 23, give him a little time. The guy has it all. He's athletic as all Hell, he's tough as nails, serious, always looking to improve, hard working and takes responsibility for his team.
