  • It took me to get half way through the video to realize they were speaking gibberish... and i'm american.

  • Sounds like Sims .___.

  • i dont understand a word they are saying!

  • what?

  • I tried so hard to understand what was said :(

  • i cannot figure out why this guy looks familiar?

  • britesh people are annoying

  • @wacnac1 Wtf is a "britesh" person.

  • I have no idea what is going on in this video...

  • btw, the film's very funny.

  • would it kill either of you two to take a bath before you film yourselves?

    bollocks! hehehe

  • This is interesting, and would be good, but the unnecessary drama fucking kills it.

  • im british... and i understand all american accents.. except this video..

  • I don't understand this. I comprehend quaint British accents better than I understand my own countrymen.

  • I guess British people have poor comprehension.

  • LOL why everyone so mad?

  • This is utterly ridiculous.

  • @1grizzlyrizzo What are you saying? and yes if the US did not intervene when it did the Germans would have invaded and eventually defeated all of you. You would have had no chance. The english arent fighters, and you are not nearly as brave or bad ass as we are. I have no idea we ungrateful people like yourselves disgrace the nation that feeds, and protects you. Have fun with the tuition and other riots this summer you prick :).

  • @yeeeeedog I don't have anything against the US, i just don't like the whole war argument.

  • @yeeeeedog Why should people from the UK say that you guys were late, at least you helped out for which i'm greatful, gave the US pennies? (not sure if he means the coins or the war debt, only just paid off). If i wanted to argue that i would list things like, Swept back wings (mach1 flight), Turbo Jet engine (Frank Whittle) etc, or the fact that the Torpedo rights were purchased from an American, i could go on like this all knight but thats not the point.

  • @yeeeeeedog

What i was trying to put accross was, our royal family is German, Hitler was a very bad man, and if the K19 disaster didn't highlight the design problems with that fuel system at the time, the USSR wold have used those subs to transport missiles into Cuba blockaid or not.

But back to the matter at hand, people around the world can all understand Americans because their is so much on the airwaves produced by you guys, and don't have a problem with.

  • Are they even speaking English? I'm from the south and even with the way we pronounce our words... my god what the fuck is this

  • im american and i dont dun sound like this never.

  • That's sad

  • my mum says this is how southerners sound to her... we her kids r southerners.. she just says yea n i dont understand you....or yer dad or me son in law.. and she just laughed ... ? wtf

  • im scared!

  • @USAon3 Actually, twat-face, I'm technically 'British' (I'm from Northern Ireland which is under British rule) and 1. I've never tried a crumpet 2. We have Harry Potter, the best actors and the best television in the world. Doctor Who or Alan Rickman anyone? Please, broaden you're ridiculous narrow mind. People like you give Americans a bad name.

  • lmao! only words i understood are "fucking asshole!"

  • i didnt know it was possible to fake english lol

  • They sound like there gargling Toilet Bowl water.....

  • What just fucking happened

  • what just happened? i don't understand.

  • ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! lol

  • dafuq did i just watch

  • I'm thinking of Hugh Laurie on "House".

  • @USAon3 Are you high? Must be.

  • @USAon3 trollin

  • @USAon3 Obviously you have not been paying attention about your own countries history. The first migrants were from all over Europe not just England and the ones from England were escaping persecution. So they WERE kicked out. Finally, what limb of the body do you hit a ball with...?

  • @USAon3 Are you for real? Pathetic..

  • @USAon3 patriotism is a weapon of the weak.

  • @USAon3 WOW ok um.... I'm American too, and you are very racist XD plus I'm pretty sure it was originally called football. Sure, I don't get why the english don't pronouce 'r' but I like it x3 it sounds pretty *.*

  • @USAon3

You've never been kicked out of our country because you would never even make it there in the first place, idiot.

No enemy of Britain has set foot on it's shores in centuries.

  • @OriginalYTName I didn't say *me*, dimbulb - but you're right, I couldn't make it on your island, as I could never be a subject to some dust-farting relic figurehead who means fuck all to national matters.

And Adolf didn't have to "set foot" on your little island - that's what he had planes and bombs for. Blitz much?

