this thought occurred to me too, but the answer is that every BMI head piece would have some sort of unique digital ID code signature preapproved for each and every door (car/house) or lock that the owner has
so basically program the doors to respond to your head piece, or your wife's, or kid's etc, or only to few select peoples personal BMI head pieces
but if you lose the head piece... :)
it's like loosing the keys to your house or car, hopefully there is no address on any of these ;)

This is not designed to replace a limb but a whole human.
As for "exploring dangerous places". You bet, its always dangerous to invade other countries and steal their resources. Once these machines are combat able we will see a lot of them.
Until then it is still cheaper to make our youth believe they are fighting for freedom in iraq.

1.THEY HAVE YOU LAY INSIDE THE MACHINE SO THEY CAN GET ZERO CHANCES OF MACINE FAILURE. Its like the first car - it ran on steam which meant that u lost around 50 percent of the energy in the begining.

Hmm so my point was that you don't know how this technology is going to develop and you appear not to even know what it is capable of. All it does is read the activity from the surface level of your brain and make a machine learning guess about what command you want to execute. It doesn't "read your thoughts".
