  • How does it get oil for lubrication

  • @thebigmann25 I simply grease it up from time to time. Not a permanent solution, but you'd be surprised how long it will run before needing relubrication.

  • i dont get why the chek valve is needed friend, it seems its doing nothing configured that way, wouldnt the engine run without it, very inaficiantly, thats why it wont self start because your check valve isnt checking any thing? im very curios thats all i love your vid friend

  • @NOBOX7 The check valve is necessary, because it cuts off the flow of air, allowing the piston to return to the TDC position. I believe this engine would self start with a heavier flywheel, provided it was slightly past the TDC.

  • @theairgunman ok i see, i wasnt shure how the valve would shut off as its under pressure time, any way very cool that you did this so easy, and yes i still bin building, i moved in with my girl,,,,DAM what was i thinkn,,, she has three kids so until i get a garage, you could say youtube mist some good ones just dont have the desire to post vids cus i have no privicy here, bin messing with hydrogen peroxide,12%hair toner and maganeas dioxide from batterys , made as nice little oxygen genrater,

  • so all you did is what you showed on the video? the check valve, air attachment and nail? damn, simpler than I thought.

  • @flamedrag18 That's all it takes. very simple to do

  • Do this, but on a large size engine, like a 4cyl car engine, and used compressed dry nitrogen instead. That is my dream, to one day make a compressed nitrogen powered engine to replace the gas burners on the road today.

  • @Airsoftpsyco1423 Check out my channel for a video I just did on a 4 hp 4 stroke lawnmower engine. It produces an amazing amount of torque since it produces one power stroke per revolution. It is more efficient than the uniflow engine in this video since the exhaust valve is open for the entire up stroke. One thing with using nitrogen as fuel is energy density, cost per fill, and time to refuel. On the bright side, you will have air conditioning at no additional charge. :)

  • @theairgunman Ill have to look at that. After my comment, I searched compressed air car, and a car in france popped up. It's fricken awesome. Our atmosphere is 78% nitrogen, and they make nitrogen generators out there that, while they cost 3000, it only takes ~3 hours to fill a Tall tank to about... 3600 psi I think. But check out that car, it's fricken awesome. Mdi dot lu , click on the british flag in the corner for english.

  • @Airsoftpsyco1423 Check out Tata motors in India. They have compressed air engines. The compression of the air at stations it uses consume fuel though, and generate a lot of waste heat.

  • Keep up the great work. I hope you show us some application for your new steam engine.

  • @field16 thanks, I'm planning on running something off it, I just havent been able to find any sprockets or pulleys that will fit it. I got a very old chainsaw that doesnt run, so I'll probably convert it since it already has a sprocket.

  • @theairgunman Great idea! There are probably old chainsaws all over the world that could be recommissioned to do useful work as a steam engine. I have one, too!

  • Why would you break a good engine to convert it to steam?

  • @pyrosimple I've got too many small engines :) This one actually had some carb issues and was basically made to be a throw away engine. So I decided to use it in another way.

  • You nailed it!

  • PURE AWESOME!!!

    That is really cool dude.

What pressure were you running it on?

  • @techwizzy 60 psi, with a heavier flywheel and some valve tuning, I expect it to run well on 20 psi.

  • @theairgunman cool, any plans for mounting it on anything? It would make a really cool engine for a small vehicle...

  • @techwizzy I got a bicycle, just need a sprocket to drive the chain.

  • @theairgunman that would be epic. keep us posted :)

  • a ye old wippersnapper