  • @USAon3 Americans only call the sport "soccer" because they decided that football should be something else. Something that you don't play with feet or a ball.

Seems to me like America is the moron in that particular instance, so you probably shouldn't use it in an argument about superiority.

  • LOLOLOLOL they are sims!

  • what

  • This is what you might sound like to someone who doesn't speak American english, or english at all for that matter. Just imagine a foreigner coming to America and listening to a random conversation. The creator of this video is trying to give us an idea of what that foreigner's experience might be like here in America, unable to understand just hearing sounds specific to the American accent. Brilliant video if you ask me.

  • I am so proud of my fellow American's and their British counterparts. They get along so well and know so much of history and the English language.

    (The above was sarcasm.)

  • @jeavjuaf I get along great with British people and I'm from the Northeast.

  • What. What happened? I want to know what they were saying now! Did he have an affair? Lose his job? What! D:

  • I have no idea what is happening in this video

  • i dont get it

  • Interesting did we sound that way when we kicked your asses out of out of America?

  • @wedge6777

Only an American would be this ignorant of his own history.

  • @wedge6777 Remind me what Canada day is again? or just grow up.

  • My fake british accent sounds way better than their fake american accents.

  • lmfao what??? ..and why she make 2 chickens for 2 ppl?? lol

  • Im american and i cant understand this shit.

  • Americunts are queers ha ha

  • @PAED0PHILE Ladies and Gents, i present the brains of Britain, (head in hands)

  • Ok So I'm NOT supposed to understand them. Good to know. Lol I thought I was crazy.

  • haha, I understood just "yeah, sure".

  • where the heck in america are they from?!!?!? im american and I cant understand them!?!?

  • @mollyj647 Your comment just made my day... xD

  • Comment removed

  • I didn't understand a word they were saying... This is weird...

  • What the hell are they talking about?

  • I cannot understand this at all haha

  • Lol

  • lol, that's how it sounds to English-speaking elderly people, too. Can't tell, then, whether it's a hearing problem or a speaking problem!

  • ..... its funny cause the "American accent" is historically speaking considered by linguists to be closer to the original English then the modern day "British Accent". Has to do with with the origins of the English and the native Irish and Scottish and the like and how it got all mixed up. Food for thought.

  • @jakefrnkln Wrong faggot

  • She sounds Dutch

  • Hard to understand mainly due to poor audio quality/mike echo.

But if the British accent is superior, why do they lose it when they sing? huh?

    Well, except for Billy Bragg.

  • @Toobaluba It's called range, and a musical note is international.

  • We can't sound that discombobulated... wow.

  • Jesus people, stop fighting about "Well america....." "Well britain....". Just stop bitching and arguing about the countries. It's a freaking joke. Just like America may parody stuff with Britain, Britain will parody stuff with America. God damn this annoys me so much.

  • @DisturbedOneX I'm so with on that, can't stand this idiotic carry on. Just to be clear, am from south coast england parents from north and south raised for 2 years in Norway, German grandmother, British army officer grandfather, desended from Irish, Welsh, Scotish, Indian, family in all of above and France, America and China. And raised in a house hosting students of the world each summer.

  • It's the same way around in the U.S. But you just have to get used to it.

Just be thankful we all don't sound like Batman from The Dark Knight in real life.

  • Comment removed

  • Damn it it's true, especially in American Films...so mumbley damn it.

  • They sound like the Sims :D

  • Hahaha it took me forever to realize they weren't even saying real sentences.. Now I feel like an idiot

  • Fascinating.

  • I HAVE WONDERED THIS MY WHOLE LIFE

  • This is dumb. I don't have an accent, and neither do Brits if you talk to Brits who are educated. Intelligent persons enunciate. "Idea" is not pronounced "idear." It's not OK because you have an accent. It's wrong.

  • @OpiumBeast As a Brit I can tell you that I have an accent and I would consider myself educated. Your comment is ridiculous

  • @OpiumBeast Enunciation isn't lack of accent. Sometimes foreign speakers sound unclear because they're using the wrong vowel (or consonant) structure for the dialect they're trying to emulate. If they're not trying to emulate your dialect, but have their own dialect, they'll still sound unclear. Americans who can't learn other vowel structures won't reliably understand a Kiwi or Scottish person. India has several dialects of English. They'll stay spoken the way they are, not "improve."

  • @OpiumBeast The kind of enunciation you're talking about are features of high-status dialects. We read status cues as the actual value of the person, their intelligence. I used to do this too. Southern black people grow up speaking a dialect so different from formal written English that they have to learn to code switch. That's like speaking full-blown Scots around Scottish people. If they don't do this in their primary years they do poorly in school, and no one makes them aware of this.

  • @OpiumBeast whoa dude. u crazy, read a book b4 u have the gusto to say havin an accent is wrong. and its generally well known that ppl have a hard time hearin there own accents, if accents had to do with inteligence then america is a gene cesspool, listen to someone from the south speak.

  • @OpiumBeast I think you missed the point of this video...

  • What? Americans don't sound like this. I'm from the U.S. and I don't understand a word they're saying. Lol.

  • @clowngirl1989 its pro-british-english propaganda lol

  • @clowngirl1989 america is big... many accents

  • @2thethirdeye5 Yea we fucked english up, well english was fucked up to begin with

  • @2thethirdeye5 Americunts all sound the same: fat, nasally, squeaky and like retards.

  • @PAED0PHILE and British are uneducated snobs that have bad teeth and stinky breath that used to slaughter millions in the crusades and imperialism

  • Comment removed

  • @rubenbest1 Sounds like the Brits and the Americans have a lot in common!

  • @jdeanasher oh the irony.

  • @rubenbest1 If i don't care about the way my teeth look to you, why would you try to use it as an insult. Swing and a miss. Could it be a sin to lie about how you look naturally?

  • @PAED0PHILE American English is far more evolved than UK English, any linguist will tell you that. Now please, go back to Hadrian's wall and eat your horrible cuisine.

  • @Slyther83 that is mot certainly, incredibly inaccurate. In fact, most youtuber Americans don't know the difference between "then" and "than"

  • Yeah im american and couldnt understand most of what was said either

  • @theCelticViking6 oh wait I just heard "Fucking asshole" there we go

  • i seriously couldn't understand a word either of them said...

  • @artistdenise1 that was the joke... they weren't speaking real sentences. Read the title of the video. British people find Americans hard to understand....

  • so the british don't speak english?

  • Comment removed

  • I thought I was watching another BLR... This is ridiculous...

  • You can't really define an American accent.. There's a west, midwest, and east.. and some of the midwest is the standard news accent... :| I just made myself confused trying to explain that America doesn't have just one accent.

Oh and... this is NOT how Americans soun- *looks at title* lol nvm this video is about how Americans sound to BRITISH people.

  • @ToastOfDOOMM Yeah I agree! It's a bit of a joke on Americans AND British people! I wonder where I fit in..... Australian. I'm sure lots ok jokes could be made about us lol

  • @RedBeret22 heaps

  • ummm wha?

  • I'm an American. Born n raised in the State of Michigan. I can honestly say I have friends and family that mumble so badly that at times all I hear is what this couple spoke like. Hilarious video, made me chuckle :)

  • Hehe am i the only one who is not offended. It was fun trying to figure out what they were saying i picked up a couple of words

  • @MARINA7OHSEVEN took me back to the days of monty python

  • what the fuck...

  • What, okay I could not...understand..what?

  • I like how the phrases that have been globalized were clear. Very interesting, but a few too many real words pop out when it should be gibberish.

  • Comment removed

  • @bigmikeatky Wow... as an American, I can assure everyone here that you certainly don't represent me or anybody else that I know. First learn to spell and compose a proper sentence. And you are probably a fat virgin who jerks off while watching the chicks in the WWF. So just shut the fuck up, you pussy.

  • Xatpredators do u know anything about WW2? British put in way more work for way longer than the americans did. So did the Canadians

  • @flossyshid Yeah the canadians were kickin ass at vimy ridge down in the trenches

  • This is exactly how english sounds to not english speakers... Perfect.

  • I am proud to speak American :p

I do not ever wish anybody to think I am trying to speak English. These are two separate languages.

  • Actually if you listen carefully, you can hear the similarities to English.

  • @JosephMFaulkner They are speaking actual english words. Just no sentence structure and nonsense jumble of words.

  • Uhm...This isn't American English, nor is it British English, this is just rubbish.

  • so how da fuck do these brits watch hollywood movies, television shows and music that they are obsessed with? blimey hell...do they have to read bloody subtitles? or is this just bullshit rubbish?

  • good think I don't live the uk any more...if I had seen this I would have never spoken a word to anyone

  • This is the most dumb fucking thing I have ever watched..ha ha ha ha!

  • hahaha, so hard to understand! I wonder if they actually had a script or made it up as they went.

  • Simlish.

  • LOL (i feel the sudden need to clarify where i live lol) i am an american and i thought this was hilarious, you guys need to get the stick out of your ass and live a little :) i am form cali, and we get the most crap so stop complaining!!

  • I dont get it. So British people can't understand the English language?

  • @3510211 technically, its us americans that done know how to SPEAK the english language, is what they are gettin at

  • @temper616 hmm well im canadian so these hosers can take a fuckin hike.

  • Dude....Im american...I cant understand a fucking word theyre saying.

  • I clicked on this because I thought I saw Joel McHale

  • Was she about to stab him with the fork

  • All I heard was 'Elton John'. Does this say anything about me.

  • WTF?

  • this is offensive bullshit!!!! like the asswholes who made this have actually heard EVERY american in the world talk,im american and i dont talk like that maybe some asswhole american should make a video about how english people talk, this video is REAAAALLLYYY offinsive and its not even remotely funny >: (

  • @emilythestrange1997 Lol calm down and yes we have made plenty of fun of the brits before. Just take it with a grain of salt really its kinda funny if you watch it a couple times. Oh and by the way im an American.

  • @emilythestrange1997 Pipe down love. It's not offensive in the slightest. I concur it's not overly humorous but your comment certainly was.

  • @emilythestrange1997 well i guess thats explains where the rainforest went, it's all up you ass, please save the world and get it removed.

  • all i heard was

    Yeah Sure 1:47

  • @ExoriDeath i heard boner face somewere in there

  • hahahaha if they get this lost i wonder what they hear when Jamaican English is thrown at them

  • @apoc6400 Considering Jamaican English is extremely prevalent in the UK I don't really get your point.

  • english translation please???

  • what the fuck is going on?!?!?

  • This video is just lending you the ears of a foreigner. They don't understand what we're saying except for a few words ;most commonly used. Also, they mainly just showed us the pronunciation of things and how our words mesh....?

  • what the fuck.. I was stuck for like 2 minutes, thinking my speakers was low. i swear i couldnt be the only one

  • i am british. and that is how you americans sound to me.

  • @Thomo2207 screw you man the US has been bailing the uk out for years, if it wasn't for us then you would be speaking German, you guys owe us, and you all gave tiny peenies.

  • @BigAl196994 As our royal family couldn't get us to speak German, i don't think Hitler would have stoud much of a chance. It's all about going out speaking the Queen's, old boy. And what a stroke of luck, that K19 caused the recall of subs at that time.

All jokes aside, BigAl i'd say your SUPER.

  • lol its like the put all there words together as one

  • I didn't understand one word they said

  • lol so true

  • "what for ni i choose for renawl, what for i bleed the trace patreene!" nice english

  • We dont sound like this. lol. i cant even understand these idiots. but i bet they live near the TEMS river. go screw urself. we shud have let the nazis have you. lol.

  • This video is mislabeled. This is how English speaking people sound to non-English speaking people. Think of you hearing Japanese, then reverse that situation.

  • @kennyparker1337

Exactly right. That's the real intent of the video, and it's really well done.

But speaking of Brits doing American accents, Tracy Ulman used to do a convincing job on her show back in the day (probably early 90s).

  • @iCandice18 They aren't saying anything lol

  • Haha I caught on

  • i dont get it and i cant understand what their saying.

  • Yeah... you slice those veges... slice em good.. Toss em in a nice salad babe... yeah... love that shit

  • Comment removed

  • where i come from in america other americans tell me i have an accent, i could catch most of what they said but who the fuck made this crazy talk, also i like your sparklers
